Something like a desk vice would help a lot when holding the elastic taut. A tiny cheap one will work fine if this is all you'd be using it for-better than holding things in your teeth, at any rate.

We had a worktable with a hole drilled in and a makeshift wire loop hook secured to it. Helped a lot!

I told Scott W about this method I came up with mouths ago, a lot easier in the long run and especially if the thigh is cracked you wont damage it by trying to knock the pin out.

Greg, when you pull the elastic attached to the legs up through the torso do you pull it through the middle of the arm elastic, do you go behind the arm elastic, or do you go in front of the arm elastic? Thx

I resting mine with Bunge Chord and crimp the wire, bent into crimpable fasteners.
Question I've always had- What tool do you use to crimp the leg pins? Is that a special tool, or is that some size of a punch?
