Thanks. Yes, I realised a while back that the to do list will never get shorter so I’ll just have to move some of the items to a “one day I might do” list!
Nice job! Before adjusting carbs, you must make sure the cam and ignition timing are spot on. It's a lot easier to remove the carbs if the airbox was was removed first. This makes it much easier to remove the bottom nuts and washers. Also makes it a helluva lot easier to reinstall the nuts and washers! Since you have to balance the carbs after you reinstall them, it doesn't matter if you disconnect the arm/linkage that syncs them. Use a manometer to make sure all 4 venturis are breathing the same from idle upwards. When the timing and carb adjustment are correct, the Esprit will really be remarkable and smooth. Thanks for your videos!! Keep up the great work
1/4 inch drive torque wrench sold predominantly at cycle spares will do very small torque measurements. Invaluable for my mountain bike, Elan and Esprit
3:40 so with the oil filter under the carbs, do you have to go through this every time you do an oil change? Or can you get to the filter from underneath?
Also considering how much time you lean over the sides of the car to reach the engine, every owner should make a set of bumper covers to protect the paint from scratches.
Thanks for the video upload. Could you please tell me (us) where you located / purchased the parts from, particularly the rubber cam cover gaskets? Have you had a chance to test to see if the cover is now oil tight? Thanks again..
Ah - I don’t have a contact for the chap they came from it was through someone else - I’ll try and find out where they came from. Yes the cover now appears to be tight.
You could try these if yours also has the saddle type cam covers www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274061601637?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rMG3rzGMTTG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=-M8n6vMfTCa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Well done! Old cars will never be leak free in the long term. Being a perfectionist, I had to learn to live with it after 40 years of irrition.

@@SportsandGT Enjoy driving your Lotus and try to forgive it's errors and oddities and you will be happy with it!
@@edwinblank58 I will and I am! 👍🏻

Good tips. Thank you.

Cheers, yes I think I’ll get a much smaller one.
Your music is too loud, I can't hear you talking. This is exactly what we are doing this afternoon, thank you for the demo
Thank you. I’ve just listened back and couldn’t find any music, so I don’t know what you meant on that point.

Yes filter can be accessed from below I think.
My S3 has AN fittings and metal shielded hoses on the fuel lines. Apparently leaks are a common cause of fires.

Yes a worthwhile upgrade I guess. All the fuel lines up top were recently renewed but I may need to do the tank to tank to pump pipes shortly.
@@asennad yes, again another good idea. I do use an old picnic blanket but purpose-made pads would make life easier.
Hi. Thank you for video. How is rubber gasket in longer term? It’s free of leaks?
Hi. Mine is still leak free. I know of others with them which have been in place for years with no issues.
