    Hey dude, this is one of the first videos I've seen on this monitor and I've really liked; great work on the updates where they've addressed your concerns. I'm debating buying one of these myself work a work/gaming split so thanks for your efforts - I've subscribed!

      Thanks for subscribing. Actually up to this point the guys at PRISM+ has demonstrated great attitude. I mean in the video I have spoken some really harsh words, and they really took it on the chin and made efforts to address things. In so many years of working with manufacturers, this is a rare event.
      With regards to purchasing, do have a look around what there are. This monitor is still on my desk, its doing its job well. Personally I prefer 4K displays, but actually this wide format is growing on me.
      All the best mate.

    Hello, now that the AOC and Gigabyte monitors you compared are the same price as Prism+, would you choose Gigabyte, AOC or Prism+ now?

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  2 роки тому +1

      Yes,
      I like AOC, and Gigabyte is a well established brand. Not to detract from PRISM+, but years and company size wise the two are mammoths in comparison.
      So, the competitive advantage for PRISM+ was consumer direct and lower price point. If the local brick and mortar shop is selling AOC and Gigabyte monitors for same money, what motivation do I have to buy PRISM+, worthy through their product may be. Its all a matter of perspective.

      @@CyberCatTechnologies Thank you. Yes I'm leaning towards AOC with their USB ports and overall performance, even though gigabyte a little brighter for light filled rooms. Agree that Prism+ looked great when these other established monitors were $200 extra but I can now get AOC and Gigabyte for even less than Prism+. They will need to reduce their prices if they want to compete.

    Hello @Salesberg
    Firstly, a great in-depth review. You started from a dent, from display, performance to absence of speakers.
    You were not biased you highlighted their cons as well as pros.
    I'm a beginner, I wanted to make videos on plants and tips. So I started shooting videos using my smartphone. Currently I use my phone for editing as well so looking forward for giveaway updates.

    Well, what an awesome review, so honest and straighforward. The reason i read this is because im in the market for a new monitor and this is ticking all the boxes. The only question i have left to be answered is this......All UWQHD monitors look long and narrow. im used to a 28 inch 4k one, with a screen size of 340mm high by 640mm long. will this screen be narrower than the one im used to? ive checked the height of the PRISM+ and that seems ok but it still looks too narrow. PLZ help.
    Thanks in advance. Mitch

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  Рік тому

      Real world the response time is way too fast to have any noticable ghosting or trail.. I've played fps and rpg games, my eyes aren't that sharp to be able to pick apart imperfections in real world.. the measurement thus has to be the answer.. numbers tell a better story in this case

      @@CyberCatTechnologies so based on the numbers with your test results in the video, what were thé actual results?

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  Рік тому +1

      @@RallyRanchMotorsport so we're testing for a set time. At 1ms there should be ghosting.. we've hit the limit. As can be seen in the image. 64/192 refers to shades of grey.. hence the term grey to grey. I picked 64 and then switching to 192 and back. Idea is that with these numbers you can replicate my test. Also, with different grey values the results may change.. this is problematic. Since the manufacturers seldom mention which values they tested for. Cherry picking, possibly..
      I shared a few shots, testing for different speeds. As I said, speed of machine is better than my naked eye. During the test, it all looked the same.

    Hi Salesberg, great review and awesome job in challenging them to improve customer rights. I hv this monitor but did you face any wake from sleep delay issue? mine always take from 8-14 secs to wake from sleep. I suspect the delay is from the monitor side because I always could wake the mini with a keyboard click and proceed to key in my login password and wait for the screen to show up, once the screen is up, I am already successfully logged in in my desktop... this tells me that the mini wakes much earlier than the display by a long time
    I connect my m1 mac mini to this via hdmi.

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  3 роки тому

      8 to 14 seconds is way too long. Something is a miss. Are you facing any other issue with the monitor. What I am thinking is, if you can test the monitor with some other device and see what the wake from sleep time is. Also if you power off the monitor and turn it on, how much time does it take then with the active display signal on hdmi. If possible try also using a display port. Point being, we often try to narrow down and eliminate possibilities. Let me know how you go. Also drop PRISM+ an email, get a conversation going with them too. I am curious to know what they say as well.

    Hi Salesberg, it is better for consumers to take the returns policy as immaterial and to contemplate the Australian consumer rights and guarantees when considering a refund. Businesses are not allowed to take away the codified rights of consumers. The product must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, match the advertised description, matches the demonstration model and must meet any extra promise they make about the product.

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  Рік тому

      Consumer rights are there. Customers are not automatically entitled to a return if nothing is wrong. PRISM is not doing anything in breach of that, or that I know of. So imagine going to the fair trading to lodge a warranty claim. Something that the manufacturer is giving you as a service anyway. And the ombudsman will hear both sides, so not communicating in the first place will look bad at that point. Outside of this, I'm not a lawyer, but am pretty sure that their return policy as it stands is compliant.

    • @calzonyCraze
      @calzonyCraze Рік тому

      True, though you yourself have admitted that the language about the end-to-end screen real estate is extremely questionable where there should be no question about it. If it is easily arguable then its persuasive text intended to push a product. Everything they say must match the product. The ordinary meaning of a computer screen is a surface on which one can read and view electronically displayed information and images. This surface goes all the way to the bezel but what is illuminated is not, hence the description is a misrepresentation.
      Going to the ACCC is way overstepping the mark as a first port of call. All I am saying is in the first instance if the manufacturer turns you down, you can go back to them when you are abreast Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. A feature to do with the product, namely the end-to-end screen real estate, does not match the description made by the business. The consumer can successfully claim the screen does not match the product description.
      Another avenue for a refund is the video from PrismPlus about the XQ340 Pro in particular on their website. If a consumer buys a product based on a sample or demonstration model, the product must have the same quality and features. In the advertisement, as well as the one broadcasted on Australian television, it shows complete end-to-end usage of the screen, leading the consumer to think one thing. The consumer can successfully claim the screen does not match the demonstration model in the advertisement.

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies  Рік тому

      You raise some good points and very eloquently as well.
      Before responding to your comment, I did go to the website and had a look at their return policy. Again, I'm not a law specialist, but in my humble opinion it appears the text is compliant. Also, in this video it also covers that they edited their website to address my concerns. This is leaps and bounds better than any interaction I have had in my 10 plus years of UA-cam presence. There are two sides, a business has right to exist, and to be treated fairly. While on the other hands consumers are to be given information in good faith and spirit of honest transaction. This is a delicate balance no doubt. Though, as at this point, today, I dont see too many questionable things from them. Their return policy is easy to read and understand, as opposed to more traditional players. It is not my place to promote or demote Prism plus or anybody for that matter. Just expressing my 2c on the matter. To involve ACCC is indeed overstepping. Because it is like pointing a proverbial gun to a business, as ACCC has such powers to fatally wound a business from with the business may not survive. Question is, are they in such a breach? It does not look to me, and they have addressed my concerns raised in the video plus updated their documents, but I'm open to reaching out to prism if there is something you can point your finger to that warrants such a response. I'm all to happy to hear their side of the story. Perhaps in good spirit we can make something better than what it is at the moment.

    • @calzonyCraze
      @calzonyCraze Рік тому

      @@CyberCatTechnologies You're right, the text is compliant, but only so far as it does not impugn any Australian Consumer Law right. As someone that has covered the Priestly 11 (law degree talk), the defendant is the person who bears the burden of proof that a term of a consumer contract is or is not fair. If a person relies on this end-to-end screen real estate descriptor and the old advertisement (still on their website and Australian television which has not been updated) that shows the entire screen which actually touches end-to-end, it shows a compelling case against the defendant.
      The defendant has inadvertently provided prima facie evidence of two breaches to consumer guarantees. 1. The misleading video showing a demonstration model with the screen illuminating right to the zero bezel (for which was apart of an old advertisement that accompanied illumination right to the edge before PrismPlus changed their advertising material), and 2. The descriptor stating the screen utilizes end-to-end screen real estate. When read in conjunction with maximises every inch of the screen, it provides wiggle room to argue that they used every inch, but it is deceptive in that it is not cogent wording, leading to an avenue where the consumer can satisfactorily claim and win a refund claim.
      You're also right about how businesses can flounder and fail, if everyone knew their consumer rights and made a claim generally, for any business. The truth is the average person is only aware of a few consumer protections at most, usually though day to day interaction with others. A business would have to be recklessly indifferent to consumer guarantees to dent to the profit margin and lead it to its demise as people do not want to bear the emotional strain of a few minor gripes about something they can live with. PrismPlus appear like they provide an exceptional service. The avenue to quash the return policy, of which is compliant, is still there.
