That's actually pretty common. High Grades and the HGUC line have been around for a very long time so Bandai is super familiar with how to engineer them. RGs, however, have always struggled with finicky parts and while they look really nice, a lot of builders stay away from them because they're hard to work with. The only major exceptions there is the Mk II.
Pretty sure the build on this is based on that of the HGUC Sinanju, albeit with new armour and a frame to match. Really solid and detailed, the original Sinanju came out way back in 2010. It is one of the oldest kits in my collection, and one of my favourites. Sinanju Stein will doubtlessly be right at home beside it

well they did very well nowadays on the unicorn and the new Sazabi, which is waaay better than the unicorn. so maybe theyll carry the assembly technique of the sazabi to this in the future

I think this ver of the Stein was the "Mid" version of the sinanju. It was mentioned that Full Frontal stole the sinanju. If it was stolen, the first looks of the sinanju would be the all white one. Then time passes by and Full Frontal made changes with how the sinanju looks, adding those zeonic symbols. Then time passes by again ang Full Frontal had all the time to repaint his machine to an all red sinanju and add that horn. Idk I haven't read the manga tho. I just deduced it from hiw the three ver of sinanjus looks like
So The Stein is the testbed and a data gathering machine, but it actually had the same specs as sinanju, but its sensitivity and acceleration was not safe nor suitable for ordinary pilots to survive. AE transferred (disguised as a robbery) both Steins ti the sleeves, and only one was remade into the Sinanju we know; which had its colors, attachments and settings changed.
I have built mine. The best HG I've ever built. It's basically an MG Sinanju stein scaled down to 1/144 with some different parts. Once you apply decals and some detailing to the kit, it will be looked as good as its MG counterpart.
I just finished mine tonight after spending all weekend working on the Neo Zeong Unit 2. I don't know why but the shield and the grenade launcher don't fit on the arm on mine. I'm not sure what the deal is but it is a little annoying.
As a guy who is thrilled about buiding custom Gunpla, I enjoy Sinanju Stein more than Sinanju because of it having almost too unique armor design which makes it difficult to find matching parts. Not sure if I should pick up the original 1/100 or wait for Ver.Ka tho
Even though it has the old ball joint hips, at least the HGUC Sinanju Stein's hip joints can swing outward. I can't tell you how scared I was in the unboxing video when I saw that the old Sinanju's hip joints were still being used.
Wouldn't fuel tanks be a massive, easy-to-hit weak spot for any mobile suit? Any reason for it when other UC suits are fine flying around in long periods without those?
I honestly would have thought that the issues with the leg/hip joints would have bumped it down a tier but it doesn't matter to me. I'm still getting it
I can`t believe this almost looks as good as a MG kit. Like it`s hard to tell which one`s which when I`m just looking at photos. I`ll probably end up buying both of them.
Really sucks about them using the old ball and socket hip joint instead of the more recent peg one. Some clear nail polish will probably tighten it up so it doesn't sag so much, but it definately could have been better made since they used mostly new molds for the stien. Still hyped about this kit though and look forwards to losing it with my RG Sinanju.
I see the phenex ohhh I’m excited... also should I get the HG stein or the MG Stein? I want the HG for its performance and it’s wrist and chest piece, but the MG for its all white color. Wut do?
Thing to remember about the MG though, the hands use the same fully articulated hands as the RX - 78 2 ver 3.0 so it's going to have trouble holding up its hugeass rifle. Otherwise, the kit itself is absolutely brilliant.

I have a question in regards to arm rotation. when i had hg sinanju the arm will pop off from the shoulders a lot when im rotating them because they were so loose. Do you have the same problem or did they fix this????
I just built hg sinanju, so I probably not going to buy this kit soon, but those improving articulation is good. Articulation of Sinanju was my only complain.

They need a bit of a rearranging. At least it’s not like living in Japan, where all of your kits are subject to falling over all the time because of the quakes. As for the moon I’m not sure as I’m not near it right now

It was actually a unit built for Amuro Ray in hopes of him going back. Fast forward, Full Frontal stole it and used it to obliterate the units protecting it. When he came back, he had the Sinanju Stein customized and it became what the Sinanju we know and love. Fast forward into the future, there seems to be a secondary Sinanju Stein obtained by the remnants of Sleeves. It's kinda not explained how they got it, but it could be a newly manufactured Sinanju Stein made from stolen blueprints from Anaheim.

Hg stein has no ordinary ball socket hip but a ball socket hip that can do full split gg 8/10

The hg is cheaper, the mg is better and bigger, depends on how much money and time are you willing to spend, also it depends on which design you like

I just used white warhammer paint. Apparently reverse washing is the way to go!
