I used to be semi-professional Belly dancer bymyself. started 1988 in Berlin, Germany. Used to live for 7 years in Boston, therefore 2 of the dancers here I know/knew in person!
ANSUYA, the best ever. Nobody compares to her. Female Empowerment, trance, kalas, technique, harmony, body and control, excelent breathing technique, sensuality and beauty. She is an incarnate goddess when she dances (Kali, Parvati, Durga, Sarawasti an so on). There'll never be another one like her, her personal power is beyond of anybody. There's an old video in which her presentation is still considered the best presentation of a bellydancer. It's just fucking awesome.

Watched this over 10 tears ago....on dvd!!!!!
Now in 2023.. we perform with Wings of Isis...with LED lights... IN FIGURE skates!!!!!!! All over the ice!!!!!! With double veil too.. and yes... in my hockey skates too!!!!!!. With double batton too... variety of props... on ice.

@Catherine Davis it's because management runs it as a business. All the girls do is dance and travel, so even if they want to add weight it's impossible for them. Also they want them all to be the same because they all share costumes, so they have to the same size.
