I’m growing a few varieties of these this year. I’ve loved these flowers since I was young and about 10 years ago found out you can eat them too. Love them!
I think that’s the best part about gardening, it continues through generations and all of those memories return every year. The smell of paraffin heaters and tomato plants does the same for me.
I’ve never grown Nasturtiums. I picked up some seeds the other day, as wanted a bit more colour at the plot. So will give them a try, hoping they’ll keep some weeds at bay as well. Good video Barry
Cheers Mark! They’re great for on the plot and they can grow quite dense if left to it which is handy. They readily self-seed and they come back every year too.
I love nasturtiums. I grow them almost every year in my front garden here in the US zone 4. I just throw the seeds in the dirt and press them down about 1/4 inch. It gives a very infomal riotous mass of blooming flowers. The little eyes on the leaves are my favorite. It's always a sad day after our first frost. The limp nasturtiums are still delicious, however.
I am growing a beautiful dwarf variety and hope to save seeds. Lots of lovely colours. Thank you Barry have a great week, Ali ☔️🌦️🇨🇦
That’s great Ali, I need to save more seeds this year I only had a couple from a hanging basket last year. I’ll keep an eye out for them!

Cheers Sean, Brilliant! I’m really keen to try making nasturtium vinegar with them. Definitely one of my favourites too!
Always plant nasturtiums, reminds me of my grandad who always had them in hanging baskets

Thanks for sharing your method Christine, it’s great to have something so dependable yet easy to grow. I hope they do well this year!
Nice video - what was the brown liquid you tipped into the freshly sown seeds? Thanks
Thanks! It’s a two part hydroponic nutrient solution Vitalink Hydro Max.
