    I think two campaigns at a time is perfect, it keeps it varied and you upload regularly enough so that everybody can get their fill of the campaign they enjoy most.

    I also agree with you in regards to the upcoming Warhammer game, i really want it to revitalise the series. Attila almost put me off, it wasn't objectively an awful game but i just didn't personally like it, i felt like i had wasted my money. Ottoman Empire is a Turkish empire and their language was Turkish. Arabic has influenced Turkish over many years but Turks did not speak Arabic.
    Nizam-ı Cedit means "New Order". Selim III founded it in order to modernise Ottoman army. They are one of the successors of Janissaries.

    you mentioned how the total wars are falling apart, in way Yes, but its mainly in a multiplayer stand point the only issue single player had was when some Num nut added the capture points in battlefields and had the AI bullrush one path to get to it, regardless of your army in the way, Atillia had a better single player launch, but multiplayer was a little herpa derpa, and i suspect the warhammer total war will be like Atillia, Derpy online but works single player just fine

    Understandable confusion, they are all languages typically spoken by Islamic countries and peoples. Arabic comes from the Arabian Peninsula, modern day Saudi Arabia (or where your Himyar campaign started). The Arabians would then unify under Islam in the 7th century and then would push out taking on the waning Byzantine and Sassanian empires. Within a century they get all the way to Spain and up to the borders of modern day India. Because Arabic was the language of the elites and the Qur'an, where they spread the religion the language was spread also, hence why even in places like Morocco they speak Arabic with the original Berber becoming a minority language.
    The Turks originally came from central Asia, around modern Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and so on. These populations became Islamic as well but were actually able to dominate the Arabs as they had become over stretched and started using the Turkic people in there armies. This allowed them to become a major power in there own right, often using the Caliph as their puppet as they moved West through the Islamic world. These Turkic people thus maintained their original Turkish language and a particular tribe who settled in modern day turkey, the Ottomans, would come to completely overthrow the last remnants of the Byzantine Empire and seize Constantinople in the 15th century. They would then change its name to Istanbul and make it their capital, ruling from here and modern day Turkey they would then grow as the power that would dominate the near East as the Ottoman Empire represented in this game. However their form of rule was very indirect, they were happy to take taxes but also happy to let populations under their control speak whatever language they like. This is why while the majority of the Middle East is Arabic speaking, they speak Turkish. So yeah, a long winded answer to your question.

    • @electronewage9787
      @electronewage9787 9 років тому

      +Benedict Manzin Considering that Anatolia and Thrace was Greek-speaking how come modern Turks speak Turkish?

    • @Mobsin-db8rq
      @Mobsin-db8rq 9 років тому

      Because the Turks came to settle the region of Turkey before pushing on against the last remnants of the Byzantine Empire. This essentially became their new homeland, so the people learnt Turkish. Greece was not there homeland and thus could maintain there language, only having to obey Ottoman laws and pay their taxes.

      How could a few thousand illiterate horsemen impose thier language and religion on millions of people so quickly?Greek was still spoken in Cappadocia in the 20th century but overall the vast majority spoke Turkish and were muslims.There was no Greece at the time obviously,the "Greeks" still had a Roman identity.

    • @Mobsin-db8rq
      @Mobsin-db8rq 9 років тому +2

      I honestly don't know the ins and outs of it, I haven't studied Turkish history specifically to such an extent, suffice to say, we both know that in Turkey they now speak Turkish predominantly, despite the fact, that like you said, in Anatolia they spoke Greek. The fact is that a few thousand horseman were able to dominate the area, settle it and successfully impose their culture. They were not Illiterate, they read the Quran, and using Arabic script were able to transcribe their central Asian turkic language and overtime create the Turkish language as we know it today. Disbelief that they could have done this does not change the fact that this culture originates in central asia and that Turkish is the primary language spoken today in Turkey
      Moreover to say the Greeks had a Roman identity is probably correct in the context of the Byzantine Empire, but the Eastern half of the Roman empire was always a Greek speaking one as the Romans had huge respect for the Greeks, seen often as the fathers of civilization. Greeks had kept their language throughout this period, an Ottoman empire was not about to change this entrenched identity.

    The official language was and still is Turkish but there are dozens of minority languages. Kurdish is the biggest minority language in modern Turkey but back then the Empire was larger so there would have been even more variation. It's always been a very culturally diverse place, since long before the Turks arrived.

    Heir in reference to your campaign schedule. I'm a big fan of the way you do things at the moment. Having a couple of different campaigns running at once means that there is bound to be content I find interesting, at least once a week. If you go onto doing only one campaign at a time I feel it'd negatively affect your viewership. For example, I can't watch Attila. Just doesn't do it for me, like these older games or Rome 2. So I don't watch it. So if you happened to do only an Attila campaign, I'd spend that few weeks watching no new content. And I'm sure I'm not the only bloke out there who'd do the same. Personal opinion anyway, love your channel mate have a good one

      Or you could you know not play them. I still haven't bought Rome 2 because I was really concerned about the bugs and AI however, after watching many of Heir videos I probably will get it when it goes on sale. If the game is broken here is a simple solution don't buy it and don't play it. Even if a game is broken it doesn't give you the justification to steal someone else's work. And don't give me the bs excuse I got to demo it look there are tons of let's players out there like Heir watch their let's play videos or read countless reviews there is really no excuse for pirating except for the fact you want to have it without properly rewarding the artist in the real world taking something that isn't yours or without permission is theft plain and simple the only difference between you and shoplifting is that the product is digital.

    please do not spread out the campaigns heir. I think that what you are doing now is providing variety to different viewers which might like one campaign over another. I don't think it's advantageous to only have one campaign to view because it really reduces the diversity of audiences as in age or interests. Have two total war campaigns would be reasonable because I will help you to focus on the campaigns more but still remain the styles of contents.
