  • In this video i install a ford 9 inch into the Mercury Marquis which is a foxbody so it will be the same on mustangs , thunderbirds, ltds, fairmonts etc..I show everything from installing the rear pumpkin, the axles and making brake lines. I also show how to install universal emergency brake cables. I also show how to stop ford rearend leaks. I also show how to install axles on a ford 9 inch and how to rebuild a ford 9 inch.

    Thank you so much for this video! I'm going to try using ultra grey silicone adhesive. I installed a QP 9" Ford rear on my '87 Monte SS. The passenger side seal leaks. Even after I took it to a reputable rear end shop the second seal leaked...

    Why was the diff so tight on the studs? That will be very hard if you need to remove it, I thought one of the benefits of a 9” was the ease of swapping out the gears.

      It might have been because it was the first time it was all assembled together..there might have been a stud that was off center very very slightly..but once everything is torqued down and mated together for a while, it should be alot easier to swap it out. Thanks for watching!!
