Wow this looks bigger than I thought! I have the Tie on Pre Order and not the X wing since I got the MYC version coming. But the price by FL are reasonable. Their pieces are really nice for the monies! They did a Boba Blaster and Han Blaster and they all look really cool! They've got some stuff coming out as well with the Falcon, Ywing and other ships and statues! Can't wait!!!

That look good for the price. I got 2 resin studio scale X-wing kits I bought years ago back when could get them for around 200 dollars from starship modeler web site but I have yet to build them.
Actually really like how this one turned out -- but man, wish that base wasn't so massive so I could have more display options
Yea I think if they cut it down by half, this would be much easier to work with. Otherwise its a killer piece for the money

Lights are handy, but I pretty much never turn them on, so this x wing is A+ for me especially for the price too. Looks beautiful.

It needs to have the light up feature just like the prototype did that make it all worth it since you're going to spend the extra money and get the tie fighter well.
I don't think this one had light up features in the prototype.
You're confusing this with the MYC X Wing which has electronics. Different company. This X Wing is by Force Laboratory. This never had electronics when first introduced.
I would advise you to make a dark grey wash instead of a blac kwash. Black washes gives a cartooney look. Grey is more subtle and gives a more ILM look, even though ILM rarely used washes. What you really need is an airbrush and misting some greys in some areas of the X wing, and repainting the base with a much lighter grey, and some beige tones on some panels, like the original

Thats the problem I m having. Its nearly twice the size of the base that MYC provides. Kinda not feeling how it fits in the display cabinet. Even if it looks incredible.

ILM never painted their models that clean except for Red Leader. These were painted with a beaten up look because they would wash out under the studio lighting so George Lucas decided to have them painted to look dirty and old with a heavily used look to them Since they had to be painted with panels to break up the white they had to make sense by adding laser blasts and soot everywhere so that they would look the part. Don't kid yourself - that model wasn't built by any of the ILM crew and therefore doesn't have the look that it would've had if they had built and painted this. I'm sure that you're aware of the model forums. Look for reference from them. There are hundreds of photos to choose from. This will give you an idea of whose models are most accurate to the originals.

I think they will be. I have been in talks with MYC and showed them this in person so they can get an idea of the color. Somewhere between this and MYC would be the perfect color for me.

Yea I am pretty impressed with it. Just a little more weathering and cutting down the base by half would be perfect for me. But overall its very good for the price.

If it comes with a TIE fighter it needs to be Darth Vader's TIE fighter not just a regular.
They are coming out with Darth's ship so you can switch the tie out with the X1.
