Glad you found it helpful! If you haven’t already, please check out my other injector video. There are some other helpful diagnosis details in there as well!
No problem 😎 similar setup in the 6.0s just the FICM and other things. If a 6.0 runs rough when first starting then clears out after warming up a little it’s usually the solder joints inside the FICM. Are you having any issues at the moment?
@bryanbuilt360 Yes I am. It's smoking out the tailpipe. It also came out good on computer, I have injector clatter, but I think injectors dumping out too much diesel. Ficm gives me 49.5 volts. Checked with laser thermometer and 7,6,8, read 235°. I'm thinking of just replacing all injectors. I installed everything else new. Hpop, standpipes, quick disconnect lines, glow plugs, glow plug harnesses, main engine harness, oil cooler, egr cooler. The only thing that's it's doing is the smoking and it has a strong smell of diesel through tailpipe too.
@@nelmor29 I’d ask how many miles but maintenance history is important too. Mileage plays a big part in long term wear. But if the injector tips have caked up oil and or “stiction” that can get them stuck open. Some people run Archoil 9100 or Hotshot diesel secret in the oil and it can possibly clean it up. I am trying the Archoil for the first time, just added it this morning to see if I notice anything over the next few weeks. This issue that created this video had quite a few computer savvy techs a little confused when I was going through it. Hope this helps but definitely keep us posted here
Yes I was reading up on hot shot and archoil. Maybe ill try that before getting injectors. I'll will definitely keep you posted. Thanks for the responses brother.
Hi, same problema With my 7.3, oil wasnt flowing through spouts on three injectors when I start the engine, but when it's warms up the oil comes out, she runs like shit on idle en dies after deceleration. So thank you for your video, it helps me a lot. 🇲🇽🙌✌️
Thank you for watching! This video did not get as popular as my other injector video. But this was one of the most difficult diagnosis I’ve ever done and I’m not rich to where I can just throw new parts at it haha I would come up to stop signs and it would die, it was very strange. It would only start with the block heater in also. I’m glad you found it helpful and thank you for sharing your experience!
Love the video just stumbled upon it have a 7.3 myself installed new injectors has a knock how this truck had at the bigginning only stalls when in 20s and i start it sometimes unless i cycle the plugs, truck runs good when cold but gets a little knock when warm and clears up under throttle, replacimg the valve cover gasket harness and goona take a look at the spouts to be sure, solenoids do buzz but i feel the knock with a little bit of shaking ahouldnt be there
Glad you found this! I have another video, here’s the link ua-cam.com/video/xvu9pTvN1Sw/v-deo.htmlsi=YofLZHF8EkZmQC6g After I did these injectors, one failed 15,000 miles later. It was knocking pretty badly, you can see in the other video I use the heat gun again and find which cylinder it was. Is yours smoking with the knock? May be one bad injector.
@@bryanbuilt360 that's the weird thing not a lot of smoke almost clean, I feel at idle maybe it doesn't open all the way with a noticable knock and with throttle it opens up or something and cleans up, but I will check that video thankyou
After new glow plugs my cylinder #1 is saying it has an open circuit…I wonder if I bumped the injector solenoid clip off when reinstalling the valve cover. Now I have to check. I will check continuity first and buzz test.
Ahhh haaa. Definitely start with checking the number one before pulling the valve cover. If you see zero changes in multimeter than chances are it became disconnected. Way to isolate and Identifyn
Ive been watching other channels as well as yours, one had replaced all his injectors with the 160 single shot…..i think he said it was international injector for the 447? Motor…i forget….what do you think about that? I’m seriously considering this option. Also, do you plan on doing an air dog and fuel tank sump. Thanks
This was a much needed video! Thank you! I may have to look at doing this soon, and your detail, explanation, torque specs are awesome!

I love all your 7.3 videos, thanks a lot!
If you post at least 1 video a week your channel will grow big time! Great vids
Doin my best! I appreciate the feedback. I have another injector diagnosis video that’s more in depth than this if ya need it haha
Great video brother. I have a 2003 6.0 but this video was very helpful and very informative. Thanks again.

With all the work I've put into it, I'm never gonna get rid of it. And I do all the work myself, it's easy to work on it after a while.

Also, check out my other injector video with the smoke plume, it will show you that testing!
