I really enjoyed the video good job!
instablaster.
Thankyou so much for this video! I've done CNA work since 2002 and I swear I can do it with my eyes close. I start my night shift PCT position in the hospital (for the 1st time) next month & I'm sooooooo nervous about it lol. I can't wait to get past that awkward nervous stage that I know I'll experience in the beginning and get to the point where I can clock in and know exactly how to maneuver through my shift
Halimah J. How is it going?!
Awesome
Girl please let me know which one you prefer Nursing home or the hospital/ so many people say hospital because it's much easier????? Then the nurse home
@@chichinone7555 Oh wow. Had it not been for your comment notifying me, I would not have known that there were year old replies under my post lol
So for me, I learned that the Nursing Home is more my speed. I like fast pace work and the hospital just wasn't it, well for me at least. They had me on one floor but training on all shifts. I liked 1st and 2nd shift better because it was much more activity but still didn't come close to Nursing home work. 3rd had me yawning and nodding & they wouldn't switch me off so that sucked. But if you are looking for easier more calmer work, the hospital (depending on which one and which department) is probably where you'd like working at.
Yes I LOVE YOUR energy and how happy and excited you are about your job
Charli ! what a great walk-through! I've been a home care PCA and now starting in the hospital setting. And the video helped so much! thank you.
This is literally the most informative video I’ve seen for a PCT/CNA in the hospital. Thanks!
💛 this was super helpful! Thank you so much! I’m starting a new PCT job at my local hospital and I’m super nervous! I wasn’t too sure how the schedule would work but this makes it seem a little bit easier! I love your energy ❤️
Lady God bless you. You sound like that you don't only love your job you truly care about your patients.
I'm in CNA school and just got hired on in the PCU to start right after school. I ran across your video looking for how the floors kind of run. Thank you for this video! It gave me a lot of insight!
I am so happy I came upon this video. it is really informative and I am definitely taking notes to use when I get my job as a first time Patient Care Technician
Aren’t you a ray of ☀️!!! Thank you for your service!!!!! My cousins were in Arizona In the Airforce.
😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
I’ve been a CNA since 2016 but I’ve only ever worked in nursing homes with the elderly, this will be my first time being in a hospital so I’m glad to see that not much is different from working in a nursing home. This was very informative.
I thought about taking a PCT class at the local community college and wow it was almost $ 3k.
So I searched YT to get a better idea of what to expect and found your video.
This video is very informative! Thank you for creating it!
This is the first video that I watched on your channel and I loved it. I will start to work as a PTA the next month, September 2020, I fell so nerves because it's a new experience and a new big challenge but I am prepared for the new step. Thanks for sharing your experience, you are very sweet and funny.
Love this! You go above and beyond!
Your positivity and energy is infectious! My dream is to work either in labor & delivery or with pediatric patients. I’ve also been thinking about oncology. Thank you for this informative video! 💗
I’m excited to start my PCT job at my hospital ! This video makes me very excited 😆
This is so helpful! I was just hired as a nurses tech at my local hospital and I am so excited! I will also be working 12/hr full time nights, just 7:00pm-7:30am. This video really made me less anxious and more excited, it's my first hospital job!
Im SO glad that I could help! Thank you for watching and good luck!
How do you like it
RN's working you to the bone? How much weight have you lost?? Its a thankless job.
You’ve made multiple negative comments. Maybe you should changed hospitals.
Congrats❤️
I never realized how different the scope of practice is for pct from facility and states as well. In nyc a Cna or Pca is different from a pct and then at the same time there are some facilities here that use the term nursing attendants for pcts 😂😂 as a pct in ny state you are trained as a nursing assistant, phlebotomist and ekg/ecg tech. I’m starting my program this fall, originally was supposed to be in the summer but since schools were closed 🤷🏻♀️ These videos you make are the most informative I’ve found on UA-cam. I think you are going to be an amazing nurse you are genuinely such a breath of fresh air !!
I just got a PCT job today & im Army national guard as well. We have something’s in common. I got my CNA certifications 2 years ago & never used it, so this is my first hospital job. Im super excited, your video is super helpful💛
I just discovered your flight attendant videos last week, and today on my youtube feed your PCT videos popped up! Im an LPN and hope to one day become a flight attendant while working PRN as a nurse. I love all your content
Thank you so much for posting these videos! You've been such a huge help for me through the whole process of interviewing and orientation. You calm me down a lot! 🙏 I'll be in the hospital working next week!
How did it/is it going?
Super informative video! I love how excited you are throughout the whole vid. Would love a what's in my work bag video =)
I started my position as a PCT a couple weeks Ago but I’m not there right now (I’m pregnant) and i love it ! It’s a lot to take in when you first start coming from a doctors office (psychiatric) to a trauma acute care floor (PCT) and it was nerve wrecking learning how to chart on the system we use but I love being A PCT ❤️😫
Im in Alabama prior military and pursuing my RN degree. So glad i found your channel
💛your vlogs are awesome. I'm a new PCA and your way will help me to be a bit more organized during my 12 hour night shifts. Thanks for sharing. 🙏 This video is a great guide for me to follow for sure.
Nuwanna Lovely Thank you so much for watching! 💛
Thank you so much for your info. I want to be a PCT . You inspire me . Thank you .
i have been religiously watching your videos to make my decision on nursing school and i think you’ve convinced me to try out the PCT program at my community college, so thank you for all of your hard work and amazing information! ❤️
I have a PCT interview tomorrow. I really want this job because I think it will help me on my nursing journey. This video made me feel a lot less nervous!!
i’m a PCT as well!! you have the prettiest smile🥰
💛💛💛 this helped me so much I just got my CNA
Congratulations and thank you! I actually have a PCT Day in my Life going up today! 💛
I just applied for multiple positions at a hospital near me and I was nervous thinking it would be entirely different..this makes me feel better😇
Awesome video, very informative and detailed! Thank you!
im so happy you said your from Alabama i am too from Birmingham and i start PCT in about two weeks
💛 thanks for this video. Very informative. I've been thinking of working in the hospital.
I purposely had to come back and comment just to say thank you! I went thru school got hired at Missouri Baptist Hospital and my first day is Monday! I also use epic etc I’m on the general medicine and renal floor. Thank you so much I’ve watched all your videos and you where super helpful! Thanks so much boo 💕
My shift is 6:45 am to 7:15 pm so pray for me with that but I’m super excited to work only three days a week!
Daniellle White I hope it’s going well! I’m so glad I could help!
@@CharliEdwards It is going strong, I love my job and plan on moving to children’s soon
Really appriciate for sharing your experience. I have my first day unit orientation today. Kinda nervous. This is my first Job in America. Your videos helps me a lot. God bless!
I hope everything went great! Thank you so much for watching!✨💕
I have been working as a CNA in a long term facility. Within a couple of weeks I will begin my maiden experience as a PCT. I must say your video will be helpful on my job.
I’m a brand new PCT and I was in the second group to learn how to take out a catheter and draw blood we’re not allowed to put them in but we can take out catheter to draw blood to take out IVs and everyone else in the hospital that doesn’t know how to do it that are PCT’s and that kind of stuff are going to learn how to do it we are finally learning how to do it I work with Ascension St. Vincent’s and I’m very happy about it
💛 this was super helpful! Thank you
Have 32 years in ltc, took the plunge and got a job in ICU in Western Nebraska. Never have worked acute care setting ever. Really nervous, but am looking forward to the challenge!
Very good imfo where I'm from certified nurse assistant go to training for about 6 weeks where patient care techs go for 8 months and we also do EKG and phlebotomy and trach care
I've worked in a SNF, and it was meh 😕 but I caught on pretty good. However some of the workers I worked with were: messy and miserable (not all but most). Thank you for this review about the PCT's in the hospitals.💛💛💛💛
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!
N FOR THE VIDEO ALSO..
Great video!! I’m nursing school and debating to find a job as a PCT.
Please do a video on interview questions and tips! 💛
🌼 Very detailed and informative!!!
Love this vid very informative!
In New York state a PCT is like a LPN in the hospital. We can draw blood pass medication. Apply dressing to wound's as well as keep the room clean.
Thanks for this, Charli 💛 This was awesome 👏
I'm starting a PCA job next month on med/surg. I'm excited, but a little nervous. They're putting me through a three day orientation since I have my CNA.
Just caught on to your F/A videos and have gone back in time with your PCT videos thanks to that UA-cam algorithm that knows best of what to suggest I view! LOL! . As a nurse in Canada I can't believe how much help you would be on a night shift as a PCT. Is there anything left for the nurse to do? or is it a staffing model where one nurse takes the floor of 45 patients with the assistance of 3 PCTs? I thought from your F/A videos that you had your nursing degree? Perhaps you have already sampled what it is like to be an RN which made you flee to aviation?...Was your interview with the big "D" impressed with your healthcare experience you had and how that would benefit the passengers on a flight? Great videos BTW... wonderful stage presence!
💛 Great Info! Thanks!!
Thank you for the infooooo!!!! ❤❤❤❤
💛 Great info!
Thank you so much you’re a great help💛
You're so welcome!
Very informative thank you!
💛💛💛
Was gonna take the class but I will pass… Im in school to become a Certified Coding Specialist, and I know I won’t have the stomach for this kind of job but I applaud all who can do it❤️💯🙏🏾💯
🌻 hello @CharliFromPeds new subscriber ! Very detailed and informative video plus I'm PCT as well
Thanks for the video. I have a question on how to organize taking notes for the day, on each patient, so you can report it to the next PCT?
💛
I do the same thing at Providence.Im actually going up to becoming a lead.
I love your video so now its Patient Care tech.instead of CNA.cool.😀💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Awesome video!
Just a question has things changed, with Covid being around? Or you don't get covid patients?
💛💛
Just wondering while in nursing school do you do 12 hour night shifts 3 days a week still? Im in nursing school and I want to be a pct but i have to work full time to support myself. Just scared i'll struggle in school
Thank you so much @Charli for such an informative video... 🌼🌼
✨
👑
Thanks very informative! 🙏🏼💕✝️
💛 so I’ve been applying and hope to get the job soon
Goodluck Love!!!
Any update?
🧡
I just completed my masters degree in Healthcare Management, but I have no experience and finding a job in healthcare is hard when you are not a clinician. I want to get my degrees worth so I do not know if this is a good idea... Would you recommend this position as a starter or should I just keep looking for something more?
Thankyou ♥️
I want to try this, I’m a CNA in a nursing home 🏡
How long is the class or the class you took for the pct? I know its different from Alabama im in Virginia.
I'm a MA just got offered PCT position I never done before. It's something new so I'm worried lol. Thank you!
You’re a medical assistant ?
Same with me!
🧡🧡
I am a PCT with just the certificate. I am not state certified as of yet. I'm currently in nursing school but it seems so difficult to get hired in a hospital without having any former medical experience. How is it going with Covid? Stay safe.
Yes it was helpful
💛💛💛💛

Wow lots of work
⭐️💛⭐️
Ok now I understand
Because of your video I applied for a pct job and got it! I start the 14th. They are paying for school also. Thanks for your videos❤️
fruitfly gaming Congratulations! Thank you so mischievous for watching!
🌼💛
🌻
Awesome
💛⭐️
So PCT is the same thing as a CNA? So if I wanted to apply for this job I would need to take a cna class? I have a PCA certificate already.. but that's probably not the same as the pct though 🤔
I just got hired as a PCT and I’m scared af. Excuse my language. My sister is an RN and my other sister also works at that same hospital. They both scared the 💩 out of me.
👍👌
More videos on PCT!!! An do you know the difference between PCT2,3
I haven’t been a PCT in probably three years. The numbers specify, the different types of training and things you’re allowed to do. It should break it down if you Google it and make sure you’re looking for your specific state.
Hi, 12 hr shifts will be hard for me. Can PCT’s work 8 hr shifts? And, are hospitals the only place to work as a PCT? Thank you ☮️
