      Direct Injection. Change the oil every 5k miles or once a year. If you can afford it change it every 6 months no matter the mileage. Drive it hard on the highway for at least an hour once a month. This is to help prevent carbon build up if you plan on keeping it for many years. Top Quality gas like Exxon Connoco etc

    This redesign is much better than the previous iteration. The EX-L shown is also equipped with about everything you’d ever need, but they stopped the sunroof which is my one gripe with it. I could likely get over it though

      Completely agree! I currently have a sunroof on my car and honestly, I can’t remember when I last used it. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for most people.

    Can you access the third row if you have car seats 3 across? My Atlas has a function that tilts the whole seat while the car seats are installed to enter the third row.

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому

      Yeah no the Atlas seems like the only one in this class that does that. This one won’t hold a car seat in place while it moves forward because the back rest tilts forward while the seat bottom just slides forward. In the Atlas the whole seat kind of tilts forward including the seat bottom.

    Is there a difference between Pilot and Pilot Elite?

  • @koharu.mochii
    @koharu.mochii Рік тому

    hello, mom of 2 currently driving a Mazda 3. I've been looking in the market for a 3 row suv and I like the EXL model. On Honda's site when you look at the trims it says that the EXL model has the moveable center console. Does this mean it's only on some select EXL models?

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому

      Hello there,
      If you mean the removable middle seat in the second row then according to some of the pilot EX-L owners in the comments, the middle seat is removable. Though it’s not obvious, remove some hidden latch and the seat belt light connector from below the seat. And you should be good.

    Is the 2nd row middle seat truely not removeable? I know know the higher trims are quick release, but is the EX-L seat bolted or welded on there?

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому

      Correct it is fixed in place. I suppose if you remove enough screws (which might not be easy at all), then you might be able to remove it. But it is certainly not removable like the top trim with a one latch release system.

      @gunblade3448 Рік тому +1

      The members at Piloteers forumn confirmed the middle seat can be removed from the Sport and EX-L on the 23 Pilot. It looks like there is a wire under the middle seat you can pull and the seat will come out. I have yet to try it on my 23 EXL model.

    Hybrid/Electrification is the future. Toyota is going to come out with the Grand Highlander that's going to get almost double the MPG of this outdated rubber timing belt no VTEC V6 engine.

      Some prefer the v6 but I’m going for Toyota

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому +1

      While I do prefer the hybrids, and kind of agree with your point. I think the way Toyota reports their performance numbers is misleading. For ex. The highlander hybrid I think has 240 or so HP. But that’s not the full story, 50 or 60 of that is the electric motor HP. Same for the torque figures. And the electric motor doesn’t work on freeway speeds, so effectively you only have about 190 or so HP when driving on the freeway. Which for most people may be enough, but when you want to pass someone you need more HP. All the current 4 cyl will do is rev for like 3 seconds and then you get some power. Which at freeway speeds will almost definitely piss off people behind you because you can’t merge at the speed everyone else is going.

    Why doesn't the exl have or offer 360 cameras and ventilated seats smh,honda took so long to redesign the pilot but it still doesn't touch the telluride or the palisade,those even offer heated seats on the 3 row and that camera blind spot is the best,I'm done with honda,no 12 inch screen,cmon honda even the jeep wagoneer or jeep cherokee L is better than this,only way I get this if they lease for real cheap

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому +3

      While I do agree with you on your points, but ultimately I think the pilot is a much more dependable and reliable car then the telluride or the palisade. Sure it comes at the cost of the interior features like you mentioned. But honestly I would rather have a peace of mind then a few extra interior features. As cars are getting more technologically advanced the maintenance of these cars are getting super expensive, so if you can find a good balance between tech and simple old school then it will go a long way towards making your life easier in the long term ownership of the vehicle.
