There may indeed be a ton of adventure game designers out there.. but there is only one who founded the industry, and gave birth to the adventure game genre as a whole and that was Sierra On Line and Ken & Roberta Williams..
"Go get em" Ken? Surely you mean go round up the competition and bring them to your house/yacht so you can personally honor them? Is this how Sierra stayed cutting edge in the industry so long? :D Good job Ken and Berta, love you no matter who wins.
what sort of a hall of fame for adventure games is it if it doesn't start with them as part of the base included people? (rock'n'roll hall of fame had an initial batch of inductees that included elvis, buddy holly, james brown etc)
We couldn’t find ANY official Hall of Fame where the inaugural class was ushered in without a vote, including the RnR. We could be wrong of course. We wanted to make sure everything is above board and done without question of favoritism.
@@AdventureGameHotspot ah then. if you'll take x amount of people in then it makes sense. not sure how the rock'n'roll did it, did they they just have their staff or board members vote it or include public to come up with the initial batch.
@@lasskinn474 our committee decided the nominees and then industry professionals, gaming media and the like voted, resulting in the 5 members of the inaugural class. I’m pretty sure every will be satisfied with the class 😀
Thank you to organizer Joshua Cleveland for the idea of an "Adventure Game Hall of Fame" but frankly he has insulted Ken & Roberta by asking them to "compete" along with other nominees. They are the industry pioneers. They along with Will Crowther, Don Woods (Colossal Cave) and Scott Adams (Adventure International) should be invited as honored guests and installed as part of the inaugural class. They should NOT be subjected to the indignity of a "competition". Again thanks to Joshua Cleveland for the concept though - with this small adjustment it will be a lovely ceremony!
I am rooting for you both!!! HALL OF FAMERS.
Go, Ken and Roberta! I will be rooting for you. :-)
Still have fond memories over Sierra games after all these years. They were always Hall of Famers in my childhood.
Always rooting for these two!!

I wish these two could be my uncle and auntie.
Lol Ken. That's awesome.
They are such a lovely couple, as always!

How lovely to see that the games that shaped my childhood came from such sweet people :D technology-hippie has been my jam as well :D
I vote for Ken and Roberta!!!

*Space Quest II Theme* followed by Kings Quest III Theme
Ken Allen actually performed his unused theme song for Space Quest 5.
@@AdventureGameHotspot Mind pointing me towards "unused stuff" and "betas" regarding Sierra games?

@@AdventureGameHotspot OK fair enough 😁. Thank you again for the initiative.
