The lad in the background about 3 minutes with the hiking/walking sticks on a flat beach 😂
Thanks to Billy I started using the dingle dangle this month. Most of the time dogs, rays and smoothie the bait is outside their mouth when I get them to the kayak so the bait goes straight down again.
Hi Tim. The guy in the background, is a stunt walker. It is a new extreme sport🤣 glad the dangle is working for you. Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch 😂
very intetesting . I will still choose to ignore this video when im feeling lazy and still wonder why im not catching 😂 thanks billy , great video... cant wait for the next one 😅😊😊
Hi Eimear. Happy to be of no help Sister 🤣 Thanks, glad you liked it, see you on the beach 👍😁👌
Hi billy , cheers for the vid. Well done on your flatties. All the best from Grimsby.
Hi Carl. Glad you liked it bud, all the best from Denmark. Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
As a fairly new subscriber to your channel, my only disappointment is I never found it sooner! I'm addicted to your videos, your genuine love and passion for fishing is addictive to watch. Absolutely brilliant videos and such a funny, genuine guy. Please keep up the good work Billy and keep sharing your adventures with us ❤
Hi Steve, Thanks for subbing up. Much appreciated, love your enthusiasm. See you on the beach Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Just watched your video on fishing in the wind. You mention your Ian Golds Tripod, I've been hoping you could tell us about the metal tray you have attached to it. Did you make that yourself?? Maybe that could be a video on how you made it 😁
As it goes, I did make it myself. But I think most people would have a hard time making one, but if I can simplify the process I will make that video 👍
Excellent video Billy. I have been using circle hooks for years for round fish struggling with them for flatfish until i stole your hair rig idea and its the only way i fish now. Tight lines mate!
Hi buddy, it's the only way to fish. It just works so well. Eels are the only fish I have trouble with. Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
New sub, new fan. cant stop using all your rigs for the ray fishing here in connemara and its been alot more productive ,cheers man
Hi bud. Thanks for the sub, much appreciated. Good to hear the rigs are getting it done, see you on the beach 😁👌
Great video billy, as always brother 👍
Thanks Warren, Glad you liked it. See you on the beach Brother 😁👌
Nice one Billy 👍
Thanks Daz, fish on 👍😁
My fav fishing channel! Thanks Billy!
Thanks wizard, glad you liked it brother. See you on the beach 👍😁👌
Flat country, flat fish. Good stuff Billy.
If your theory is right, what is your excuse 🤣 Thanks Peter 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Climate change, probably...
Thanks Billy. Great entertainment and a worthwhile experiment as well.
Hi Garrie. Glad you liked it, nothing like messing around and having a bit of fun when you're fishing. Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 👍😁
Another great video thanks Billy! Some useful tips there, especially about using the tail of the Dingle Dangle as a disgorger. Thanks Buddy - stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Glad you liked it Trampbuddy, thanks see you on the beach 👍😁👌
When I get home I chuck unused bait (everything other than crabs) in a tupperware pot and chop it all up into chunks with scissors, and put it in the freezer. When there's a decent amount and a good mixture of bait, i make bait sausages using Fox Arma-mesh. Works a treat👌
Thanks for the tip Brother, see you on the beach 👍😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watchgive it a go, works a treat👌 fish on dude👍👍
Another great video thank you 👍
Hi Stu. Glad you liked it, thanks Brother 👍😁👌
What does it say? Put some new worms on Billy & don’t be so bloody tight 😂😂😂. See you on the beach.
The only thing that's tight about me, is my line🤣 Thanks Brother, fish on🤣👌
Fresh bait every 15-30 minutes for me, I never recast a bait for the exact reason you showed ,, although I still don’t catch much 😂,, great video mate 👍👍🤠
Hi bud, it seemed like the perfect time to illustrate the practice of recast baits. We all see people doing it, but don't like to sound better knowing 😂 well you know. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch i know a guy that can make one worm last a session if there’s no crab or bites happening, but wonders why he never catches anything other than whiting in the winter 😂😂😂, ( not my place to tell them different 😂😂😂) 👍👍🤠
All the more fish for you 🤣👌
@@Billyfishing_watch 😂😂
Caught flounders on rasher rinds as a youngster. Unsmoked. Silver eels in Courtown Harbour took them too. Keep up the videos and go to Norway again please.👍
Hi Paul. I have heard of people catching placie on rinds too. glad you liked it, Norway is a second home to me. So hang in there, thanks Brother 👍😁
Nice one Billy , shame not to see a turbo this time , but that gotta be an excuse to get straight back out there mate 😂. appreciate your efforts bud 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mr nuts. It's just so sad, the fishing here was fantastic some years back. There was lots of them. But never give up, that's what I say. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Great video brother 👍
Im going to try these dingle dangles for my Gilthead bream fish it could be a game changer as they can be a nightmare to hook
Yes bud, they will work perfectly. Because, as you know striking on bream, is a waste of time. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Great video billy buddy
Thanks Brother, glad you liked it. See you on the beach 👍😁
Na in the winter when the are large numbers of flounder in the river by me they will smash old bait same as fresh cos there competing for food i do tend to just tip the old with a bit of fresh after 1 or 2 casts when there feeding well
Of course! There's no point in wasting bait, if you don't have to. Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 👍😁👌
Brother Billy thanks for another great video plenty of good tips. Are you off t Norway again?. Thanks brother
Hi Stephen. Glad you liked it. Not sure about Norway yet, hang in there. Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
The only time I recast used bait is when you are plagued by whiting, taking anything you throw at them. Sometimes you have to just give into defeat and save your bait😊
Pin whiting, little piranhas! I don't get them in Denmark, fortunately. What a pain! Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
Awesome flattie-fest Billy, cant beat flattie bashing - if only there were some turbut there eh?
Currently in Cornwall which has some nice fishing, on the lures. 🇩🇰🏴🎣🐟🐟🐟
Thanks Viking, glad you liked it brother. What are you catching?
@@Billyfishing_watch Got a couple of mackerel (which went in the smoker), bass and a fat green ballan wrasse so far. Been a bit windy but this week will be good. No old worms needed for lure fishing.
Great video, Keep uploading🤩
Hi Osker, thanks Brother. How is the fishing up with you?
@@Billyfishing_watch two last days the weather have been beautiful. Sadly i have had other things to do. Happily i am off work for 3 weeks now so i can go fishing alot. I heard someone got 4 halibuts yesterday 21kg,9kg,61kg. I might buy a underwater camera to make my vidoes more interresting but they re so expensive.
Good luck, buddy. Hope you get the camera, looking forward to more videos 👌
Nice . Been catching plenty big turbot on pop ups lately
Congrats, Sean. Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
@Billyfishing_watch thanks you too.
Used bait thats where im going wrong 😝love ya bro 😘
Glad to help out Matt🤣 And I thought Tony liked you 😂 thanks Brother 😁👌
You're right about them being greedy, I was Cod fishing at Arbroath and had a flattie swallow a 6/0 hook. He was trying to chew down a mackerel fillet.
Yes, they are greedy Nigel. I had the same experience a few times. Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch Always meant to ask, does the hair method on the circle hooks work better with frozen worms? The blow lug I get in the summer can be upwards of 8 inches long, and that's a big hair I'd need :)
As it goes Nigel, the worms I get are just as big, and it is part of the reason why I freeze them. No bull, but after freezing, they fish better than fresh. I will link the processing video, if you use them fresh, gut them first and cut them in half, they are just too big for flatfish. 👍

Hi Billy think your videos are great fun and I'm learning new ideas from them as I have fished for many years myself but not an expert lol does the dingle dangle work with Jay hooks thanks
Hi Andy. Yes you can fish j hooks with a dangle , just like a circle hook. Or with panel hooks, it's great for clipping down oversized baits. Thanks Brother 😁👍
@@Billyfishing_watch thank you for your reply I will be giving it ago and start using the circle hooks and as always fish on take care
@@andycarey5647 tight lines 👍
Lovely video with lots of great advice as always Billy! Nothing to do with this video but considering you lived in Ireland for a while, have you any idea if theres any decent places to fish freshwater around Dungarvan Co. Waterford this time of year?
Hi Bud. Sorry, but I only fish the salt. Glad you liked it, thanks Brother 👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch Ah no worries, just figured I'd ask. Thanks for the reply though Billy, I appreciate it :)
No worries brother 😁👌
Seeing all the flounder fishing action here makes me wonder if these methods would be effective over here in Atlantic Canada. In Nova Scotia, I found that the flounder situation is not as good as in previous years, as in there just doesn't seem to be as many fish about. I remember fishing as a kid around Halifax and flounder would be a pretty common sight (mostly as by catch), and most were decent sizes too. however in recent years flounder fishing with "conventional" methods (little hook with a bit of weight and tipped with a mussel) just hasn't been working for me. the general rule to finding fish for the longest time was "if you find the clam beds, you'll find the flounder" but spots that previously produced fish are mostly empty now. That being said, to the north in Newfoundland, this year there has been a lot of them around, and many are what by European standards you may call monster's. you know you are on some serious flounder when you are out jigging for cod, and the flounder considers an 80 gram jig potential food. Maybe the next time I go for a visit ill take my beach rod and see if i can catch a new PB. Anyways thank you for the good work, cheers.
Hi bud. I am not sure they are the same fish. In the US they have flounder, but they are a cousin of the halibut. If it is the same fish as the US, you can use soft plastics, metal lures or fish bait. I think the fish we have are called sole, over your side. But if they are the same fish, I'm sure you will have no trouble with this method. It is great to hear about your fishing experiences over the other side of the Atlantic. Thanks brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
I'm not sure, we just always called them flounder. I think the other term for the species I'm talking about is "Winter Flounder" but there are other species too, either way, a fish is a fish when its on the end of your line. Thank you for the reply and the extra knowledge.
Anytime bud. I hope to be in Norway so, I think fishing is more like your part of the world 👌
I've always found more visual baits better for recasting. I've had the same strip of whiting catch 3 fish in a row......wasn't much of it left after that
Hi bud, never thought of that. Might give it a go, some day. Thanks Brother 👍😁
@Billyfishing_watch thought I was worth mentioning different baits fish well for different reasons. Worm baits definitely need that scent though, as this video highlights brilliantly. Always enjoy your videos, tight lines for the next one!
Thanks, you to bud👌
Hi Billy ..
As an avid watcher of your videos, which I find very informative from baits to rigs .I have taken your advice and put it into my experience of fishing .Can you tell me the hooks you used for flat fish rigs on your dingle dangle .I'm going to make some rigs for my 11 year old grandson .I think they were blue Aberdeens but. I don't know the exact numbers and size any information will be much appreciated .
Thanks Billy
Kind regards Simon
Hi Simon. Glad you like the videos, the hook I use most is the kamasan B940 size 1. But you can use any hook that will fit into the bait needle . Thanks Brother 😁👌
@Billyfishing_watch Hi Billy
Thanks for replying and that information Are they the ones you cut down and re-bent in one of your videos .I am learning my grandson who is 11 and hoping he will use this great method .You can't beat making your own rigs and trying to adapt your rigs to different fishing marks ..
Have a great day brother
Kind regards Simon
Yes, you can get them in most tackle shops and online. You will need some 100lb braid too, mono is no good 👍 follow the link

@Billyfishing_watch Hi Billy
I have some 100lb braid already and I have made some angel clips from my 1.5 304 sprung steel wire to put the rigs on .Taking my grandson on Friday night fresh lug and frozen blacks should hopefully do the trick ..Cant wait to see your next video ..See you on the beach brother 🎣👍
BOOOOOOOOMB!!!
Thanks Nomad, fish on Brother 😁👌
Do you those weights better for catching flat fish over grip leads
Hi buddy. They are fantastic for finding the hole. But if the tide is too strong, I will use grips leads, thanks Brother 👍😁
Boom🇮🇪
Bomm! Thanks Brother, fish on 👍😁
HeyBilly, great stuff thank you. One question, how does the fish know top or bottom of the bait?
Hi bud. Firstly, fish feed by the use of vacuum, and when the bait is sucked into the mouth it will take the course of least resistance. Ie bait first, not hook and line. Secondly, they tend to feed nose into current. So the bait will be presented bait first and not hook first.
Got it thanks. Yeah nose into current. Our bluefish ray tail first. See ya on the beach.
@georgecampion5543 thanks bud👌
how is it you always manage to find a space on the beach?
Hi John. Simple, I am the only one for 100 miles surfcasting 🤣 Thanks Brother 😁👌
Any idea of a cheap budget beachcasting set up . Could do with anything .
Hi bud. If it's 50-60£ you are taking, well there all pretty much the same. And if it's just flatfish bass whiting that sort of thing, it doesn't really matter. The venue is more important, thanks Brother 👍😁
Excellent, cheers for reply . Just going to start off with lower budget rod first and see how it goes . Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣🎣 and keep up the excellent content.
@rwbranger62 That's the way to go, learn the skills, before you spend the money. Tight lines 😁👌
