  • This was a most anticipated launch as Ondo State joined the four states in the Niger Delta with the YEP Project being implemented, which are Abia, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers states. The YEP project, which PIND has been implementing since 2018 with initial funding from Ford Foundation in its initial phase, has used the YEP Model to address unemployment gaps in the region and link young people to market-relevant skills.
Over the years, the project has trained over 7,000 young people and linked over 3,000 to waged employment or enabled them to start their business enterprises.
In its first year, the Ondo state chapter of the project will train over 360 young people in the region in Integrated Agriculture, ICT, Building Construction, and Services. The services include fashion, catering, and solar photovoltaic installation (SPVI). The training will be delivered by 5 implementing partners alongside a government partnership with Ondo State Board for Adult Technical Vocational Education (BATVE).
We look forward to showcasing the state's successes and participant impact stories in the coming months. To learn more about PIND's YEP Model, visit the link: pindfoundation....
