Thank you so much! I love large leaf Hoyas too - I just don’t have room for them. I’m getting ready to retrellis some of mine and 🤞🙏🏻 I can make room for them in my available space. My nervosa is one of my favorites, but meredithii comes in at a close 2nd!
I purchased a Engleriana from Plant Haven Toranto. I do not know if it is the aff or not, but so far it seems like a challenging hoya. I have put it in a terrarium because even at 70F and 60 - 70% humidity it kept growing and dropping leaves after they would turn yellow within days of growing them. Now this has stopped. It does have very small leaves, but it is still quite small, only 2 stems about 6 inches. After seeing you video, I may reach out to the seller to determine what type it is if it has to spend its entire life in a terrarium. I guess you wouldn't consider continuing this series of hoyas that know one talks about. I also have the Hanhain, I think mine is a yellow flower of the ones you mentioned. Thanks.
Doug Chamberlain from Vermont Hoyas has a lot of information about this Hoya and its counterpart, which it sounds like you might have. From what I’ve gathered, the “regular engleriana” needs a loose airy mixture and higher humidity. The sp aff engleriana ‘Vietnam’ I have grows in around 40% humidity, so lower humidity doesn’t seem to be a problem. I hope yours gets situated and starts growing!
Hi My helle👋! You're so right, that was an interesting topic! I love the large quilted leaf of the nervosa and especially the meredithii. I purcased a two leaf meredithii cutting from an Etsy seller 3 wks ago & I'm nervously anticipating that it will acclimate and flourish because it's such a dry looking cutting. It's in coco husk, perlite and some other additives so I'm anxious to get into leca but not for another 2 weeks. The hoyas I don't see talked about that I have in my collection is the Khao Yai, Fusco Marginata, Joy, Mendorensis, Tjadesmelengensis, Rigida, Chicken Farm, all easy grow, large leaf, among many, but I'd like to see videos on the care. Thanks for sharing. 💚 Dee, NY
I don’t have good luck growing in coco husk, so I soak the roots in water for about an hour and remove all the husk from the roots and put it in something I’m more comfortable with. You list some great Hoyas! One of my wishlist Hoyas is a deykeae X chicken farm.
I understand! We have hard water here, so I get crusty hard water marks too. What I normally do is make a spray bottle with some warm water, 1 tbsp white vinegar, and about 30 drops of peppermint essential oil. Shake it well and spray it on the leaf, let it sit for a few seconds, and wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. More stubborn stains can use more vinegar in the mix.
I love large leaf Hoyas and the Nervosa is one of my favorites! Many thanks for this video and for sharing your beauties with us. Take care! 👌🪴🥰

Congratulations! Sorry for the late reply: how are you enjoying it?
@@herrenfamIt's just a small 5 leaf plant. But, I enjoy watching them grow!❤😊❤

Great video
Thank you :)
That nervosa is incredible
Thank you so much! It is one of my favorites. It’s come so far from the little cutting I got in the mail 3 years ago!
How did you get your hoya leaves so shiny? My parasidica has unsightly water stains that I can't seem to remove with just water :(
