Solved my issue, reinstalled drivers and several other applications that I thought were causing the issue only to find that AMD decided to overclock my card by 200MHz causing it to repeatedly crash. This fixed it. Extremely grateful.
Ah glad it worked dude 👍
This is the fix I’ve wanted for 2 years now. Thanks heaps!

Same, I’ll continue with their cpus but not their GPUs
Sadly, this one also my first and last time trusting AMD > NVIDIA.

You Sir, are a fking Legend. Couldnt play any other than LoL because of black screens. This solved my problems ty so much !
Step 1
update your bios to the lastest version.
Step 2
DDU drivers- uncheck amd folder in ddu and check mark the don’t let windows update your drivers. restart
Step 3
Install amd adrenaline latest - i recommend only the drivers - safe mode restart
Step 4
install amd chipset drivers in safe mode then restart.
Step 5
Go into windows and change display resolution and refresh rate.
Done
after many headache and days this worked best for me now i can open anything and it works.
also to note some monitors, resolutions, refresh hz rate don’t play well. so disable free sync in the monitor also you’ll be good to go.
amd chipset drivers do nothing. ive never installed them once and game happily on this same gpu (most of the time)
@@indicator27 might be but when you ddu it might aggressively remove some component drivers that may be needed that’s the only reason i do it. just trying to help. btw my problem was t totally that it seems 0rpm isn’t working on my card because fans came in faulty so they don’t move while under load at high temps like 96c.

TURN OFF THE FREESYNC! ---- That worked for me. This method did not work, what I did next is return everything to default and turn off FREESYNC on my monitor and done.
I don't have ot hooked to a monitor and it's still doing it
Bruh I had an amd pc built and I think the guy that made it was feeling like watching the world burn because it crashes or black screens in literally every game or application and doesn't even use the graphics card except when starting up so it just runs on integrated graphics from my cpu normally then when it tries to use my graphics card it black screens and crashes after a few minutes
Hmm seems something mega wrong there, maybe get the gpu checked out for any faults or burnouts ,wipe your computer reinstall everything from scratch, even dissemble the pc and re build from scratch, check the psu also maybe change that out, in your case dude you may need to try most of these methods so you can rule out what it is . Hope you get this fixed dude 👍

Ty so much. Work in my pc. Mobo asrock h67 i5-3470 rx560.

God bless u.
This was perfect!!! I've been pulling my hair out with my rx 5700 xt with the amddisplaydriverstoppedworking crap and sometimes recovering but when in a competition battle it would kick me out "terminate the program" and have to reboot my pc to get things working again. Stumbling upon your video and I decided to max frequency by 15% which in my case would be 1763 MHz because the game frq is 1755MHz with a boost of 1905 MHz - it's worked like a charm. I can now once again watch videos while playing games like World of Warships (old game shouldn't stress the card at all) and no driver crash. The AMD cards are over spec'ed and are not running to what the drivers can push these cards to. I even went into MSFS2020 super graphic intensive and was still getting 50fps, strangely enough the fans were going at 3000rpm but temps stayed down. Thanks a lot and for people out there with this issue with any AMD card try this and get your P3 state down to the game frequency MHz and don't worry about the boost - the boost is garbage.
Well never mind. I think I need to lower it a bit more because just had the failure again. Sigh. Maybe the card is just going to the crapper.
So far, lowering the game frequency below 1755MHz to 1746 seems to make it more stable but the fans spin a lot higher than before for some reason. Junction gets to about 90c and the fans go to 93% sounds like a jetliner taking off on my desk. I've seen it higher than that before and the fans wouldn't run that loud on the default profile. The gpu temp itself doesn't go about 70c. You know, last year this same GPU I never had an issue and the only thing I can come up with is AMD's drivers and how they are writing their code. I'm looking at the RX 6700 XT and they actually list a base clock, game clock, and boost clock and they are almost 1000MHz higher than the RX 5700 XT. Maybe it's time for a change. Another $400? IDK.
I fixed my problem!
Im with B450 motherboard, Ryzen 5 5600x and 5700xt. I was getting black screen when I alt+tab from game to Chrome. I disabled Hardware Acceleration from Chrome and Windows, uninstalled latest drivers with DDU bcs i read in the descriptopn "known issues: Brief display corruption may occur when switching between video and game windows on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon™ RX 6700 XT ". Then i installed 22.5.1 driver. For now it's all good. For me those things fixed the issue.

you guys can get it to work, run it on 900mhz with lowest ram mhz setting. you wont lose as much performance as you think.
This is slowly making me change from Team Red sadly. Have rx 590 it's plauged with temperature issues, black screens etc. WHILE being a really strong card, for me atleast. I was running it at 1080p - all games maxed out NP (with issues aformentioned ofc) on 1440p performance maybe dropped for 10% it's still a great card, but AMD... is making things... just.. bleah.

LOL GOT A BLACK SCREEN WHILST WATCHING THIS
Thanx men It still works
thanks for the fix it even works on rx 560
I'm using RT 6700 XT on 22.11.2, the driver updates state that the black screen issue has been fixed, however it still happens at least every 1-2 hours no matter if I'm gaming, or if I'm sending an email for work. (gaming PC and work PC are the same.) It's so hard to diagnose this issue because it seems to happen when doing any activity. I've noticed that League of Legends causes it most frequently however sometimesI've gone through an entire gaming session (1-3 hours) with no issues, then have the screen go black and freeze when watching a UA-cam video.
This is starting to drive me absolutely bonkers, should I just sell this card and get a new one??

Yes, switch to Nvidia. I had AMD once with a number of problems that disappeared after this change.
I literally have the same problem with my 6800XT, this shit is driving me nuts. Like you said it's very difficult to diagnose because it happens randomly while watching youtube videos, facebook videos, while gaming or when using Zoom. It baffles me that AMD still hasn't fixed this freaking issue that so many people seem to have .... It's the first time I purchased an AMD card and it will be the last, f*** them.

I hope this works. My computer just crashed twice, after booting up 'Gems of War'. I mean, my previous GPU, was over 8 years old, and it handled it with no problems. Never once, did it crash or freeze.

Gems of War is a casual image game. Yet it keeps crashing my computer.
My problem was my multi plug wasn't keeping up with my pc and monitor. At first i thought it was GPU problem than i suspect it's the monitor than later i found out it's because of not enough power supply. After I changed multi plug my pc is working just fine

bro please somebody help me, my game crashes after game of 10 to 20 minute of playing .sometimes gives issues like d3d device lost, display driver crashed etc. i am really frustrated at the moment i am trying to fix this over 2 months but can't fix it . if anyone knows how to fix this then help me(i tried ddu but its not fixed).
Hmm tricky one you might have to go down the route of cause of elimination which is a pain in the ass, maybe try a new psu then if problem continues then check ram, then full reinstall of Windows and drivers, then check gpu for burnouts and heatsink so on so on like I said it's a pain ,but if you can rule out each individual component you should be able to narrow the problem down to something .....check the comments on my video aswell a few people have been putting there fixes on ......wish you luck👍🎮
thanks for your reply i updated my bios and got the issue fixed@@arransgotgame1988
