A little about me. I have been the manager at Infiniti of Kirkland since 2004 and prior to that I ran a high end car boutique in neighboring Bellevue, Washington. For my career I have sold over 10,000 cars so I hope to bring you far more insight than you might ever know to even ask. I show you in some videos how to see if a car has been in an accident, how to make a great buy on a car with a bad Carfax, or why I wouldn't personally buy a car even if it has favorable reviews. When this car was introduced in 2010, the 20 seconds it takes to open and close the top was the quickest on the market so I’m not sure why he’s saying it seems slow. Maybe newer retractable hardtops are faster.
It was a class leader the entire time it was on the market. It might be slow compared to a rag top, but thats because you're doing the work, and its not a hardtop.
@@mattskucas4097 exactly. I have a S2000 which is one of the fastest ragtops both going up and down, but cars like this leave a nice finished decklid and I have to clip in a cover if I want to look that clean.
He was also wrong about it being spring, all over the world - since it is NEVER the same season in both Northern and Southern hemispheres - and 20 seconds to fully open and close the top is NOT slow !
Again great honest review, I’d actually buy from Joe as it’s rare to get real true facts from salesmen..~

I own one, very nice car
I have the 2003 Lexus IS300 with 210,000 miles and it still drives like it is brand new.
That body style is one of the most well-built cars of all time and an almost certain collector car in the future...you have great taste!
I have a 2006 standard lexus is250 with 215000 still runs like a sewing machine!
Just got 2009 is250 .nice .its quick car to get around..easy .user friendly.

Is it fast enough to have fun with? Im deciding between either a 250 or a 350 im finding more 250s for like 7-9 grand and thats a hell of a good price for a reliable luxury sports sedan
Go for the 250 (after you've had a buyer's inspection at the Lexus dealer) they are smooth and reliable, economical and affordable, look cool and drive great...and yes, they're a lot of fun...and nothing is more fun than saving a bunch of money on a nice car that doesn't break down.
Where exactly are you buying this from ? I cant find anything less than 15k
@@axygh I just bought my second IS350. My first one was a sedan, my second is a convertible. The 250 is SLOW and gets the same gas mileage as the 350. Also, they have carbon buildup issues over time. Lastly, my 350C was 15,500 with 40,000 miles. In California. The 250 is a waste of money. Its slower than most 4 cylinders.
Damn right now it’s not even under $14k the ones at $14k have close to 200k 😭

@@Unplugged704 I'd avoid the 250. Saw somewhere that the direct injection engine has trouble with carbon build up.

I just found a 2010 Lexus IS 250 Sport Convertible 2D in my area with 150k miles for 8 grand cash. All black.
I found a is350 for 16k 37,000 miles. Thinking about getting it

I don't know why I was so inconsistent popping the hood on my older videos...I was probably just a bit snowblind being on camera. Nowadays I couldn't imagine not showing the engine since the good people of the world would MUCH rather see the engine than me. I appreciate you taking a look starkness!
