    that reminds me when I was younger, but I'm not able to get down under vehicles very easily,, it's good to fix something and then get to see the success when it's running,

    "Slick as a pig in..." Keyboard! You can feel the bevel too though, right? And the squared off one? I am watching this like it is my truck and hoping I did everything right! Funny... because I had to do too much manual work on my cars way back when... and I did not like the learning curve... wait, this was part three... I specifically recall you chatting about getting this done - even if you didn't record it for part one! Watching and Supporting... really wanting this to work smooth - and very much looking forward to seeing that engine running well! Watching and Supporting - LIKING another video!

    I've never heard of using that Lucas Oil Stabilizer for assembly lube. Looks like it works just fine, I'm curious how many others out there use it. I don't recall ever seeing a dot like that on top of a piston, what is the function of that? Sorry if I missed the explanation within the vid. It's a coming along though! Will be oh so sweet when it fires up for first time.

    Hi guys!! It's great to see you bringing an old IH engine back to life! I've never seen an International SV-engine with the heads removed and I noticed the very wide bore-spacing! Is that because there's a water jacket all around (360 degrees) each cylinder?

    • @FarmallFanatic
      @FarmallFanatic  5 років тому

      260 to 280 degrees, they do have wide decks...prevents over heating...but yes, pretty much water jackets all the way around

    Lucky the engine exhaust manifolds are good. Nice job on the old cornbinder. We had a 63 1600 with a 304 in it. It clicked and clacked from cracked manifolds but still hauled grain nicely. We also had a 72 1/2ton with the 345.

    With all the scoring I saw in Part I, don't be too surprised if it burns at least some oil. Once you get it cranked, let it break in and see from there. If you foul plugs on those scored cylinders then you'll have to decide from there. But, just my opinion.

    IH made those 345s very heavy to say the least lol they easily weigh as much as a GM 454 BB but wont turn the RPMS the GM BB and SB will But overall the IH 345 were better porportioned ports/cyl. size and could fill the cylinders better..
