✨ ABOUT ME
My name is Duncan and I am a Maths Graduate in Scotland with a passion for maths and relaxation! I am an ASMR UA-camr and plan to go on to teach maths at high school level in the coming years. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and to help me improve and get practice before entering the world of work I have created this channel to help people learn about mathematics at all levels all whilst having a good night's sleep.

To Anyone Wondering:
ASA: Angle Side Angle
SAS: Side Angle Side
RHS: Right Hypotenuse Side
SSS: Side Side Side
These are used to find wether 2 triangles are congruent or not. Congruent means they are the same shape but they might have unequal dimensions. For example, if a triangle has all 3 sides as 3 cm, then a triangle with all sides as 1.5 cm would be congruent with it because all sides will be divided in same ratio i.e.
3/1.5=2
Here, SSS rule has been used because we have considered only the sides of triangle without using angles. Similarly RHS,ASA ans SAS are used.
Actually, congruence means two triangles are identical, meaning they have the same side lengths and angles! Two triangles that have the same angles but different side lengths would be called "similar" and would indeed have the side lengths in proportion as you described :)
@@franklynboiling2347 oh yeah! I was wondering why my brain was not working properly while writing the comment. I was sure something was wrong:-)
Wouldn’t it be SAS because we know both are 90 degrees?
@@smo0ve209SAS means that the angle is basically in between the two given sides, so you have the length of one side, an angle and then the length of other side that touches the given angle if that makes sense😅
Not SSS, we will use RHS here. As RHS is applied when right angle is given, the hypotenuse is equal and any one remaining side given, it can be either base side or the perpendicular.
Unrealistic, not enough crying and prayers for spontaneous combustion.

dude im in 10th grade. this is super easy!
How much would there usually be

25:50 Simplest form it asks for, which is 3:5
i adore your math videos when trying to sleep dido its so relaxing :)
Thanks so much, appreciate it 😅
I did my IGCSE maths this summer and got a 7, which I was very happy with! I always admire mathematicians and people gifted in the subject. I’m more of a linguistics/languages person myself, but it’s always fun to see the subjects people enjoy and how good they are at them
Same i was rlly good at maths gcse but my passion is in language
Showed me up. I got a 4 which tbh I'm perfectly happy with. Hate maths with a passion and I have no intention of pursuing a mathematical career.
I'm doing history, law and criminology at college and so far its such a relaxing breath of fresh air.
Got the exact same
is a 7 good or bad
Definitely showed me up I got a one 😭
did my gcses earlier this year; having done some of these exact questions in practices, it’s quite nice to see
I love watching other people do math tbh. It's partly admiration because they're good at it, while I'm not. It's also very relaxing because I understand virtually nothing math-related so it's just me listening to rambling lol
Thanks so much dido for your help not only in this vid but in others, thanks to you in my gcse I got a 9 which I was happy about to say the least, thanks so so much for what you’ve done, keep up the good work champ!❤❤
When I was younger, I had maths tutoring lessons which was bizarrely relaxing to which I now know was unintentional asmr, didn’t learn much 😅
Hey! I actually printed the pdf of the question out and tried it at home while watching the video, great experience I understand my level of math better now
The dynamic audio with headphones is so cool!! thx ^_^
I have a maths mock tomorow and I couldn’t sleep so I went onto UA-cam to find some asmr , only
To come across your amazing Chanel , going over a gcse maths higher paper In asmr , literally couldn’t have been more perfect , thankyou 🙏
Great video!
While you got #22 right you had an "easier" route to the right answer after multiplying by 10, 2.33 repeating = 2*1/3 or 7/3, then just divide by 10 again to get to 7/30.
Love listening to exam asmr at midnight when I have exams tomorrow, auuuughhhh
Was just looking for an ASMR video, then I got a discord notification that you uploaded. Perfect timing
Nice quality, many tingles!
These videos help me both relax and help me revise for my maths exams
pen and paper are back!
Yessir!
It’s so nostalgic in this day and age

Subscribed to both of your channels since I fell asleep to one of your videos earlier (which is rare for me) :) also I would love to see you explain system of equations elimination / subtraction ! I have a test on it soon and barely understand it
love this! so helpful too!
Thanks this will help me have an idea what to do in future exams
Best of luck in your exams! I’m sure you’ll do great when they arrive
Watching this the night before my maths exam to try get me to sleep and also revise at the same time 😂
I love watching other people teach like my school teaches so so much differently and has different terminology I love seeing the different teaching styles ect
Did my maths paper 1 mock today, this paper had some similar questions glad to see I got some concepts right
I remember doing this paper last year back when school used to stress about gcses. Oh how time flies.
Its really heart warming to see that this exam is this easy!!!!!
Got my gcse maths paper 1 in 8 hours. can’t sleep, rather watch your video. Worth watching
I like how you explain the Quetions
Currently taking A-Level Maths and I miss GCSE Maths sooo much 😭 GCSE Maths was fun
whatttt??? my first time watching an asmr studie video!🤐🤐🤐🤐 no words to say!
Nice dido, I could have done with this for my GCSE lol. I did this for my GCSE and got a 6 :D Thanks Better late than never haha.
math and asmr go hand in hand. they put people to sleep 😂
oh god i sat this exact paper 2 years ago now. gcses 2022 was wild being the first batch after covid
Perfection!
this video has come up at a very convenient time , i’m tryin to get a paid job but given i didn’t pass math , i feel like that’s quite a big factor ! especially with it bein a part for jobs , so i’m currently tryin to find a way around that and to be able to get a chance to get the grades needed , definitely needed this like 😂
This was super tingly!
Glad you enjoyed!
Currently in year 11 (In England) and used to be class clown. Used to piss about with my mates, lob pens etc etc (just being knobs and never listening to teachers) but this year i’m trying my hardest to get my grades up!! Been studying very long hours to hopefully get grade sevens or above!! This is very helpful so Thank-you!!
good luck !!
@@laurjw._. Thankyou❤️ Have mocks in 3-4 weeks so will lyk how it goes :)
Good luck, I've also got my mocks soon
@@pizzalover1525 You too!!!
My life is upside down :(
oooo warm inside ear, thank u
My revision for my mock tomorrow
I love this
These terms are the congurency criteria for a triangle.
ASA - Angle, Side, Angle
SAS - Side, Angle, Side
SSS - Side, Side, Side
RHS - Right angle, Hypotenuse, Side
I’m literally watching this right now whilst revising for GCSEs as some form of subliminal 😂
I forgot how much I hated maths at school 😂
Bro's taking ASMR to a whole new level...
No way in god is this high school mathematics.. I remember being taught that in 7th lmao
Awesome!
how did you film this? wanting to film overhead with my phone for a video but can’t find anything or a set up
this is helpful cuz i have to do the same thing in about 18 months (they don’t let us do them a year early anymore)
this is giving me flashbacks to last year 😰
I wish my math papers were this easy
Watching maths to put me to sleep works 😂
Getting flashbacks from my time as a year 11 during exams about 10 years ago now.
Man this is so unfair why are the GCSEs in my country so much harder 😭😂 on a serious note tho what an amazing video as usual love the pen kn paper sounds
What country?
@@lightening_ward8121in france this is for middle school
At 25:54 wouldn’t the simplest ratio be 3:5 as 15 and 25 are divisible by 5?
So wish I’d come across this channel when I sat my maths gcse 2 years ago.. got a B tho!!
A straight line equation is y=mx+b to that also fits it
Or a slope formula
Seems a bit easy for a higher tier paper
My math teacher gave me a smarties because I was bored during a test
See, my old professors lectures put me to sleep. 30 minutes and I'm slumped
Why couldn't i discovery this channel when i was in year 11. I might've got my GCSE if i did
Also, most people do edexcel so maybe an edexcel paper would be beneficial to some
For question 8, simplest answer is ratio 3:5 😁
This brings me back, I got an F in gcse maths
Could you do one for edexcel please its my exam board
I got a U in maths when i was at school😭 failed all my GCSEs 😭 still dont have my maths, but im in uni at 25 so dont worry if you fail, you have other options😭
As a French student, I didn't undestand a single word of what you said (our school system is based on type of bread/bakerie)
Bro I’m in my gcse year rn and I’m so scared to fail them but I also can’t be bothered revising 💀💀💀
@@Mimi_6969big man do 20mins a night from tomorrow till your exam and your set. Mocks don’t matter.
@@Mimi_6969Please do. I never failed my GCSE’s but I have to live with the idea that I could’ve done so much better esp at A-Level. Revise and make it fun.
@@Mimi_6969If you revise you won’t be scared cause you feel prepared
Question 18 made me wish I could go back to yr 6 math
Probably the hardest thing i've ever had to do in my life (i failed my first maths exam at foundation lol) i resat 1 yr after and scraped a pass
Passed with flying colours years ago, just came to remind myself life used to be a whole lot worse
1:05:42 at this point the easiest thing would have probably been to write 2.3333333 as 2 + 0.3333333 = 2 + 1/3 = 7/3, and then divide by 10
That’s also a pretty good method!
Its secondary school not high school
Same thing
We go primary-high school
could you try a gcse foundation paper ❤
Aint no way this is a math EXAM 😭😭😭😭😭😭
It's by AQA which is why it's ez
I think I’m a little obsessed with math
im 16 and Polish and this test is a Polish middle school level lol
Yea people do this test in the UK at ages 15-16 but you can re sit them later in life if you pay
These videos remind me how bad at maths I am 😂
Only ASMR my mom approves of ❤
Proud of my grade 8 last year after getting a 5 in year 10, falling from being top 5% of the country in year 6
hey dido! im taking the PSAT next month. you have any tips?
Please do an Edexel paper :)
This is very useful, coming from a year 11 GCSE student
in 9th degree maths here in latvia we are learning the similar triangle's and i suck at it. got a 2 on the test
4) rhs (right hand side)
Taking notes 👀
Omg where was this when i was taking my GCSES
for question 8 it has to be in simplest form so it would be 3:5 instead no? i might be wrong but idk
for Q 23 R shouldnt have solid lines on the bottom and left
Around 11:40 when you are doing the question about congruent triangles, A stands for angle and S stands for side length. So ASA is angle-side-angle, SAS stands for side-angle-side and SSS stands for side-side-side. RHS is probably just there to throw you off. It's worth mentioning that the order of the letters matters, although I've tried and failed countless times to do it over text. Hopefully someone else can explain that part better than me through writing
the triangle is a right angle so there IS a hypotenuse side. so you are right as in it sort of throws you off, but it is still a possible answer Since RHS stands for Right Hypotenuse Side
Ok so when you are dealing with RHS that means right hypotenuse side. if the hypotenuse and side of one right-angled triangle are equal to the hypotenuse and the corresponding side of another right-angled triangle, the two triangles are congruent.
godsend for yr11 icl🙏
Nice video, but can i ask where ghetto doing this exam and what grade of hig school?
Can you do a sqa higer maths paper for maths non calc? Please
ASA is Angle side angle
RHS isRight Hypotenuse Side
SAS- side angle 📐side
SSS - side side side
They're not just English, they're done in NI as well
I always use that pen and end up snapping the plastic thing off like you have seemed to have done 😭
Being a 7th Grade CBSE student doing this and getting full marks makes me realize how privileged the British really are. 🤣
This is the easiest exam board. Most students in the UK actually take the Edexcel exam board, which is much much harder (but reasonable still)
if only my dmaths o/n/23 was this easy 😭
Can you do taking dia exam, its a exam for all the engineering schools for finland.
question 8 you can simplify the ratio to 3:5
Это что такое!? Мне хочется плакать... Если это сопоставимо по значимости с ЕГЭ по профильной математике или хотя бы с ОГЭ по математике, то у меня просто нет слов
in ques 9, another simple solution could just be 3/5 X 1/2 = 3/10.
Did a mock test to prepare for gcses and i did a test just like this on monday but it was foudnation meaning its a bit easier and you can only get a grade 5 maximum conpared to a grade 9 on higher tests
foundation is much easier much much easier
@gillyrocks24-7 how much easier?
Because after the test in my mates class we got to look through the mocks and the teacher said the 1st question on the higher paper is the 5th question on the foundation paper
I got an F when i did my GCSE Maths in school. I was tested for dyscalculia at A-Level and now I'm having to resit my exam at 28 so i can go into teacher training. If I'd known how much my difficulties with maths were going to affect me later in life, I would've tried harder if I could so I wouldn't have to deal with this stuff now. But for the life of me i cannot wrap my head around a lot of mathematical concepts. Any other subject, no matter how much i didn't care about it or was just disinterested in, i could still make an effort to get a pass. But in school the only things i was good at were art and history. Numbers have just always felt like a foreign language to me that I'll never fully be able to comprehend.
good luck bro
