Fans love recreating the costumes and scenes, but one person ended up in the hospital after following a dangerous TikTok tutorial video. Doctors have issued warnings. Parents and schools have gotten involved. South Korea is protesting. And Netflix is getting sued.

The fact a 14 year old doesn't know which cups are microwaveable and which ones aren't means what happened to him had absolutely nothing to do with the show. And they showed it in the show as being stirred over the stove, why use a microwave in the first place?

Tbh, in this case it doesn't really matter if he watched the show or not. What caused the incident was him making the dalgona candy improperly, due to receiving bad instructions from social media. Even if he hadn't watched the show, he'd still see the game all over SNS and hear from it from his friends. And it's impossible for parents to hover over their kids 24/7 - honestly you wouldn't like it if it was. I have to deal with my mom following me to university and sneaking trackers into my stuff because she has anxiety that she refuses to get treated for, and it has NOT done any good at all to my health and well-being

Aiden’s burns cannot be blamed on the show. The show doesn’t show how to make the candy it just uses it, they found the recipe on tiktok. Also it states that he didn’t have a parent there with him. They shouldn’t be suing squid games because they weren’t the ones who promoted baking it.

I made dalgona! The first try, i almost burnt my kitchen down. But my great grandma watched me the second time. Its so good! Just dont put too much baking soda. It will become something sort of like elephant toothpaste.
    Recipe :
Spread melted butter, or oil on 2 pans. (Bottom of the pans) or have parchment paper ready on the counter. Make sure you have a family member watching.
Take 1/4 cup of white sugar. Melt on a med / low heat, or just low heat. (Make sure while melting, it turns a light brown color. Any darker that it will be burnt, or terrible bitter.)
Add 1/2 tsp of baking soda to the mixture. Stir till light and fluffy. Add the dalgona mixture to the parchment paper, or pans. Press and quickly use a cookie cutter and press before quickly hardened.
It took me a few tries to get it perfect, but i make these on Christmas, as santa’s cookies. And make really good treats on cakes. Cupcakes. And etc.

Everyone should know that anything containing melted sugar is DANGEROUS. You can't let a kid create anything like that, such as caramel, etc, if they don't know just how hot that stuff can get. I don't understand why elementary schools all across the world seem to be blaming the children for consuming internet content. It is the parents responsibility to monitor their children, and if they still see content that is to mature, they have to make sure that the children understand that they can't watch it, or shouldn't play the game. Even so, most of the recreations aren't involving the death part of the show, simply the games; and the injury from recreating the candy was caused by his parents not being attentive enough, and the TikTok recipe telling a huge range of people that you should microwave plastic.

actually, the easy way to make dalgona is to take a small frying pan, (preferably stainless steel), and put sugar into the pan (any amount) put it on medium or low heat, and wait a couple minutes, until the sugar starts to melt
then stir slightly, and slowly add tiny pinches of baking soda
when the mixture is completely melted, stir like crazy until it starts to puff up a little bit
then stir like crazy for around 5 seconds and put in it a bowl or plate, and stir until its completely solid
