I feel like what happened to Rory was realistic; all her life, EVERYONE talked about how special she was; they told her she was going to do big things, and her first relationship was with someone who worshipped her, so later, when she dumps dean and is told that she doesn’t have what it takes to be a journalist, it crushes her because she’s isn’t prepared for the realities of life.
i knowwww, she got so praised and pressured by her family and friends, that she never even worried or thought about what would happen if she would fail, cause that was like never an option...
This happened to me, I didn't fail anything until I went to college and I drank a whole summer away. I was devastated and had no idea how to handle it. I think they wrote it perfectly. You feel really directionless and lost when something you've been working for forever and had been succeeding at suddenly doesn't seem to be working for you.
Rory's character changed overnight when she went to Yale. It was almost like a different writer writing her and a different actress playing her. It was so weird and her character never recovered.
yeah but that's what collage is for. it matures you and changes you. in a show this realistic I wouldn't expect a collage girl where she's by herself for the first time act the same way as she did in high school.

because he is a manipulator, selfcentered and really really arrogant; almost, if not more than emily, who is acting on her emotions most of the time. richard is so rational it gets frightening. he really doesn't care if he's gonna hurt you yes he had a good side, but only to rory, since she fit in his picture and thats not a good thing

But as characters they are great. They are complex, multidimensional, have understandable motivation and enough soft spots to make us feel for them sometimes. They give us drama and comedy. C’mon, Friday night dinners are the best scenes in the show.

The way she answered sounded like she was talking about the actors and not the characters. She said on days they came on set they were fun, and we rarely even saw Caeser, but she would have seen him on on set more. It sounds like she answered the question differently.

I loved Keiko Agena the way she played Lane as well. She was perfect casting. I loved her chemistry with Emily Kuroda as well. They were COMPLETELY believable as controlling Asian mother and rebellious Asian daughter.
mine top 5 are...... 1. kirk- had so much character and brought quirkyness to the show. 2. lane- sooo underrated and literally is the sweetest bsf ever, rory is so lucky. 3. michelle- was always a part of the gilmore life and he is literally hillarious. 4. jess- ngl he was always rorys soulmate....she never realized it. he may have been bad but deep down he had a huge heart and was so loyal to his love for rory. 5. luke- he dealt with the gg for years, and we have to just give him props for that.
I never see people liking Emily much, of course because her character is mostly written as the „evil mother“ and not part of the Starts Hollow world, but honestly the actress was amazing, she had super funny lines as well as serious ones. I also loved her character development. In my opinion an underrated character haha

Luke will forever be my favorite, he was selfless, humbled, and knew when he messed up he would always try to fix things. He got walked all over all the time even when he was trying his best to help others. I was so thrilled when Lorelai and him got together but I just couldn’t help but think she waited a little too long to realize what was in front of her.. either way I was more happy for HIM to have gotten the woman he had admire for so many years. As for the revival show I’m confused why everyone kind of stayed stagnant..... I would have assumed him and Lorelai had kids by then since they spoke about it previously and why does Rory not have much of a work history? She was a devoted writer and hard worker all those years all for nothing?? That’s just so hard to believe.. I was hoping it would have been her redemption but nope... guess they just didn’t want to add too much to the show??? Odd.
Agreed. The reboot made no sense. It was almost comical in a creepy sense. Like a Christmas store that stays up all year round. Nothing changed in 10 years (or however long it was supposed to be) they literally just plopped Lorelei and Luke in the same place we left them, and idk what the hell happened to Rory. I know so many people disagree, but I just cannot stand Luke. I loved Chris, and I hate that they made him out to be the bad guy. I absolutely despise the scene when Rory goes to Chris' and tells him to stay away from Lorelai. It's so hypocritical of her and made me really dislike her even more than when the whole Dean thing happened. I absolutely loathe her and probably always will.

Roy T Back Gilmore girls was filmed when she was in her early 20’s and she had a baby voice throughout the whole series its kinda sounded like she was 12 but looked like she was 21 the whole show, however now that she’s 39 she lost the baby voice

My personal top characters: 1. Luke, bc his ranting was the funniest and he sometimes seemed like the only sane character. Also how he would do anything for Lorelai and was just an overall good person. 2. Sookie. She was hilarious and adorable and quirky. Perfect best friend for Lorelai. She was just a constant delight to the show, in my opinion. 3. Kirk, because... Kirk. his line delivery was golden in every instance and he was so weird he seemed almost normal 4. Bebet/Ms Patty duo. They were both kinda the older gossiping women of the town who constantly made dirty jokes and deserve so much more love from the fandom.

I'm at season 4. My favourite characters so far are Tristan, Dave, Jess and Paris when they where at school. At college Paris becomes complitelly unbearable.

Zomoothie (SPOILER ALERT) I hated that too, I also hated how she treated Paul, everyone talked about him like he wasn't a person too & she was just sleeping around all while still officially his gf and kept forgetting to break up with him like he was some minuscule task at the bottom of her to do list. I almost felt like she deserved to be treated like a hooker by Logan, for treated her bf so badly and sleeping with another woman's man. I hope they don't leave it like this and they do 4 more episode to redeem her. I couldn't care less that she was broke and was in a career rut, everyone struggles, but why'd they have to make her so selfish.
Exactly. She's acting like there was nothing wrong with Logan cheating on his fiance and lying to her. She didn't even think about Odette as a person, it's just like, "oh SHES there". Rory at this point was 32 you'd think she'd know better. Lorelei also acted like nothing was wrong with that and I don't get it. That's the thing that upset me through the series-Rory often times was looked at like this perfect person who's so incredibly smart and was praised by everyone(except Logan's dad).When she does something wrong, it's usually overlooked or easily forgiven. Season 1-3 really great inspirations to youth, she's smart, study a lot, reads, polite, nice, kind and even stand up when Paris bullied her and Rory still nice to Paris, but season 4 -7 just trash, I'm afraid teenagers who watched this show gonna think, why would I study as hard as Rory and got accepted to IVY's if its only gonna ended up, jobless, kept woman by trust fund jerk and got knocked up. Stars Hollow is the embodiment of what we wanted our lives to be like: cozy, stable, fun, filled with quirky and likeable characters. Rory is the audience surrogate and, to some extent, who we wanted to be, in that world and in our own. We wanted to, like her, always pull through in a crisis. Putting her into such a slump and not getting her out of it just takes away from the original charm of Gilmore Girls and more importantly, sends a depressing message not at all suited for the show: that life drags you down and sometimes things don't work out, no matter how hard you try. Trying to shove this heavy message into a show like Gilmore Girls is like trying to make a medium-rare sirloin steak work with a glitter fairy cupcake: it doesn't.

They did a lot of weird things with the characters towards the end, like Luke with the whole April thing. Honestly the revival pissed me off so much and put me through too many emotions. I hated Rory's character. I hate the person she became. Emily was the only good part of the revival, as well as Paris. I honestly wish they had included Paris more. Lane and Rory's chemistry is just non existent now. Lorelai was so rude to her mother in her time of grief. I mean seriously, who doesn't put aside their stupid pride in a time of grief and loss? Her finally telling Emily the story kinda made up for it, but it honestly shouldn't have worked out that way in the first place. She's almost 50. She should be more mature by now. And don't get me started on that goddamn musical.... complete waste of time when they could have used that valuable time on other characters. There could have been more time with Jess. I feel so betrayed by this revival. I hate how it ended. I hate it. Having said all that, I will be watching it five more times before I restart the whole series again for the 6th time ;/

To me, Alexis Bledel is one of the most classic, naturally beautiful actresses to grace US TV in the last decade(with Sophia Bush, Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly) . Because of these older shows now being streamed on Netflix or another platform, they’re getting even more exposed all over the world. At the same time I love the GG, and during the pandemic started to binge watch these shows over again.
I love the band, Hep Alien. They helped keep me interested in later seasons when some stories and plots were a bit grey and void. Lane and Paris portrayed by two super brilliant actresses too!!

Amy didn't write or direct the last season! Her and her husband (who produced a lot of episodes) didn't have anything to do with season 7 because of contract issues. So that's why season 7 was so disappointing and didn't really match up with the rest of the show, and why Amy was so willing to do a reboot

Rory changed so much, not in a good way. In the end of the story she looks like another person. The writers took off the essence of the character. I love the show, but I really don't liked what they did to Rory's character.
The amount of times Rory was having a midlife crisis and the only person that seems to get to her is Jess, just proves they’re meant to be together. For instance when Rory was living with her Grandparents and Jess confronted her, or when Rory was looking for a job in the revival and Jess told her to write a book. I reckon Jess is the father of Rory’s baby. He still loves her.

Luke will forever be my favorite, he was selfless, humbled, and knew when he messed up he would always try to fix things. He got walked all over all the time even when he was trying his best to help others. I was so thrilled when Lorelai and him got together but I just couldn’t help but think she waited a little too long to realize what was in front of her.. either way I was more happy for HIM to have gotten the woman he had admire for so many years. As for the revival show I’m confused why everyone kind of stayed stagnant..... I would have assumed him and Lorelai had kids by then since they spoke about it previously and why does Rory not have much of a work history? She was a devoted writer and hard worker all those years all for nothing?? That’s just so hard to believe.. I was hoping it would have been her redemption but nope... guess they just didn’t want to add too much to the show??? Odd.
Agreed. The reboot made no sense. It was almost comical in a creepy sense. Like a Christmas store that stays up all year round. Nothing changed in 10 years (or however long it was supposed to be) they literally just plopped Lorelei and Luke in the same place we left them, and idk what the hell happened to Rory. None of that made any sense to me. 💔
I know so many people disagree, but I just cannot stand Luke. I loved Chris, and I hate that they made him out to be the bad guy. I absolutely despise the scene when Rory goes to Chris' and tells him to stay away from Lorelai. It's so hypocritical of her and made me really dislike her even more than when the whole Dean thing happened. I absolutely loathe her and probably always will.

I hated that too, I also hated how she treated Paul, everyone talked about him like he wasn't a person too & she was just sleeping around all while still officially his gf and kept forgetting to break up with him like he was some minuscule task at the bottom of her to do list. I almost felt like she deserved to be treated like a hooker by Logan, for treated her bf so badly and sleeping with another woman's man. I hope they don't leave it like this and they do 4 more episode to redeem her. I couldn't care less that she was broke and was in a career rut, everyone struggles, but why'd they have to make her so selfish.
Exactly. She's acting like there was nothing wrong with Logan cheating on his fiance and lying to her. She didn't even think about Odette as a person, it's just like, "oh SHES there". Rory at this point was 32 you'd think she'd know better. Lorelei also acted like nothing was wrong with that and I don't get it. That's the thing that upset me through the series-Rory often times was looked at like this perfect person who's so incredibly smart and was praised by everyone(except Logan's dad).When she does something wrong, it's usually overlooked or easily forgiven. It's so annoying.

Stars Hollow is the embodiment of what we wanted our lives to be like: cozy, stable, fun, filled with quirky and likeable characters. Putting her into such a slump and not getting her out of it just takes away from the original charm of Gilmore Girls and more importantly, sends a depressing message not at all suited for the show: that life drags you down and sometimes things don't work out, no matter how hard you try. Trying to shove this heavy message into a show like Gilmore Girls is like trying to make a medium-rare sirloin steak work with a glitter fairy cupcake: it doesn't.

Honestly the revival pissed me off so much and put me through too many emotions. I hated Rory's character. I hate the person she became. Emily was the only good part of the revival, as well as Paris. I honestly wish they had included Paris more. Lane and Rory's chemistry is just non existent now. Lorelai was so rude to her mother in her time of grief. I mean seriously, who doesn't put aside their stupid pride in a time of grief and loss? Her finally telling Emily the story kinda made up for it, but it honestly shouldn't have worked out that way in the first place. She's almost 50. She should be more mature by now.
And don't get me started on that goddamn musical.... complete waste of time when they could have used that valuable time on other characters. There could have been more time with Jess.
I feel so betrayed by this revival. I hate how it ended. I hate it.

And i'm Team Jess by the way which is another reason why is hated this revival we saw more of Kirk's pig than Jess it was ridiculous i really hated it but it almost felt like they did it on purpose to leave an open door in case they have the opportunity to bring back the show one day.

Amy didn't write or direct the last season! Her and her husband (who produced a lot of episodes) didn't have anything to do with season 7 because of contract issues. So that's why season 7 was so disappointing and didn't really match up with the rest of the show, and why Amy was so willing to do a reboot
+juliet mueller i think they are speaking about season 8 and how she worte her then which i concur big mistake. i dont need a happy ending or a perfect rory but i need her to be rory everything about her was unfamiliar she came across pretensious and bratish and ut of touch and it would of been ok if she didnt have her life together but still had seemed to have become worldly like rory was always going to be. she didnt come across nice and rory has always been good hearted.
Kirenpreet Kaur she was a teen and should have learned from that. that is why I don't like her with Logan or Dean. they bring out bad sides of each other. I really didn't like the revival. Rory was so annoying. it was okay to make her a little annoying at times in the show because there was a lot of time to correct that. sleeping with married and engaged ex bf is like her annoying super power

Rory changed so much, not in a good way. In the end of the story she looks like another person. The writers took off the essence of the character. I love the show, but I really don't liked what they did to Rory's character.

The amount of times Rory was having a midlife crisis and the only person that seems to get to her is Jess, just proves they’re meant to be together. For instance when Rory was living with her Grandparents and Jess confronted her, or when Rory was looking for a job in the revival and Jess told her to write a book. I reckon Jess is the father of Rory’s baby. He still loves her.
