From the thumbnail I thought it was HO scale cause all the detail. N scale is becoming a really good option for modelers with a 4 by 8 like me
They look very much like AHM HO models in 1975. Lots of nice rivet and valve details, but the giant flanges and the too tall rails required to run them. Unless you scratchbuild N it is pretty much still a common thing in RTR. A whole lot better than N RTR 1965-1995 though and appreciated.
Thank you James for the unboxing and review video of these two locomotives. Cheers, Rich S.
Hi James, I loved your review of the Mikado Heavy and Light models. I recently purchased the GN Heavy from Broadway Limited and found it to be all you said it is. I love all the sound options and detail. Thanks for all you do for the model railroad community. - Dean from MInnesota
I really enjoy and look forward to your N scale loco reviews. Thanks
Nice job James, those locos are very impressive looking and sound very real. Hope your move goes well and hopefully you won’t get ill again. I have been ill ever since the weekend so there is something going around.
Great job again James, keep it up. Hope you have a good night.😊❤️🌙👍🏻👍🏻
Between this and spookshow giving it an A I’m sold. Bought two. Would like to see it pulling cars though. Pulling power in curves and elevation should be a must for reviews. Thanks for the review video! You do them well.
Great 👍 Videos I really appreciate them and looking forward for the next!
Excellent review, very nice sounds, beautiful locomotives 🚂😍
Thanks for the review, and yes n scale is getting better for details as is HO is getting better too ....thanks for sharing....Jack
Nice reviews James nice looking and operating BLI steamers !
Great reviews, I just got one of the these your right they are nice! Thanks for posting
That Locomotive is awesome i wish i had one of those James.
Chuffs are timed to the the wheel position, Nice
.
yay more n scale nice review
Nice video James!
muchas gracias por el video
Just FYI James, I believe all BLI steam have 3 whistles to choose from.
Nice review, James. Like you, HO is my scale ... as my 63 year old eyes can't handle anything smaller! LOL!!! I also like Steamers that smoke, but at this small size ... smoking would stunt their growth! Sorry ... I just had to! LOL!!!
John Bellucci - I’m in my 78th year and enjoy O Scale narrow gauge for same reasons.🤓
@@lescobrandon3047 I'm 83 and model in N scale, no room for HO, or O gauge of which I have many Lionel Loco's and car's and Miles of track, from long ago
Nice rerview
Great looking locomotives.Nice details.Where were they manufactured?
N scail yes
I’m planning on getting one in the L&N lettering.
enjoyed the video, but you should do N scale like you do HO scale.... tell us how many cars it can pull ?
I just purchased one of these, awaiting UPS. HURRY!
nice
Strong puller, but it seems the tender wheels are the only electrical pickup. The tender is quite light in weight. Out of a couple dozen locos this is the only one that seems to need a keep-alive. If the track and the wheels on the tender are not perfectly clean the loco will stall and sputter. A four axle switcher on the same track has no issues.
If you can do without the sound and DCCn, get a Kato Mikado, which is an excellent runner and has fantastic detail!
only if they got the traction tire applied
The Kato I’d say it’s nicer and more modeler friendly then the BLI
I see alot of them for sale in broadways refurbished models for sale, it makes you wonder about quality control.
Looks nice but I've never had any luck with BLI DCC locomotives....
I would Buy that Steamer.
Good looking locomotives. Too bad you can't get them without the noisemaker.
You can turn the sound off, you will still pay for the sound features however
Hey Bob
BLI Paragon 2 and 3 are the Best Sound locos... Period.
To be honest, I do think I saw the bell move ever so slightly when you examined it if you look SUPER CLOSELY AT IT.
How does Broadway Limited perform compared to Bachmann or Atlas? Im not familiar with the Broadway Limited brand. Thanks!😃
Detail wise, its leaps above bachmann an most atlas models. Electronics and reliability wise, BLI lags behind with some known electrical issues
Already a toaster, just like the first release of the BLI AC6000’s in N Scale.
you don't do the tractive effort for N scale... was hopping to know how many cars it can pull ?
Wounderin if you guys Model Any C&NW Steamers?
Is it a Metal body?
I wish I had all the money you have but for what a 12 year old has for modeling it will do lol nice video
Ohio Railfan production are you 12?
why dont you present this on the track? ... just asking....
I Am thinking of Investing into A pair Of Great northerns A Diesel And a Steam.
I have bought far more of these then I care to admit.
Anyone got problems with their BLI N scale Mikado? Mine seems to have a pick up problem that i cant fix. Does anyone knows how to fix this?
I had a similar problem with my BLI sw7, try giving the wheels a very thorough cleaning and try some rail-zap
@@bigskypeach406 it seems im not alone.
I put one on a test track at the store, and noticed it had some issues-. Number 2 was perfect on the test track and has been at home.
2nd
That is a Baby, Do not hurt yourself lifting the heavy one stick to the light one.
H,k
I hate all the sounds, it just sounds like a recording. I remember when model trains actually had real whistles.
I turn mine off as it gives me a headache. I realize I am paying for something I am not usually using, but it looks and runs so great I do not mind.
