I bought my vacuum 6 months ago and I have been waiting for a friend to come and assemble it for me but every time she comes I forget to remind her. Today I tried to assemble it and missed a few steps and decided to search on UA-cam and found this channel. Thanks a million
Thanks so much for this video. My Bissell 1797 was delivered today and this was so helpful! I'm a senior citizen and always have trouble reading the tiny print on the instructions that always come with these things, and you made it super easy. I just followed you step by step and voilà! 👍🏼
I bought one of this exact model yesterday. Not my first Bissell, won't be my last. Put it through the riggers and it is a pretty good machine. That little turbo brush is kind of neat, but it can clog easily, but is really easy to unclog. I think that the new style hose is the best part, besides the colors, just easy to see through the hose to tell if it is clogged and where. Just had to upgrade from my Bissell Swift Sweeper. If I were to give one con, it would be that the bagless system doesn't have a great capacity before going above the full line. My turbo brush does work great, used it on carpet, and an upholstered chair so far, just clogged when it took in an old french fry.
Before I started collecting vacuums, this is what I had, the non-pet model, and it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve used. Cleaned my house. I ended up selling it to get some other models for my collection. But for their price, they are decent cleaners.
Omg Thank so much for making this video. Single gal in Jersey, no husband or bf to help me (yet) lol! And you have no idea!!!!! This video was a huge help thank you so much! 🙏🏽😊🙌🏽
Thank you very much for posting this video it was very very helpful my husband was trying to spite me up for not putting this together for me so I found a video and did it myself I am so proud of myself and again thank you so much for posting it I can use my new vacuum now with no help at all !😀😀😀😀
I’m glad I found this video. I’m not very familiar with this vacuum yet. I haven’t seen this vacuum at my local Walmart stores. Despite not owning this vacuum, I would like to have this vacuum one day in the near future.
I'm considering getting this vacuum for Three reasons it's a pretty nice-looking basic upright. It's one of the only in production vacuum cleaners with an available motor replacement and it's rewind.
Just replaced a 20yr old Kenmore upright that finally kicked the bucket with this vacuum today. Got it at Walmart for $78. Assembled it in 5 min and vacuumed carpets and could not believe it filled up the canister twice! Hoping this 1797 model lasts 5+ years and I will be happy
@@IntellitechStudios Thank you for your detailed review, that is what made me buy it. Its very quiet, no vibrations and seems to clean very well so far after just one use
I got the blue Powerforce Helix Turbo Rewind Pet and the green Powerforce Helix Turbo Rewind Pet 1797, but I gave the blue one away to a Mini Mart and I still have the green one up to this day
This vacuum is beast for like the first 6 months. Then it starts having issues. I have replaced mine 3 times in 4 years, and I actually have a new one sitting in the box right next to me. I have 3 dogs and a cat. I have to vacuum a lot! The issue I ha e is the hair getting caught in the brush wheel and causing the belt to burn. I have to take the brush wheel off too often to clean it. It being advertised as a pet model is a bit of a reach. Let's face it, it's not expensive so you can't really expect a whole lot.
I think with the attachment brush the big one u gotta do it at an angle or else it'll stop spinning, i had the same issue but then angled it better and it started spinning
That’s a new version of mine! (edit mine also makes a sort of rattling noise/vibration, and I think it’s normal for these Turbo Rewind machines. I believe it is from the brushroll though.
What do I do about the fact that the machine’s main brushes are turning while I’m using the turbo brush? Is there anything I can do about that where the suction or power can improve for the turbo brush if I close something. I realize the hose isn’t connected to the machine body, so there isn’t an actual suction issue. It just seems like it’s wasting a lot of energy to be running at the same time as the turbo brush.
Here's my issue. When you're using the attachments and your vacuum is on, the brush is still spinning and its spitting out all of the stuff it picks up. Is there any way to fix this? Seems like a problem most vacuums have. Not sure why they dont include a cover or a way you can manually turn off the brush.
That feature is saved for more expensive vacuums, as turning off the brush requires either a clutch mechanism or separate motor to drive the brush, which adds cost. Bissell and other brands have vacuums with this feature, but they cost more, as it's a feature you give up when spending less on a vacuum.
You forgot to talk about how to rewind the cord! I can't figure it out, and the one page "manual" isn't very forthcoming, either. Otherwise helpful. I wondered what that black piece of plastic was for and clearly I was not doing the wind/crevice tool properly but I wasn't sure what was proper. So thanks for that, but need rewind info. I don't see a button and tugging it and trying to get it to rewind itself doesn't seem to work. Pretty cheesy mechanism, though.
I just bought this Bissell and assembled it just as you did. I have low pile area rugs so when I push the machine forward and then pulled backward it grabbed the rug and lifted it off the floor. It also left hair lines when going forward again. Also after about five minutes running the cord was hot! I had the setting on medium and high but it still did the same thing. There was not a registration card in the box only instructions and no extra filters. I'm going to return this to the store and get my money back. Very disappointed!
I just got a hold of the Power Force Vacuum. I t’s used so it’s missing the owner’s manual and the little brush cleaner. I used the turbo brush and was satisfied with it’s power and lightweight. I ran into a problem when an object stopped the turbo brush from working. I removed the object by opening the cover to the housing the belt and brush fell out, without the owner’s manual, It haven’t been able to figure it out. Please help. Do you cover that in your helpful video?
I have this same one and less than a month later my belt broke on the vacuum, so now it feels like a workout just to push the thing on my carpets 🤦🏽♀️
Had this one it was 3 weeks old and one day I used it it started smoking and then it made a pop and caught on fire most scariest thing I ever encountered
Hey so mine came with an 8 fl oz pet stain and odor remover + sanitize carpet cleaner fluid. Does anyone know how to use this cleaning fluid with this same vacuum? Thanks!
If it's blowing debris out the lower hose, vacuum that area of the floor before parking the vacuum so the brush doesn't pick up any debris while using the hose

As long as you clean the filter when it gets dirty and change the belt as needed, it should easily last that long

The 1 thing I don't like is the vacuum brushes still turn as I use the attachments or am I doing something incorrectly? HELP?!

Thank you! I'm not saavy when assembling vaccums or anything really.
Thank you!!!! Very helpful video :)
How do you open up the engine compartment. Mines is making a rattling noise/grinding noise coming from the engine.
@Intellitech Studios wish the turbo brush had a tangle free design like dyson does
You can use the Dyson tangle free on these
@@IntellitechStudios i wonder if it would fit in the turbo tool bracket too

Whats the turbo brush for? For couches and stuff and why does it stop spinning when it touches down

Very good video and nice explanation..
Would you recommend this vacuum or the Bissel power force helix turbo rewind pet 2692? Or if you can recommend some vacuums under $100:) thank you
Either are good choices. They're identical
@@IntellitechStudios I’m actually open to options $150 and below if you have recommendations
Good video!!! Helped a lot.
So I guess before using the attachments I need to empty the tank? Bc dust just flys up when the hose isn’t attached to the bottom
Just vacuum the carpet before you leave the vacuum in that spot, so there's nothing for it to kick up
I’m so confused / when using the hose everything flies out of the where the hose is coming from! I don’t get it
Vacuum the floor before you park the machine. The brush never stops so if you put it over some debris it, will kick it up through the lower hose
@@IntellitechStudios ohhhh okay got it! It worked - Thank you 🙏🏽 😁
My turbo brush fell apart on the first use, I guess the belt came off, I'm trying to find a video or picture to help me put it back together
There's a grey collar that twists and let's you separate the two pieces and let's you access the belt, brush, and turbine
