- FRAGRANT CUMIN RICE by Su’s Cookbook ❤️
Ingredients: Rice
1 cup long grain basmati rice (pre-soak for 30 minutes and drain, set it aside)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp cumin seeds (jintan putih)
3 bay leaves
2 star anise
½ lime (juice)
Ghee for cooking
2 ½ - 2 ¾ lukewarm water
Salt & vegetable seasoning powder to taste
Garnishing: Fry in little ghee until golden
Sliced onions, cumin seeds, cashew nuts, green chilli.
Fresh coriander leaves
Steps:
Heat up 2 tbsp ghee over medium low flame. Add in the bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, 1 tsp ginger- garlic paste. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, turn off the flame. Then, add in the rice. Mix well.
Add in some salt and seasoning powder to taste. Transfer it to the rice cooker.
Pour in the water and squeeze a little lime juice & add a little coriander leaves. Allow the rice to cook.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and fried onion-cashew mix. Enjoy!
