The thing about Black Panther is that Panthers aren't always black, it isn't redundant. Panther is the scientific term for big cats, so Leopards, Jaguars, Lions, things like that. A black panther refers to a panther that shows "melanism" (the opposite of albinism); so a melanistic jaguar, or a melanistic leopard.
