So amazing how far humans have come. We used to build houses out of sticks and leafs. Now we build structures that amazingly hold that much weight. You would think I’d crumble down
Don’t think about it, the more you think, the more nervous you get, and when your nervous mistakes are made, and I’m late, hope everything went alright
Would have been faster/ safer to send the piece back down to the lazy hookers-on. The message would be sent to send the pieces up correctly. Also, by fighting the piece in, those bolt threads probably got gacked up making the bolter-ups job far more difficult/ slow. Can't send a piece up flat, fire them. A retired Ironworker connector/ welder myself...
Lennart Swenson The columns were not straight up 90° but the seat they sat on was. So that being said the tube that came up couldn't be and had to have a roll or the bolts welded on wouldn't line up. two bolt connection each side. welders followed, not bolt up.
We use shackles when necessary. Only rats use em on every pick, waste of time taking off and putting on. Reason why Union IronWorkers get the big job. Efficiency
Great job! One hand for you and one hand for the company. RD JIW (retired #25) Detroit
