Amethyst and Jasper Release!

Two juvenile Kemp's ridley sea turtles were released following rehabilitation at CMA! The two turtles, named Amethyst and Jasper, both suffered from hook related injuries after being caught by fishermen in Cedar Key.
Amethyst ingested two hooks which our team was able to remove without surgery! Jasper had a hook embedded in their right front flipper which was easily removed. Following rehab at CMA, both turtles were cleared for release by our veterinarian and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission!
We wish Amethyst and Jasper well on their journey!
