This is exactly why I have 3 old Scaley XR3i's sprayed pure white for people to get the hang of things before they get there hands on my repainted, upgraded cars that I've spent hours of work on. Great idea and video.
Thank you 😊 yes its a big stress watching someone ploughing around the track with your favourite cars 😬 good idea to paint up a few beginners cars ...thanks for watching and commenting 👍...Harry
Afternoon Harry, now this definitely reminds me of my youth, a good old back to basics scalextric car, love em 😂, what a difference a few stickers make, live the video as usual, hope it's not too cold there, take care ...... Colin 😊
Minus 20 here lately and waiting for a frozen pipe somewhere inside the wall to burst to locate it so it's all fun and games 🫢😖 yes those scalextric cars are very cool basic beginners cars , thanks for watching Col 🤗
I bought a scalextric start rally car set on marketplace for $10 and let my granddaughter have the cars for her racing with me. Told her that she could paint and do whatever she wanted to the cars. With the magnets and the power turned down she can keep it in the slot most of the time. It’s fun for both of us.
I think they are perfect for this because young people will get fed up if they keep falling of the track ,so like you said power down and magnet in and just let them have fun.great idea about the freedom to paint 🤗thanks for watching and commenting 👍..Harry
Nice video Harry! I have a couple of the Subaru BRZ cars by Policar that came with my set, and they came with decals as well. They are very similar to that Scalextric car, cheap, build tougher and even have rubber mirrors. Any newcomers to my track have to use one of those first lol. Like you said, you don't need new drivers breaking the good stuff! I bought a bunch of UltraCal number decals that are nice quality vinyl peel and stick decals that look great and resist damage, unlike water slide decals, and they make any blank car look great. Cheers!
Hi Dave 👋 yes these learners cars are really a great idea .I didn't know Policar did something similar with their sets ,but I can understand If maybe thousands of kids around the country are going to get their first slot car set .you don't want them breaking cars after a couple of hours play .not good for the company image 😁 I'm going to have a look around for some stickers I might have in the garage and give this car a different look . Thanks for watching and commenting 🤗...Harry
Spray a light misting of water on the plastic body of the car before placing the sticker. This will allow you to slide the sticker into its final position on the car. Once the final position is reached, carefully swab the moisture away with a cotton bud and the sticker will remain in that position.
Yep I do this with graphics on my daily van ....but no need to do this on the model because the stickers peel really easily 🤗 of course I would do if I was putting decals on a white kit build after spraying 👍thanks for watching and commenting Mark ...Harry
When I race my daughter, I always try to hand her over a sturdy start type of car, but she always goes for my expensive scale, auto or NSR cars. She does pretty good so I let her use my faster cards and I just turned down the voltage and we OK.
Hi 👋 something I will get for my track in the future will be a variable power supply. It really is the best way to introduce beginners to the hobby. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Yes it's great to say away you go guys and let them enjoy themselves. With being stressed about your 90euro slot 🤭thanks for watching and commenting 👍...Harry
