I just got hired as a pct in the rehab department. I’m so excited I have no license, certification or experience in the hospital. The company will pay for my CPR and BLS certificate. The only experience I have is hospitality and hotel experience. I’m nervous but excited to begin this new chapter!
You got this!
I’m also going to start in rehab, how did you like it, what were your duties?
Noel Ybarra hello. I never started I actually start orientation on Monday. What about you?
@@hopewalton23 doing orientation this week, won’t start on the floor until next week
Congrats , i just applied for something similar to yours because they shut down my CNA classes after three weeks in due to covid. My interview is tomorrow afternoon!
You are the definition of HUSTLE girl!! You're such an inspiration.
Christina Johns Thanks love❤️
Great job on this video. This is the 1st video I've seen that really shows what a PCT does. I love how you were able to show us the different duties and errands that occur during a shift. Good luck in your future endeavors!!!
Thank you, one of the best PCT/nursing video I have watched. And the music... exactly what is needed to relax, unwind when that busy!
You sound like me😂I’m currently in school taking prerequisites for nursing, just landed a pct position, work as a server, and I have my own catering/baking business and also looking forward to coast guard. I believe there no limit!
First time here. Not sure why you came up in my recommendation but I did subscribe. Love the natural vibes.
I’m going to start PCT in the hospital hope I enjoy it . But while watching this video I know I got this 🙏🏾✅
Your such a vibe 💕
Love your day in the work Vlogs !!
I’m excited i applied with no experience besides taking a phlebotomy course which I didn’t complete but I’m excited I go for a interview this Thursday with aventura hospital
Great content 👍🏾. Thanks for sharing your experience and the video so we can see it in action.
Do a what’s in your work bag! I need to know what to take for my new job as a PCT!

More about pct
I would like to know more about taking the exam I finished the class some time in 2019 and they weren’t having any testing until early 2020 then COVID hit 😫
24 hour urine specimen is what the ice is used for. at my hospital we usally sit the foley in a basen & pour ice on it all night to keep it cold. all shift we have we keep emptying the foley & dump it out in a big orange jug..keeping it cold does something to the protein in the urine i can’t remember. but after 24 hours we take the full jug & walk it to lab 🙃
I just love your hair 🥰
I just got hired as a pct in a hospital after years of working in nursing homes I’m excited!
Congratulations!!! Totally different experiences
which do you like better?
Congrats girl the hospital is sooo much better if your coming from a nursing home👌🏾
Update....I started on my unit Feb 1st and I start my night shifts starting Wednesday Feb 17th. I love it 😀
@@thapriceisright514 What are the biggest pros and cons you've noticed of working in a nursing home vs. hospital in your position? I'm a pct in a hospital and I like it. I always hear bad things about being a cna in a nursing home so I'm curious about the differences
charli i really enjoy ur videos.. plz make more hospital videos and pct tips and tricks.
Awesome video and a lot of insight on your day as a PCT. It makes me excited to start night shift in a few weeks!
I’m supposed to start Monday
It will be my first job in hospital (rehab)
How was it?
Do u help cna change patient diaper
Love watching your videos ❤️ I’m starting at the hospital night pct next week.
Thank you and good luck!
Congratulations me too!!
You just reminded me of how much I hate 12 hour shifts!
Wow very informative, love it.
You inspire me...good job
I love this! I found someone who has drill too and the job i am looking into 💚💚💚 you got a new sub

You better than me, those showers would have been done when I came in. I hate doing late night showers. Residents be so grumpy
Thank you so much 🥰.
Love your hair... Could you do a video on your hairstyles❤️❤️
Gratitude.
Hey 💕! I’m a pre nursing student and I have an interview for a pct tech position next week. I wanted to know if you could give me any tips for the interview?? Thanks
What is your Patient per PCT ratio?
Love your videos! 💓 Congratulations on the new job! Are you going to be doing the same thing?
So how do you balance school and work ?
Girl when you said you had to go down to the basement to get a sandwich o screamed so loud in laughter Idk why I thought your hospital didn’t have a kitchen 🤣🤣
😭😂😂
Great job
How many days a week did you work as a pct? Also what state did you work in?
hi .I'm new not
psa in the hospital and my English is not strong can you do a simple bed in how psa do the 12h a work
Thank you so so much for these videos; I start hands on training tomorrow
I'm nervous; I'm 31 weeks pregnant
But the facility is REALLY SMALL not a big hospital
More like small country town patient care, probably less than 15 elders.
Wish me luck
Good luck, mama! You got this! Congratulations! ✨💕
How many patients do you get is the midnight shift back breaking work there's people on UA-cam have horror stories about being a PCA I already work with a disability but I want to get paid more money but I'm already having back problems I'm wondering if this PCA position is for me i applied but I'm have second thoughts
Hey Charli, just for my own curiosity - what unit are you working on now? And what's your new job? I'm also a PCT (I work on a Stepdown/Cardiac Unit) and love hearing what other units are like!
Hello,Im currently not working in the hospital setting. This video might explain why. I dont remember if I said it specifically but its all connected. ua-cam.com/video/718QzBLC710/v-deo.html
Do you need to give shower to all every shift ?
im shocked that your hospital uses those low tech vitals machines on the regular units that you have to manually chart your vitals later! at my hospital we just take the vitals and they upload to the charting system automatically. i've only seen the older type you use in the ER at my hospital bc typically the patients aren't admitted yet and might not have hospital bracelets so there is no need for newer updated vitals machines in the ER when the vitals would have to be entered manually anyway since those patients don't have bracelets to scan. also im surprised you do pharmacy runs and the supply room stocking. at my hospital we have pharmacy techs and supply chain techs for that. i don't kno how have time to do all that extra stuff as well as take care of your patients and answer all their call lights
Omg I think you're in my city!! That hospital entrance looks familiar 🤔
Tee C Yes,I deleted your last comment because it had the hospitals name in it.
Hi I am a new subscriber liked your video .!!
Like your make up how you do it !
How you chart. I never had that experience. I will be working at the hospital soon.
Hi I have a quick question!! When you are doing your own tasks, like running to get meds and filling up ice cups.. do you have a pager or anything ? How do you know your patients call light is on?
We do have pagers. We chart in an area where we can see if a call light is on. Someone in “nurse call” pages us if I light has been on for more than 3 minutes.

👏🏾👏🏾
Genuine question: how do you know when it’s ur lunch break? do you just take it whenever ur least busy, or does someone let u know to take a break?
Either or, depends on your units policy. Just ask on your first day.
New subscriber, I have a question. If you are scheduled to work 3 12 hour shifts, do they ever offer another extra shift?
Depends if you full time or part time. Usually it’s not a problem if you want to pick up another shift if it’s available.
As someone with a weak stomach, is this a good role to have? I easily get grossed out with smells or with certain things I see.
If you wont be able to handle bodily fluids then i think its not for you, but you never know, try challenging yourself, ypu might end up loving it
How did you get pct? I am currently enroll to start cna classes next month .
They are the same thing
Where is your lunch bag from
I have a virtual interview Thursday. I am nervous 😫what were some questions they asked you?
Mine is on the 27th! I’m nervous as well!!! Good luck!!
Did you get the job?? 😃
Right I do to
Hello new subscriber. I'm having trouble deciding if I should go active duty or reserved with air force I'm a single mom of 2 my goal is to be a nurse and i don't know if I should go to nursing school while being active duty or if I should do reserved and go to nursing school. Plss help
Either way I would say go to college first if you can afford to. That’s one of my biggest regrets.
I have a question for any of all that are pct do you have to train on a manual blood pressure cuff as am I'm slow at math sorry
I just got a job as a PCT at a hospital, they have machines that do it for you. Either way if you do have to do it manually there’s no math you have to do
is it had to learn the manual blood pressure
@@davidw455 No
All you have to learn is what the low, normal and high rate is
Thank you very much
How’s school?
Forever Fallon update coming soon 😕
Charli had too share just received my acceptance letter FOR PCA
Congratulations 👏🏾💐
So ready too live my dream of helping others.
How are you enjoying the job? I start as a PCA tomorrow.
We’re you nervous when you first started as a pct
shantel padgett I was but as soon as I got into a rhythm it was fine!
Do a what’s in your work bag! I need to know what to take for my new job as a PCT!
Thank you💕
