Honestly I think the biggest issue is the mother; not the actress, the part. The role is honestly very boring and repetitive. The songs are kind of eh for her. They went with such a weird stereotype that just didn’t flush out with the rest of the show. She’s incredibly out of place. Her songs feel like they’re from a different show. Also imo I think they revealed Kelly’s death way too early.
@@ЗояКалайджиева I feel like they could have made it seem like they had a major falling out (as many do their senior year of high school) and then it be revealed that she died at the end of the first act.
@@ЗояКалайджиева oh I didn’t realize it was only one act. I’ve always taken The Mad Ones as the end of an act. I still think that The Mad Ones should be the death reveal. The show doesn’t have high enough stakes and enough build. That’s why it doesn’t have the impact that it absolutely could.
I just found out about this musical like a week ago and I fell inlove with it. I love the soundtrack and it helps me with my grieving process. I lost my grandad to covid last year and I’m still mad and sad I didn’t get to say goodbye. And this scene really gets me every single time. I wish I could see this masterpiece in person.
Aubrey Ghaffary On Kerrigan-Lowdermilk’s website page for this show, it lists the songs and some of them have audio tracks. Not all of them do, though, and I am pretty sure that it’s not this cast just from listening to Remember This; it sounds very different overall, actually.
The cast album was released in 2019, this show ran at the end of 2017. But the official cast recording is THIS cast and the latest versions of the songs. It's amazing, and has some speaking between songs so if you listen from start to finish you really get the whole idea of the show.

Me too bud
Truly one of the better musicals i've listened to. I'm astonished that it's not more widespread. So touching and real.

@@jenna_momo I agree about the mom. But the whole musical is Sam trying to let go, so I don't think the reveal was early.

@@jenna_momo The show is just one act tho.
I understand where you are coming from. But I respectfully disagree.

1:27 - My heart! The hand grab between sam and kelly!

Me too - especially with these 2 actresses.
So sorry for your loss...
Really wish that this had been recorded for a cast album! I prefer this to the other version, for sure.
Char Ley is there a soundtrack tho?

There is a cast album that’s been released. This is the version on it and it’s SO good.
