Tracers are actually really good for dealing massive amounts of damage, specially big enemies like Caretaker. However, as showcased several time in the video, they consume ammo insanely fast, making them ineficient for most activities.
In case you didn’t realize Toad, Ager’s only has good dps (or above average I should say) when you use the alternative fire mode and consume your super. That’s why it wasn’t hitting as hard for you.
For anyone who doesn’t know, getting hit by Rhulk’s beams gives you stacks of pervading darkness, which will make you die sooner than others during final stand.
I love agers scepter. Use the catalyst and stack it with font of might and high energy fire and mantle of battle harmony and you have insane dps as well as the best ad clear weapon in the game
If you want a cool stasis build. Try out some crystal and shatter builds with disparity! The stasis aggressive pulse. The hakke origin trait lets it kill a crystal in two bullets out of its burst and it also just has goated perks. That think is the best non exotic stasis primary in the game
@@krownedkhaos4281 winter’s wouldn’t be all too good because you’d need to get an add kill every ~5s to refresh the buff, rather than just permanent 200% buff uptime with synthos.
You could put lead from gold on a crafted trace, then if you equip double special you get more heavy drops. After that all you need to do is shoot a rocket in the air to pick up the heavy bricks and boom you got more special ammo
@@samwbutcher this season’s trace rolls with voltshot, it’s either that or retraced path with incandescent for me most of the time now. Double special + a heavy ammo finder is insanity, the sheer amount of bricks is borderline unfair
I have all of them. Augers has to be my favorite. With a void, arc, solar in the energy or power slots. Just whatever fits for whatever you're running. I also am very fond of running double trace ammo finder with trace rifles in both kinetic and energy slots. So much fun.
To answer your question, it depends on the build you create around the trace rifle. I don't have any raw damage numbers but with the mods we have currently, Cold Heart is a top tier dps weapon. I think it slightly out plays Aegers. Both are top tier on warlock.
Also remember that the person using agers isnt guaranteed to get the shatters from their own freezes so you inflate other peoples damage numbers by them shattering your freezes
Having two specials equipped increases special ammo drops, since special ammo doesn't drop while killing with a special, unless you have two. The small ammo drops from ammo finder mods ignore this though
If you build an arc warlock for ionic traces and have cold hart and the new exotic helmet for ionic traces it’s a pretty sick build. Traces give you more grenade energy for more damage, rift for survivability and they also make cold hart fire at full damage for longer
Aegers is undeniably the best dps trace rifle if you have the catalyst. The catalyst triples it's damage output while freezing and shattering all at the cost of draining your super. If you're running warlock you can use either mantle of battle harmony while on stasis subclass to regen your super extremely fast, or you can use geomags since for some reason the super drain is treated as if it's a mini chaos reach.
A challenge idea I think would be cool is "The OutBreak Challenge" Everyone can only uses Outbreak perfected and use an exotic armor piece that has a Siva Ornament (the ornament is not required)
Outbreak is actually REALLY good for boss DPS. The only catch is that EVERYONE has to use it because the gun damage stacks with other people nanites too.

Edit: Coldheart and agers can get up to 80% damage buffs, coldheart from sustained damage, and agers in catalyst. Wave splitter works best when volatile flow is mod since volatile plus high damage buff. Prometheus can ignite once every ~10 seconds alone. Ruinous does 30% more if the target was hit by a sphere. and div is div.
While using agers you can use the stasis fragment that increases stasis explosion damage for even more DPS. Combine with the free dps from stasis turrets and I feel like stasis 'lock should've been a mainstay of this team, alongside void hunter

Ager’s is seriously underrated IMO. I always use it when I can in nightfalls cause the ad clear with freezing is incredible, and it definitely is one of the highest dps’ing trace rifles so you’re not missing out on much for a special ammo weapon.

@H13n12 Nah man definitely not. I was running double special literally yesterday and the amount of purple I was getting with no finder mods on is ridiculous. Try it and you'll see. For reference my build was Ager's, explosive personality and palmyra
Gotta give my "Fav trace" point to Ruinous Effigy. I'm a Void Warlock main so it suits my loadout plus the spheres it creates are fun to use. It's hilarious to just run into hordes of adds and just slam it down or slowly kill them with the shield drain.
Ruinous Effigy is surprisingly great with invis hunter. Pro tip: if youre invis when you pick up the ball, you can use the guard aura attack and not get taken out of invis.
Aegr's is ridiculous with the right build. Stasis subclass with elemental shards + elemental time dilation + 3xfont of might give you a damage buff with stasis weapons for 20s and you only have to break your stasis ice grenade shards. With the catalyst + damage buff you can do EXTREME amounts of damage for a long time.

But, with the Umbral sharpening mod on a piece of the raid gear it can sometimes be beneficial to get hit by a beam during dps for some extra damage

I think agers has a more consistently higher dps with a full build because it can self proc font and even high energy fire with the catalyst

agers scepter is probably the strongest trace in this since you can run another trace with it
but the ammo problem would be insane. ager is way more than powerful enough to just run it on its own.

You know with mod changes in Lightfall I feel this would be much easier. Being able to constantly produce ammo and almost constant surge mod uptime.
Optimal dps should be aegers, because you can super charge it immediately and it's easier to get font of might on stasis weapons

Yeah, Ager’s with catalyst is cracked. I use it for DPS in King’s Fall and it keeps up remarkably well.
