I enjoy the “inspectors around here would fail that”, “fire your contractor”, etc so common in comments on any trade. Don’t take it personally. UA-cam builders are like this on every channel.
ive never seen a step footing like that that was totaly disconnected from the other footing. that seems like a problem waiting to happen, as far as i know its a terrible idea to have 2 entirely separate footings for the same house, good luck with this
Thanks. The top wall sits on both as one piece. 2 years later all is good still. The inspectors don’t inspect this company. They do 95% of the foundations in this county is what the inspector told me.
My house and two neighbors were built like this in the last three years. It’s absolutely fine. It can be done for a walkout or if connecting a garage (and its slab) to a full basement. The gap is bridges with a long concrete block.
Terry is a good guy. I had him do my foundation last year. HSV is good too.
Well I suppose we are somewhat neighbors then. Haha

Thank you I appreciate it. I live in the house now so far so good👍 lol
Never thought I'd see a construction video with Ode to Joy :D :D
Is that the song?
Great narrative! It explains so well.
Thank you
This foundation without rebars?
That’s what they do around here apparently.
What about the pads for the lolly collums?
In the floor concrete
No Rebar ??????

It depends on what area you fall under in IRC . In D areas you need a continuous footing.
@@dawsondemontiney1247 how do I find out what area I’m in?

why not trench the walkout 3.5 ft rather than a footing and panels and save money on concrete, someone took money from you on that.
I’m the homeowner. No idea.
It was $8000 all together for 9 foot walls and a egress plus well I can’t complain
Great price. But no rebar is bad juju.
@@rumenocity1 I agree.
