I know you mentioned that computer science is your 2nd degree, so I was wondering how difficult was it for you to transition from a social science degree to something like comp sci which requires so much more math?
Hi! Thank you for watching! The switch was actually tough for me 😅 I wasn't expecting how much more work it is (lots of constant practice problems, reviewing concepts/theory etc vs. reading and writing in social sciences)I'm actually retaking a class since it didn't go well last semester, but I think with anything new there always comes a learning curve so for some people it might be an easy switch and for others (like me) it might require some more getting used to 😅 I don't think I took it seriously at first haha. Hope that answered your question :)
I initially wanted to pursue Pharmacy so naturally I focused on studying stuff related to it and had come this far. Unfortunately, I might have to switch my path. Thus, I'm considering taking Computer Science. In terms of programming, I know HTML and CSS. I'm currently learning JavaScript on my own. As Computer Science is your second degree, I'm wondering if you had any prior knowledge of the field before you started it? I feel like I know nothing much about Computer Science. Is it possible to enter the degree without some basic skills or knowledge of it?
Hiii - most CompSci degrees assume 0 knowledge. For most universities, good math would be required. But rarely Computer Science - they teach languages from 0 upwards. Most the degree content is programming, theory and maths. So as long as you have the maths - you're good! I had no programming skills and no knowledge of computers and I'm doing just fine.
