I was born in Bradenton a looong time ago. I've lived all over the state. 4th generation. My grandmother moved, as a child,to Greencove Springs. She passed in 2007 at 98 years old. We are long time residents. Things surely have changed. Love this video.

I remember looking at moving to Venice in 2003-4. All the canals were filled with millions of dead fish. It was not red tide but some type of sewer leak creating a huge fish kill. The stench of rotting fish was immense. None of the local real estate agents were relaxed when showing waterfront homes that year that is for sure.

Wow that sounds pretty nasty. I’m sure that is a pretty tough sell no matter how good of an agent you are lol

I have lived in Florida for 25 years. I started out in Boca Raton. I moved across the line into Broward county in Coconut Creek for 7 years but close to the prettiest beaches in Florida just so overcrowded. Seventeen years ago we moved to the Gulf side 80 miles north of Tampa, the nature coast and considered west central Florida. We are an hour and a half from Orlando and only 2 hours from St. Augustine. I cannot be happier anywhere in Florida than I am where I live currently.

I love living in Florida. My life before Florida was to focus on how the snow was going to be managed from November through many times, Mid May. I am a Realtor in Central Florida close to The Villages Florida and close towns. Being so central in the State is a win for my lifestyle as the beach on the Gulf Coast is less than an hours drive to Crystal River. Living on the beach is great for many but I find a lot of folks get there and say, OK, we walked the Beach every day this week. Now what? The community that I live in has so many events going on daily, weekly and monthly that if you tried to do one new thing a day, it would take you 10 years to get close to do them all. The host has named a lot of my favorite places as well. Life is good, time for everyone to start enjoying it. Speak to experienced people that have your interests at heart, I think the host of this video has your back.

I love living here too! I can see how being in a nice area inland like the villages can provide the ideal lifestyle for many. I like that area too. Especially if you are retired or have a lot of free time, its nice to have so many activities always going and available. Thanks for backing up my choices and intentions 😀

Central Florida has been growing incredibly fast. We've been documenting the area on our channel for the past several months. There's an astounding amount of new construction coming up everywhere and prices have been going up faster than I've ever seen in my lifetime. I can't blame people wanting to movie here though, it's beautiful, no snow, and no restrictions.

Something to know (born in Fort Lauderdale and escaped to Palm Beach County 28 years ago) the line for the Tropics is an imaginary line where the peninsula is shaped like a cup (see the map of Juno Beach in this video but perhaps closer south to Palm Beach Gardens). The Gulf Stream parallels our coast about 3 miles off shore but as the state bends west, the Gulf Stream turns east and goes out to sea. This is what accounts for our more moderate, Tropical weather in the winter than farther north in the rest of the state.

FYI to move to St Pete; costs are getting out of control; also in Tampa and Clearwater. Friend's 1BR apartment in St Pete is going from $2500/month to $3400/month. Want something cheaper? You are probably going to live close to the hood or hillbilly area. Lots of gentrification. I agree it's beautiful here but after 3 years of their long summers you start to realize it's too hot and humid. Teachers will just get up and quit during lunch (friend is a principal so I hear the horror stories) traffic is crazy and dangerous, lots of wrong way drivers. We are surrounded by water so that means we can only build so much before having to build up which creates more aggravation trying to find parking and not being late to events.

Very heavy gulf side list. One thing to keep in mind is the gulf typically gets hammered by hurricanes more than the Atlantic and red tide is much worse. I also find the gulf side to be overall much warmer as the Atlantic gets better breezes. There is no question gulf side sunsets can't be beat. For people with kids, St. Augustine, Stuart and Sarasota all have fairly affordable housing near the coast with highly rated school systems. Personally, I am considering a move to Stuart or Satellite Beach next year.

Great video as always, Michael. I could listen to you all day. The convenience of TPA to the Tampa/St Pete area is 🔥
There's one thing that's extremely attractive to me about T/SP & doesn't get much play in online circles (maybe it's b/c it only applies to my situation 🤪...but I can't be the only one! 😂)
Aside from MCO (in Orlando), TPA looks to be one of the very few airports in Florida that I can fly to/from nonstop 365 days of the year to MKE. With the majority of my family residing in Wisconsin, that's a big plus for me.

Florida: home of the worst drivers. Unfamiliar road patterns from up north and older folks. Aside from the drivers, I miss Florida. St Petersburg had everything I needed. Downtown is great even though everything has short hours. The parks, the beaches and affordability...all good. There's a reason the housing went up 30%.

Hi! What are your thoughts on North Port? I believe they are part of Sarasota County? I’m looking to relocate in August ’22 from California. I’m just now doing all my research and it sure is overwhelming. Thank you 😊
