I want to introduce you to the cheapest most reliable folding knife it’s just the Milwaukee work knife it’s like 15 to 20 bucks n I had an older version for a couple years and I’ve used it to make spears throw into trees n never had one break on me they have a couple differences styles I love the hardline production of the Milwaukee knifes there nice but the folding work knives are a lot more reliable pls do a reviews
It looks like a complex system to replace a simple pivot pin.
It’s a Midgaards-Messer; what did you expect? 😂
I suppose it squeezes a bit more edge into open length... The logo is kinda where a conventional pivot would be... Confused a bit, but not disgusted.
The locking system is called "Lockin' " by Garbino and was especially invented to make a folder possible where the actual blade is bigger then the grip would usually allow it
If you pay attention to the pivot while he's opening it, you'd see that the blade is shifted upwards when you close it so the blade fits into the handle.
That's the point. Their whole thing is being different and over the top. It's just for fun, but they make good quality stuff. 🤷♂️
Have I ever seen a knife that can break in 7 different spots at once? Yeah, probably.
🤣🙊🤷🏻♂️
That's basically what I thought
So dumb. Just dumb designer as is all of his designs. Dumb.

Yes. I’ve seen lots of folding knives that can in fact fold. Well done!

Clown.
Have you ever seen a folding blade... That can fold, yes and with our all the mechanical bullshit
Finally a bowie knife with none of the pesky convenience, safety, and strength.
Haha

Thank you

As impractical as it is as a knife: it's definitely a unique piece of artistry
If you need a pocket sword, stick with a Cold Steel like their large Espada or Raja. I can personally speak to the strength of their traid locking system and it's opening is half as ridiculous as this monstrosity
Ya I have tons of reviews on the triad lock knives. Great for utility but also overkill for normal tasks.
The knife in this short is purely for fun. Most people get it but some people dont.
@@metal_complex why? 🤪
@@hulmad never have I needed a pocket sword personally (I use an axe for such tasks up here in the north due to the qualities of the wood) but I do own a coldsteel tufflite I got on a really good deal one time. The triad lock on that thing certainly inspires confidence. I've used it in similar applications to a mora when I don't necessarily want to have a knife hanging from a sheeth but need similar ability
Victorinox macht auch gute Messer.
The exact type of knife someone who listens to metalized Skyrim music would be proud of.
That is crazy, I would never have thought of a folding knife that can fold open and closed! Absolute utter convenience with the fact you have to grip with both hands and take 3x the amount of time a junk knife would accomplish that feat and I love the added pocket snags everywhere to ensure even just getting it out will take longer. Brilliant!
Не доставайте по случаю а по необхідності. А що до натяку про самооборони, то Ви помиляєтесь.
This is obviously a showpiece bro
Thank you I was abt to say something
yeah that's an amazing discovery
Its a specialty knife. Designed for the German market where its a legal req. to only be able to open with 2 Hands. The mechanics are also way more durable than you would expect. It basically reinforces itself when folded out.
Oh man. I always wanted a knife that takes 3 hands to open and 2 minutes to close all for the small price point of several hundred dollars! That mechanism will never fail in my super clean pockets that have never had lint or any kind of debris in them!!!
Lol and carry this as your edc? 😅
If you want something cheap and sturdy, just get a fixed knife or a cheap folder with a traditional pivot pin. If you really like knives, and would like to carry around a nice one made of fine steel that holds an edge, and is also interesting, you spend your extra cash on this. I bet your house is chock full of useless crap you didn't need, I know mine is. We all have that problem, it's the American way.
I hear that but if someone gifted you that same knife you'd be like ahh jeez man wow thanks, put it on a stand below your tv show all your friends and become a knife enthusiast over night. Bit of a hyperbole point being live and let live

Finally a folder with a blade length longer than the handle... This has stumped mankind for millennia now the problem has been solved
I've seen multiple examples of various ages with a blade longer than yhe handle on a pivot pin that have a clasp that locks around the section of blade protruding from the handle.
Where can I buy this knife
Most beautiful, albeit impractical and probably priced out of reach for the ever shrinking middle class. I would love one! Are you going to sell them? Or is this a one and done? Very beautiful and solid knife!
😁👍
The actual cutting edge doesn't look longer than the handle. I could be wrong though
That pivot is about as smooth as a gravel driveway, and that’s before all the lint in your pocket gets inside the mechanism 😳😳
They acounted for that. They made the knife so big that part of the knife will b sticking out of your pocket

Absolutely ridiculous and I need it.
Midgards Messer doesn’t even know what the word conventional is doing in the world of knives! They definitely deserve their place in the knife business.
I think the best part is that they could have made it normal thickness.

the blade is longer than the handle..
. on a folding knife.... oooooohhhh my gawwdddd thats neatttttt
Yeah, that's the main advantage, as well as its solidity, to this knife: the long blade
The actual sharp portion of the blade seems to be still shorter than the handle though
Right, thats new
I remember the very old, Marbles brand folding knife that came up with a design that had a longer blade to handle ratio. This answer to the problem is, I must say, more ingenious and beautiful.
Thanks for responding.
@Athsmos so thats what he meant by saying, have you ever seen a folding knife that can do this. He meant that the blade is longer btw this knifes handle will slide off of anyones hands cuz palms sweat and this handle is very flat and too smooth!
I love it. A little sticky action, but otherwise a true work of art. Love the thickness of the blade.. and the lock-up looks solid. Absolutely beautiful.
To this I absolutely agree. 👍🏻
Just needs some lube and breaking in.
It would probably work itself smooth with a few uses and some time. Most actions that have that level of complexity need to break in to get worked just a little smoother. Plus he was moving deliberately slow for the sake of showing off how it looked if I had to guess.
@@JosephFeblesCame here to say this.
I'll add a little more - the reason high-grade tooling comes stiff on the joints out of the box, is deliberately minimal machining tolerances to increase the life of the item.
You only really see that "stickiness" on very expensive tools, pre-break-in.
there is the version 2.0 coming out in the near future, smoother, longer handle side plates.
Awesome knife! I couldn't see a combat use for it but a great collector piece

Oh yes, those thin parts will break quickly!
This clearly isn't meant to be used but I wouldn't call those parts thin. Those arms and lever are the thickness of a lot of knives' blade stock. Lot's of moving parts and seems rather uncomfortable to hold though
@@ribstein7714 if you are not going to use it, then why have a knife bro?

It can't handle abuse like a fixed blade (because it is a folder). So my question is, what would this knife be used for, which my regular folders wouldn't?
When I buy Ferrari, I not only expect it to look nice, but to have the adequate performance as well.
@@aguilazombieXD I wouldn't buy this myself because all my knives are used as tools but I can see the appeal. It's like a form of mechanical art akin to a painting. you buy it to admire the design and the worksmanship in seeing such a crazy design into production. a clearer example is the isham eschaton. clearly only exists to make a design that isham found beatiful and the crazines of actually making it. any use is secondary at best: like a lot of art

Were the two tabs to unlock/fold one of them? I'm sure they're sturdy, but it makes it look like cheap flash. Well moreso, I've never held squared handles that were comfortable. But what's my opinion lol
@@ourkeving It's definitely a concept piece so that overcomplication is just considered art? I have no idea on the tab function
Yea, you said it best. I was lookin for it but I just couldn’t quite get “there” lol thank you 🙏

Nay mortal, all father Odin bid him to do so, for Asgard! 😁
It's the desert eagle of knives
a good example of mall ninja weapons, the system is extremely impractical but looks cool which is pretty much the mall ninja stamp
The point is to get a longer blade on a shorter handle. Also, it looks pretty. You can never discount bling factor.
Besides, it's a $300 knife, the steel is good enough that you _can_ make a mechanism like that without sacrificing strength compared to a traditional folder.
Careful, the poster of this short doesn't take kindly to criticism 😂.
Mall ninja weapons are junk, non-functional imitation weapons. THAT'S their stamp. This is just a good quality collector's piece. It doesn't have to be practical. Nobody is expected to carry it around.
This is the opposite of mall ninja shit which is mass produced garbage. This is an engineering feat, a display of expertise and skill for no purpose and no useful reason, just like watchmaking.
Do balisong's count as one too?
