Your Book Club Cardigan is stunning. Be very proud of it. With regards to gauge, you are not alone. Most people will get stitch gauge but the row gauge still be off. That’s adjustable while knitting so nothing to really worry about. Beautiful Into the Wild Sweater. Your colorwork is perfect. Wow, very impressive. I don’t think how your floats look matter, it’s the outside that is important. Moving is scary and exciting too and awesome you will be able to get to wear your knits more and also you will be able to make more without worrying about not getting much use of them. Your speckled socks are beautiful. So glad you are back finishing your little cardigan. You are on the home stretch of it now. The Slightly Sassy V is very pretty. I like 3/4 sleeves but they are a pain putting into a jacket so I prefer long sleeves but it depends on the sweater and your personal preferences. The Step by Step Cardigan will be awesome in the tweed yarn. Mary Maxim is great. There is nothing wrong with acrylic yarn, some is better than others and yes, they have their place. They don’t block well for me so if it’s a stitch pattern that would really need to be blocked, I find wool or wool blend better. I do remember the squeaky sound. I still use some acrylics but I mainly use metal needles now. A great podcast. Enjoy your knitting.

Thank you! I was hesitant to try, as my friend said throwing English style would ‘take forever’! But I want to try just with my English throwing as I’m inspired by you!

I just found you this morning through your everything I made! I am definitely subscribing. You are such a natural in front of the camera! I have only been knitting for 2 years but I have wanted to start a UA-cam for so long and just keep making excuses. I’m not if I ever will but it always feels good to see newer knitters on here being brave ❤

You’re an amazing knitter for a newish knitter. I lo ve your latest and you’ve inspired me to try the book club cardigan for myself. I’m also a newish knitter and not yet done a cabled sweater, so this will be a challenge- but your results have inspired me! Thank you!

I would also lose my mind making that cardigan. So far I’ve avoided anything thinner than worsted. Honestly, I’m a big chunky sweater fan and when you move to a colder place, maybe that’ll suit you more too!! For now, I’ll be casting on a sort of “palette cleanser” project. Just a super bright colorful comfy sweater with Drops Air. I’m starting to burn out on my other projects. Time for a change!!

It's so interesting; I find the ergonomics of big needles really difficult, so I don't typically go over a 4mm needle unless it's a hat or something small. I just can't knit fast with big needles.

@@christinehaylock8428That’s totally fair! The first thing I ever tried to knit was a bulky hat so I guess it just stuck. But I am about to start a fingering weight project and I’m really excited!

For your colorwork, work with the item inside out so your floats are forming around the outside. It’s just a bit extra enough circumference that it can really help keep your floats consistent. Also, Tin Can Knits has a great technique video on here for catching floats.

Your first colorwork is amazing! I want to try too-but heard that continental knitters do better (I knit English style and throw) can I still do colorwork by throwing English style?

I actually knit exclusively by English throwing! I think it worked out just fine but I think being able to do both English and continental could be helpful if you wanted to try it
