I started in my late teens as a bottom of the food chain working player in Hollywood in '67. Monday night at the Troubadour, a folk-rock club in those days, was an open mic where people networked and got gigs....... so many stories. One night the Carpenters showed up, and everyone was amazed the drummer was a woman.....

Before anyone had heard of him, Arlo showed up one night, and the room was abuzz that _"Woody's kid is here, he's gonna play, and he looks like a stoner"._ Among other tunes he did, I heard _Alice's Restaurant_ live that night for the first time, before the record was released. I Jammed briefly in the alley out back with Neil Young and Michael Nesmith at the same time once..... Genie the Tailor let a few of us into her shop next door after hours one Monday night ..... to do something illegal.....
