Coach Nick utilizes a little help to properly express his opinions on many of the plays of the 4th quarter and overtime, as the Heat snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. LeBron saved his legacy for one more game, after committing two turnovers late that under normal circumstances, would have cost the Heat the game and the championship.
I am always in for a treat when Coach does breakdowns.
what's with all those stupid annoying movie clips? just show and talk about the game
Nice job Coach Nick as always, you confirmed my observation that Manu is just playing physically in this series, but his mindset is totally off Manu-iche.
Why he is so damn red?
Coach you say the coach swalllowed their whistles on the foul Bosh commited on Green, but what about that obvious illegal screen Splitter set on Ray to even make Green open in the first place?
I personally liked those video clips. It was fun, keep it up Coach.
movie clips were really funny.... not sure if we need them on every video, but I was cracking up all the way through..... nice idea and full marks for trying something different. Analysis very sharp as always.
Hey coach, in case you hadn't noticed, the scoreboard in the beginning was for game 5
I enjoyed the clips in the video. Those who disliked it don't understand dry humor, or perhaps they've never seen any of the movies shown. Keep up the good work.
Wow what a downer to see some of the comments here. Nick is a phenomenon, we all agree that he is incredibly insightful and hardworking on these videos. I've learnt so much and literally changed the way I see (and play) the game. Unfortunately a lot of young people find it hard to concentrate through unfamiliar or unexpected stuff, and are perhaps too young to recognize most of the movies. For what it's worth I was laughing all the way through and really enjoyed it.
Idk what people are talking about, I loved you using the clips! proshotcoach does it too, I enjoy it! Also coach, do you think it's possible LeBron prefers to catch the ball further out and face up? He rarely looks like he wants the deep post position..
So this is why Coach Nick has been uploading vid late apart from preventing spoesta from watching them before the game
i agree. Clips actually represented my thoughts and what I was thinking.
can you do a comparison of the Heat's spacing when Dwade is on/off the floor? I think the key to Lebron's domination in the early 4th was the lineup of Lebron, Birdman, Miller, Allen and Chalmers and unsurprisingly, when DWade comes back for Miller, it seemed like the court got too crowded again, preventing Lebron's drives
This breakdown is so hard to get thru because of all these movie clips. I watch you like a second Espn, this is not why I subbed. I subscribed because your analysis is top notch. So plz dont treat us like children, the analysis is enjoying enough to hold our attention. We respect you, plz respect us. Thx coach. Thumbs up so he can see this.
greatest coaching blunder in SPORTS history. greg popovich has completely tarnished his legacy forever.
He is trying new things to see what works. keep it up coach!!
I think what many people didn't like was the fact that so many clips broke down the flow of the video. It felt a bit sluggish with so many (un)related clips between *every* breakdown. I think it would be okay with one reference, but having one between every bball video makes it feel like we're watching an over-publicized product. Keep on doing your excellent breakdowns though :P it's all right to innovate, but I think you went a little bit over the limit here
This was great, I loved the way you added in some movie clips. It really made for a good laugh at least i thought your selection and placement of the clips were spot on.
seriously. no movie clips. the original breakdowns are already great
"A player who comes to a stop on step one when both feet are on the floor or touch the floor simultaneously with both feet may pivot using either foot as his pivot foot."
To my knowledge that best describes exactly what Lebron did. When he picked his dribble up, he didn't take an extra step before coming to a jumpstop, therefore not a travel and can establish either foot as his pivot. It's all about context really. It's good to hear different opinions though. :D
I appreciate the warning about the scary movie clips coach, i eat while i watch these breakdowns
love the clips! keep using em!!!
You don't get a pivot foot on a jump stop.
From NBA rule book
3. On one foot, the player may jump off that foot and simultaneously land on both; neither foot can be the pivot foot.
They were both off, but they also fought tooth and nail to win that game. Neither team would stay down or fade away.
Freshening it up with SOME clips is not such a bad idea. But you overplayed it as in the end too many clips were just there for their self purpose instead of just underlining your opinion. Other than that: Nice capture of the game, as usual. Keep it up!
It was.
Lebron didn't travel at 2:35. It thought it looked kinda weird at first but I watched the replays a couple of times.
He hops, collects his dribble, and lands on both feet. In this case, you are allowed to establish either foot as the pivot foot.
If he had collected his dribble first, then hopped and landed on both feet, he couldn't pivot with either foot. Then it would've been a travel.
I THINK he has admitted that some time ago, since the Spurs play actual team basketball whilst the Heat rely mostly on natural talent
He took a gather step BEFORE the jump stop -that's what makes it a travel..
Coach Nick, this was hilarious and a fantastic video.
Jesus Christ, Ray Allen saved LeBron's legacy. LeBron messed up with those passes late in the fourth. LeBron said it himself: "Sometimes you need luck to win a championship." He's right, the Heat were very lucky to win these NBA finals.
We love your analysis of these games Coach Nick, not these analogies.
I will really really want back the Acttual mature breakdown.
With no movie scenes, less analysis on states, but more on Position and breakdown Plays
Great Breakdown but the movie clips are a bit excessive. Can't believe the NBA season is coming to an end. Hopefully game 7 is half as entertaining as game 6.
Please break this down again without the clips! Thanks coach!
Loved the break down, hated the clips. You've sold us with your breakdowns, we don't come for humour! Your breakdowns are entertaining enough!
What happened to the breakdowns? Can you hear me shaking my head?
Coach in the start of your vid you have game 5 stats not game 6, i dont know if this is intentional or not.
"they let them save 5 seconds which comes in handy later" LEGENDARY
i personally like the movie clips. i bet it's harder than you think to keep those videos interesting and it gives the video some extra time.
I like the clips coach. Keep up the good work.
Coach if you have so much time (I mean those fancy movies clips) please upload some extra breakdowns. For example how Manu went off in Game 5 and disappear the rest of series or something similar.
hes not a hater. He breaks down basketball games
LMAOOOOO DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE HATING, THIS IS BY FAR HIS BEST VIDEO , THIS PEOPLE HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR, OR MAYBE THEY ARE HEAT HATERS
Coach...you're a fool for this one. Loved all those movie clips. Do you think that Spo should reduce the amount of time Wade and LeBron spend on the court together given that LeBron looks like a different (as in great) player when Wade is on the bench.
Please dont put those movie clips in again... it ruins the great breakdown. It would have allowed you to put even more analysis in as well.
Hey Coach, why does the first template in the beginning show Game 5 score and stats? Great breakdown btw
Keep 'em coming coach. I love the Animal House clips.
Praises need to be given to Coach Erik, he kept his team mentally in the game when they were down. Coach Pop made bad coaching decisions in the final minute in overtime."Coach Erik out coached Coach Pop"
Coach, i think put duncan into the bench in the end of 4th quarter is a bad idea because they cant grab the defensive rebound, right?
Coach, i know thats a travel by manu but the nba hasnt called travel for a long time
so isnt there a contract made by ray allen's left hand on manu's right arm during the lay up?
Good breakdown coach, however putting a movie clip after every point you brought up made this hard to watch.
yeah coach, no disrespect but yeah the small movie clips isn't really helping. but thanks for trying, shows that you try a lot to provide entertainment and breakdowns for us! appreciate it but yeah the videos aren't cutting it abit
it's when defender of screener is showing up to stop ball handler until his defender pick him up again. it prevents easy drive
Random clips? Seriously Coach Nick, is bballbreakdown having a breakdown? :)
Some of the movieclips were fine, others were out of placed and seemed forced. If you have to explain why a clip is being shown then it's probably out of place and forced.
The movie clips were hilarious and great insight too, another great video coach!
why did you mention Lebron travelling, but didn't mention Parker traveling at 3:56?
the picture with the score and the stats werent game 6, huh? it even says game 5 at the top
M. Ginobili: 24 Pts, 2 Reb, 10 Ast?
Maybe in Game 5, but not in Game 6!
people are going to complain whenever they are changes... just keep it up coach and they will get use to it after this
Im sorry Coach I dont like the video clips at all... Theyre getting very distracting from the actual breadown..
Surprised there's no comment on the Spurs illegally subbing Duncan back in while the Refs were reviewing Ray Allen's 3 with 5 seconds left in the 4th
Actually, once you do a jumpstop you are not allowed to pivot, as the referee doesn't know which foot is your pivot foot. This is all in the rulebook
We need no Hollywood clips !!! Its the finals !!! Great analyse as always coach !!!
Coach nick I'm a big fan of your video but I feel that this one has some unnecessary cut scene which makes the video irrelevant in some parts, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work !
Coach do you think the spurs will win game 7 and recover mentally from this tough loss?
some of the clips are too long, at most three lines please
Coach thats your best breakdown ever, so funny!
in a pick and roll, when the ball screen defender temporarily leaves his man to guard the ball handler, preventing them from penetrating or getting an open shot. they don't switch permanently, just long enough to stop a bucket, then they switch back.
hope it helps, not too good at explaining
seriously the funniest bball breakdown ever
Am I the only one who actually didn't mind this breakdown? I mean, it was a special video for a special game.
I was sitting row 5, actually you can see me a couple times in the video but that's besides the point. Insane that Chris bosh block from an angle no one else saw it accept people at the game on that side. That block was clean.
Spurs were in a huge lead with 5 points with maybe 30 seconds left. Some may argue that isn't much but you look at it this way 4 FTs were given to Spurs to stop clock but that is also 4 FTs to pull even further away. Secondly the crucial turnover that Lebron had was huge and the both 3's that James and Ray made were from broken plays. Lastly, Manu had 5 seconds to attack the rim from transition when it was up even. And you say Heat was not lucky?
Wow I think this is a record setting video in terms of Coach complementing Bosh in one game
How do you figure? My understanding is when you completely stop on two feet it is a jump stop. Which is also how I am interpreting this rule. I may be wrong on that...would have to hear it from an NBA official to know. I thought LBJ used a jump stop and traveled. What I posted before was straight from the NBA rule book. Just my view on it. It's hard to know the difference between watching NCAA and NBA the rules on traveling are so different.
hey coach, you have the wrong stats up in the beginning!
this game was theres. sigh. this was so devastating.
Coach Nick, how much blame do you put on Lebron if heat loses game 7?
Coach you need to revisit your rule book, James jump stopped on that so called "travel" up faked, and took a step through. He hasn't established a pivot foot yet and the move is entirely legal
Awesome breakdown, coach!!! May i request to see you breakdown the rest of the 55clips?
Game 6 has got to be the saddest game for the Spurs and the luckiest game for the Heat as Spurs had bazillion chance of closing this game out.
Innovation is often needed for a channel to maintain viewers, often requiring trial and error to fully grasp what the fans want. In this case, take the majority of the fans advice and stick to your straight-forward, non-comedic analysis. In the meantime, come up with new ideas you want to try while closely keeping your fan's responses in mind. Lastly, thank you for providing needed analysis to the nba as no one else provides as quality a presentation as you.
If you look closely in the beginning of the video above the stat line it says game 5
I hope you see this, Coach: Coach Nick attempting comedic clips is like Bosh attempting threes back in Game 1. Can you hear me shaking my head?
This is one of those games where you look back and you realize the reason that the Heat was even close was because of the refs. Especially because of the fouls on Tim Duncan earlier in the 4th quarter, after those obvious missed fouls the Spurs just stopped going to Tim Duncan because he was not getting any calls while getting fouled and missing shots. The Heat made amazing shots at the end, yes, but they should have been down by 10 in the last 20 seconds, not down by 5.
Its not LeBron's legacy, its his reputation.
I take it you are not a fan of the heat, as you analyze the Spurs' game much more than the Heat.
Was there anything wrong with the clips? No... however there was a bit of overkill..
Coach. Are you going to do a recap like you did in 2011? That was epic!
If Tony Parker would've made that first FT, Kahwi Leonard missed a FT, Ginobili missed a FT, Duncan was benched, and Ginobili Turnover. 5 STUPID mistakes that should've had the Spurs in 6 games
i think is legal to take a step after a jump stop.
If u see how post player play, like hakeem, u see how he did a slight jump and spread how his foots wide part making either legs a pivot. This allow him to have 2 options.
Coach Nick. Good breakdown clip as always. But I think this time a bit too much for those movie scenes. As your voice is a bit weak and those scenes are so loud, it makes my ears sick when those scenes come. Just my opinion. Thanks for the great vid!
when was it? was it the one on ray allen at the end to get green open?
the rule is referring to a pro-hop, not a jumpstop
Coach Nick seems rather frustrated that the Spurs lost...
This guy under me is clueless you do realize Lebron is still on the heat unless kobe gets a superteam in his prime lebron is untouchable
sorry coach, but i dont think these clips fit the theme
After the Finals what videos are you gonna make?
