Not sure if its because the precats are stopping the crackle or im thinking maybe my fuel pump is old and not pushing enough, which would explain some other stuff, but it did pop. The problem with the cats is that it was too loud and raspy, and the drone was way too much. I had to get a magnaflow 5" which made it alot better

I mean if you tuned it up maybe, some mazda 6 S with the 3L can make up to 20 more hp just by changing the throttlebody, its a very capable engine fords been working on it for a very long time

@@sabiremon8347 never removed them. The car wouldn't take a sticker with exhaust intact, as the subframe was rusted through. Had several other issues, leaked badly and it wasn't worth sinking lots of money into. Still drove it over a year, sold it with brand new pads and rotors but the buyer blew up the tranny within a couple weeks.

So the Mazda 6 3.0 has two resonators? I took my muffler off an the big resonator. The ball shaped one an ran 2.5 all the way from where the two pipes connect to one an it sounds no where near as deep as this?

considering it does use a ford engine and its a 3.0L V6 it has that mustang style growl when straight piping... regardless it sounds beautiful, i have stainless steel for my straight pipes :D sadly to say, for those who has a 03 mazda 6 V6 please let me know if you ever had those rattle noise like a heat shield or w/e it is please let me know if you ever had it fixed and tell me what it is... i cant seem to find it anywhere D:

this is not a ford engine boss. dont listen to them, they lie about literally everything. if you take a look at the 1991 ford taurus SHO you'll notice it has the exact same v6, with the exact same design, and the same specs. this engine was built by yamaha, and it was carried over for this mazda. it is NOT a ford design.
Redemption V2 "Duratec" is a marketing name to describe engines that ford builds, but never DESIGNED. if you search up ford duratec, you'll see on the list that half of them are just a mazda L engine. again, take a look at the 1991 ford taurus SHO engine. its not called "duratec" but rather a yamaha engine. whatever ford said that the ford duratec v6 is porsche designed, built by them is a load of bullshit. this taurus im talking about literally has the exact same specs. the engine bay even looks the same. the only difference was the yamaha designed headers.

+Brady Randall So first thing i did was remove the mufflers and inserted in a straight pipe with 4 inch outlets. Then I removed the resonators. I have left the catalytic converters intact. I also have a K and N cold air intake.

Chris Watkins I did this to mine. Remove the mufflers only. They unbolt right after the “y" pipe you can see in the vid. You will get the same sound. Some interior drone but if you set the tips of your exhaust 1 or so inches out from where your rear bumper ends you will minimize drone.
So both resonators are removed and fitted with straight pipe. Then the mufflers are removed and straight pipe added with a four inch outlet. I have left the cats alone, in case care was to examined it would still meet emission standards

Trinity Tri-Cock , not back pressure , but the scavenge effect, which helps empty your cylinders during the exhaust valve phase . Engineered design your piping to have certain sizes, in certain spots. It's not just "open everything up and remove ALL restrictions".
Yeah ok. I really doubt he had 3 inch pipes on that thing the original size is like 2 inches. Even if he did, having 3" pipes replacing the mufflers wouldnt do any good anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it would effect the hp negatively if you straight piped it with the original size, because that would be a matter of exhaust velocity. As long as you don't make the size too big you should be fine. Again, I might be wrong, but let me know what you think.
Trinity Tri-Cock usually the experts recommend only upsizing the piping maybe 1/4 inch to a max of 1/2. A,so, most folks don't know that the resonator and mufflers are designed to help preserve low rpm torque. That's why when guys do a muffler and resonator delete They lose torque and a small amount of overall HP. They gain in the upper rpms. Headers and larger pipes do this too. So unless the guy wants to stay reved above 4000 all the time, he will see a drop in low end. Unfortunately that's where most Daily driven vehicles need more help...in the low end.
Christian Rupp done this to mine. Fortunately I live where no testing is done but I have it on good authority it will not due to sound. Sound is also an emission.
Had the mufflers done about a month ago, but i had just done the resonator today, and I absolutely love it. No resonator makes a huge difference

exactly 2000 rpm was very loud, but that was the only rpm that really sucked

i found out where it was at.. the U-bend pipe on the rear precat and little metal ring fell down it
