- My sincere apologies for the misspronunciation of Hattie McDaniel's name. I had a friend in high school with that name, and that's how she pronounced her name. That aside...Join HUGHES TV for a look at Jonsboro Georgia! We visit the "Road to Tara" Gone with the Wind Museum that contains screen used props and costumes from the movie, including Scarlett's "Paris Hat" and "Nap Couch" used at Twelve Oaks. Also on display are the "Cotton Pantalettes" used during the Lacing Scene. We also ride over to Covington, Georgia, for a look at the real "Twelve Oaks" and the inspiration for the Hollywood movie!
They are all equally deserving. We are all God’s children. I hope she gets the respect in Heaven that she deserves. ❤❤❤
I just Love this movie!
❤
It's horrible with all the white famous actors Hattie McDaniels knew the only white famous actor who attended her funeral was James Cagney. What a disgrace. As if it wasn't bad enough, they had Miss McDaniels seated all the way by the kitchen entrance when she won her Oscar. God bless your soul, Miss Hattie McDaniels.❤
Hattie McDaniel, being the first Black actress to receive an Oscar, is one of the most important moments in Academy Award history. GWTW wouldn’t have been the same without her. ❤️ I believe she was the only winner that year... and deserves a lot more credit.
GWTW won eight major Oscar’s that year including Vivian Leigh. Clark Gable being shunned that year is one of the shameful moments in Oscar history.
You only realise after watching gone with the wind how beautiful Vivien Leigh is, and a terrific actress
