Oh! removing the softener dispenser is very simple! All ya gotta do is look for a small notch right below the dispenser and pry it up with a small flat screwdriver. Then twist up and remove the dispenser. While you are working on the agitator, just fill the dispenser all the way with hot water in the sink and let soak for a while then empty and rinse it out. Not sure if you have already worked on it, but this vid can help ya get everything fixed. watch?v=0GQh8JLqVv8
@tmmaston I realize this may be a little late, but you should be able to pop the cap right off, by lifting it, and then they should be under there. Should be simple after that.
@TheLucasMollet I tried that after the washer got fixed it stopped spinning on us so we ended up getting a Whirlpool Duet front loader because my mom wanted a front loader. So far the front loader hasn't given us any trouble compared to what most people think of them.
We replaced this machine with the Whirlpool Duet in 2010 because my mother wanted to get a front loader, My mom and my late stepfather bought this machine in 2006 when our Frigidaire top loading machine died in that year.
Did u fix it!?!?!?!?!?!?????
how sad that this machine is broken, usually whirlpool washing machines are very good and last for years! How old were it been when you changed it?
@TheLucasMollet thanks, the only problem is that I have the one with the softener cup and I'm not so sure how it comes out

Your agitator dogs are broken. They are between 5-15 dollars to replace and they are fairly easy to replace.
