Same here there’s so many great towns in UP Mi it’s hard to decide which one but as far as cost of living and housing prices you may want to check out Ironwood. The people of UP MI are some of the best in the country.
During my last summer at MTU, I had a job at Co-Ed hall, now known as McNair hall. Some of the younger workers and I went to the waters of Lake Superior at the edge of Hancock. The water was really cold in August, but the women had to impressed by our intrepidity. Still remember the great times.
As someone whos grown up in hancock my entire life and now owns a home in it, I'll tell you right now its so much more chill just to ride your bike down the sidewalk of the bridge, which technically isn't legal, but no police officer here is going to ticket you for it as long as you get off your bike if pedestrians are coming your way. Also as someone who bikes heavily I'd much rather ride the sidewalk than the highway because people are dicks up here. Edit: nvm you do ride sidewalks just not the bridge lol. Also at 7:39 (Its the green and red building you see for half a second) Ginos used to be owned by my grandpa about a decade ago before he died, my aunt lived to the right of Ginos, my grandma and grandpa lived below it and my parents lived in the house next to that, all our backyards were connected. Sorry to bring all that up but it just reminded me of the good ole' times. Edit 2: I used to live in the brown house behind the green one at 8:53 lol.
Thanks for your comment. I liked to eat at Ginos. I agree with you about the bridge. I used to ride the bridge sidewalk. I guess I ride the bridge because the ped crossings are bad at the ends, and also they did have the sidewalk closed for a while, so I got used to the road.
I used to live there 30 years ago. It really brought tears to my eyes remembering the wonderful times I had there. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment, I'm happy it sparked your memories
Excellent video capture of Hancock. I'm from West Virginia and looking for a new location to reside, so thanks so much for doing what you do!
Thanks for your comment
