    I seen George in concert over a half dozen times. It was truly an honor to spend an hour or so a night having the legend of country music entertain me.

      I have to admit I am jealous. There will only be one George Jones. No one will ever fill his shoes. I thank you for watching and sharing your experience with this one of a kind artist.

      @peterbetts858 this would have been late 80s, 88 or 89. Every year he came with Conway. Great shows. One year Loretta Lynn was with them. I was able to bring my grandmother who was born and raised in the hills of Corbin Ky. Huge Loretta Lynn fan. That's a show i'll never forget. 3 legends in Country Music. What a treat when her and Conway did the encore.

    As a military brat we lived in the southwest as kids. My first and only job as a teen was in record stores during the late 70s-early 80s. I grew up on mostly R&B/Soul, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Gospel with just a sprinkling of country... Charlie Pride. I recall playing George Jones albums for customers while working and fell in love with his singing. He had the perfect soulful country voice that stays with you forever, and to this day he remains my favorite male country singer. Merle Haggard's in a close second. RIP Mr Jones.

    I am amazed Jones held it together as well as he did. I suspect many country singers have had hellish lives. Your work is great in dealing respectfully and honestly with all aspects of their lives. Thank you as always!

      I have to respect it. I have lived it. I lost it just like he did. To use a line from "Tennessee Whiskey" "I always found the bottom of the bottle was always dry" Took me five years of drinking a fifth everyday to learn it.

      @@CMSProductions I too had struggles, Valium was my worst. My way to survive turned out to be Zen meditation 🧘‍♂️ and living in a Zen temple in Honolulu where I am now. Guess what? The Japanese priests love country music...Buck Owens and Hank Williams are held in high esteem 🙃 🙂 I'm not joking. We all share the human condition and are very alike despite superficial differences...thanks again!

    What a voice! Frank Sinatra famously called Jones "the second best singer in America." I was fortunate enough to see him twice, once with Tammy while they were married. My husband, a die-hard rocker skeptical of country, was blown away the first time he heard Jones and became an enduring fan. We saw him in Austin in the early 90s.

    Mr.Jones was the original rock star. Doing what he wanted to do and living the way he wanted too long before any of the rock Stars of his day. Most of the country singers did drugs and raised hell as much if not more than any rock Stars of their day , the just kept it quiet. I would like to think Mr Jones for all his talent and entertainment.

    He made it! All that haunted him thru life he began faced and wrote in his songs. I think this was the only way he could tell all his family and friends how he felt, for them to understand why he was, the way he was. He wrote it in songs how and why he was the way he was, and finally realized what hurt he had caused both himself and ones that loved him. It’s hard to understand why you are the way you are, until you start accepting yourself and what you have done, from there you work from then to now and admit the why of your choices, explain them accept them, and apologize for them. This way he was at peace with himself and his god before he died.
    What he hadn’t understood prior to this, was what a wonderful person he truly was. It took a lot of years in his last marriage for his stay strong wife to finally make him see, just how truly valuable he was to his family and his fans. She succeeded in this and so did Jones. Great man all around, no one will compare.

    • @CMSProductions
      @CMSProductions  Рік тому

      I agree with you whole heartedly. All you have to so is listen to him sing "Choices" In the end we are all here for a purpose. We are given gifts by our maker to help others through their journey in life. If we choose. It is our choices that lead us to where we are. As the lyrics say in the song "Even if we choice not to choice then we have still made a choice."
