- Traditional high quality algae production demands a great deal of attention and labour. With our Algae Photobioreactor, we make algae culturing simple. Thanks to the most cutting edge technology, the PBR 1250L uses automated features to cut down the time your company spends on algae, allowing you to focus on other aspects of your business. Automated cleaning, sanitizing, nutrient and water addition are just a few jobs the PBR 1250L is capable of by itself.
Whether you are looking to culture isochyrsis, nannochloropsis, tetraselmis, diatoms, etc. this algae production equipment has you covered. Great for algae research, algae for aquafeeds, or biotech. Be sure to check out our other size algae reactors. If you're looking for a pilot scale or more of a bench scale bioreactor, you can explore our PBR 100L algae production equipment.

Very interesting product series! I would love to include these into a Earth Power Lodge.
OMG yes! This video brought me so much joy it took me about 4 full circles around my room to get a hold of myself. This is the most epic large scale bioreactor I have seen up to this moment, I am genuinely impressed and intrigued by the design, one thing I did not fully grasp is method used for mixing and possibly of implementing CO2 pump to this magnificent machine.
I have to jot down the list of questions down and write You guys an email for a possible invoice.
Thanks, we've put a lot of research and development into making bioreactors that are great for algae production, and it's just a bonus that they look like amazing space ships/time machines :) The algae is mixed by the air bubbling into the bottom of the culture. CO2 is added to the air flow as required to maintain the pH setpoint.
Definitely check out our website and send us a message with more questions. Happy to set up a call!
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc Awesome, I hoped You’d utilize airflow as a means of mixing, and am even more confident about giving it a go, definitely have to read PBR 100L and PBR 1250L specifications. Cannot argue with Your assessment of the looks, it’s an eye candy for sure.
About pH determination is it measured at few heights or at specific point/circle?
@@mxmajewski The pH is measured by a single sensor at the bottom of the tank. Looking forward to hearing from you!
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc You have highly responsive and impeccable customer service if bioreactors match that then I’m even more hyped to wonder on the possibilities granted by such an infatuating machine :-D
Why was I asking about pH measurements, I have been thinking (and I am no Richard Feynman, that’s for sure) about the possibility of gradient creation due to the nature of applying gas mixture at the bottom of the tank, as I believe (and might be wrong) initially more CO2 would be able to dissolve as the fluid pressure vs freshly appearing “air” bubble ratio would be higher than at 50 or 100cm from the place of release, unless the mixing motion is efficient enough to forbid that from happening, and basically I have had hoped You’d have a few at different height so I could have checked it while working but it’s an unrelated topic I just happen to think about quite a lot, sorry to bother.
Once again many thanks and hopefully You too have a great day
We actually do see localized pH differences during inoculation! When you add your inoculum to the reactor it often has higher pH than the PBR setpoint, so you see a spike in the pH as the inoculum passes by the sensor. But this goes away shortly after as the algae gets diluted.
By far the best product in the industry!
Thank you Pablo! We appreciate it
Very nice video. Information is very clear.
Thank you Andy!
awesome technology at work
interested to see these models in a smaller scale in space ships in the future. I believe we will be able to supply all needs from algae for space trips.
Definitely, there are so many important applications for microalgae.
Useful information paired with stunning visuals, great video.
Thank you Jake!
So informative 👏, how can i get more concrete information to learn about this?
Our website is a great place to start! industrialplankton.com/
Interesting! Is this equipment ready to marketing to non-expertise buyers?
The PBRs are designed to be very user-friendly. Basic biology/biosecure practices are helpful. We do offer optional training as well if you are interested!
such a well made video for a very good prduct and company 👍
Thanks Aidan!
That looks really cool,I want to become either a biologist or microbiologist that can work with algae, what path would I have to take? I also wish to get into investments that have to do with algae, maybe owning some algae farms in the future.
Love the enthusiam! I'd recommend checking out the Algae Biomass Summits Young Innovators Lounge: algaebiomass.org/algae-biomass-summit/young-innovators-lounge/
Hi
Awesome your project
How many CO2 need injection in 1m3 and temp 31°C - ph 10.
Pls
Hi, send us an email info@industrialplankton.com and we'd be happy to discuss your project with you!
The CO2 injection rate will depend on the growth rate of your algae.
What you guys do with the phyto?
Hi Angel, we manufacture the bioreactors. It's up to the end user what they would like to do with their on-site algae production.
Do you mind sharing what densities you are able to achieve in your systems in cells/mL? Maybe species like Chaetoceros gracilis or muelleri, and Isochrysis galbana?
Absolutely! Chaetoceros gracilis, CM, and Isochrysis are some of the most popular algaes grown in our PBRs. You can find some densities listed under "continuous production" on our website: industrialplankton.com/photobioreactor/algae-photobioreactor-1250l/
Hello! How many kg production in a day and how many kwatt electricity? How much price and wich country in made?
Hello, good questions! You can find production metrics and electrical requirements here on our website: industrialplankton.com/photobioreactor/algae-photobioreactor-1250l/
The PBRs are made in Canada. Feel free to contact info@industrialplankton.com for more details!
Do you have amy information on in home reactors for personal use? Thanks
Hi Jessica, you technically could use these in your home, they would just produce more than you probably need for personal use :D I'd recommend checking out University of Texas algae culture collection. They have some small photobioreactors that might be what you're looking for.
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc Wow that is awesome,I would like to own my own photobioreactors lol as a hobby and some form of job.
Do the algae all float to the top of the reactor?
Air and CO2 are passed through a micron filter then sparged into the bottom of the tank, creating an airlift that circulates water throughout the tank. The aeration moves algae between brightly lit and cell shaded areas to ensure cells have regular access to light.
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc I see - if the algae are used for biofuels would the lipids make them buoyant and aggregate at the top of the tank? (Then sparging would just push them around the top region but not mix them into the bulk reactor liquid?)
@@play150 what is the % of lipids in the algae you are working with? Are you causing the lipids to be higher only before harvest? From our successful customers who are working on similar projects, we have not heard of this being an issue.
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc I'm just curious!! :) I've just always wondered if algae are grown in bioreactor for biofuels, wouldn't the oil in them make them float? (Hence the outdoor pond scum type of bioreactor 😂)
What is the power supply need 3 phase or single phase?
Hello, you will need single phase power. More information on installation requirements can be found here: industrialplankton.com/phytoplankton-culture-resources/
Hello, how many litres of Algae can you harvest a day with this system?
Hi Shannon, you can harvest in batch or continuous. Most people operating the PBR in continuous mode would harvest 200-500 L/day.
AMAZING
Hi how we can get it in India?
Yes, our technology is used in India. Please email info@industrialplankton.com and we can connect.
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc Can we produce bulk algae from it equivalent to open pond.
💚💚💚
Some of our favourite photos are from your beautiful facility!
What is the cost of such PBR.
Hi nikhil, what's a good email to contact you?
How much do these products generally cost? Just ballpark numbers :)
Hi, we have a few different models with different options depending on your needs! Send sales@ industialplankton.com a message and I'll send you the details! :)
@@IndustrialPlanktonInc Honestly I'm not a real buyer so don't want to waste anyone's time. Just wondering if they are in the thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands :)
This bioreactor = how many trees?
Hi, do you mean in terms of Co2?
how much?
Hi Samuel, please email info@industrialplankton.com
HI JEN! WTF IS THAT BEHIND YA
haha, it's an algae bioreactor! :D
Could this be beneficial to a marijuana grow operation asking for a Friend?
😂
Cannabinoids be grown in algae. Send us an email and we can discuss in more detail!
