I just received the thing, Ehh, I still prefer my sliding sleeve bit guides over this. All I do is insert my long screw into the bit guide, and pull forward on it to cover the screw, and that move there keeps my screw nice and steady, and its a time and true method that I have been doing for years and numerous amounts of projects completed . When I know I'm getting close to drilling the whole screw into the wood, all I do is pull back on the sleeve /guide to see how much I have left to screw in.
💥 This is a great review. Thanks. It looks great but I normally drive drywall screws into drywall and it’s important to see the head of the screw to determine how deep to set the screw. It’s a fine line between too shallow sticking out and too deep ripping the paper. This great device seems to block your line of site in that fashion. It’s actually important in setting any type of screw in any material to see how deep it’s head is. How does this work when doing these types of things.??
In your scenario, I would only use the outer magnetic sleeve to start the dry wall screw and then remove it to carefully tighten it down at the perfect point. I mostly use mine working on cars so I don't need to worry about overdriving the fastener as I can feel how tight I want it or set a torque limit. It's been a huge time saver for me on hard to reach fasteners where it's easy to drop or easy to lose the fastener before getting it started or removing it.
I believe they are phasing out the impact gold line with the new xps line, but don't know specifically about a xps bit holder. I can tell you the impact gold bit holder continues to serve me well.
@@PaulsToolReview thanks, that’s why I asked. Today at Home Depot, I saw a 3” impact XPS magnetic insert bit holder that was black, wasn’t sure if it was new; totally different function, no sleeve, which I really liked on this gold.
One thing that bugs me is that the ring attracts a lot of little metal shavings over time. I do also wish it was designed to work with 2 inch bits, but good to know it can technically work with them. Cheers.

Thank you. After watching your video, I was able to change bits. Uncle Author was visiting my hands, so I had to get pliers to pull apart
Greetings,
I noticed the sticky bits...but this is by far the best one I have tried.

This makes it so much easier to start a screw .

Thanks for the video 👍
Did they replace this with an XPS magnetic holder?
