@@jaykneegarner2479i could be wrong but derwent inktense pencils look pretty similar. they’re like watercolor pencils but use ink so when they dry they don’t lift as much iirc
It probably was some type of watercolor pencil. I wouldn't worry too much because normally art supplies aren't toxic (at least not for humans) and if it's indeed watercolor, then it won't do much, as is a pretty light pigment very easy to remove; certainly it'd do less than the ink from a sharpie
Snake Discovery has been testing colored markers all year to test if it negatively affects eggs. Apparently some of their fans noticed that a lot of eggs didn't hatch when certain colors were used.
Snake Discovery is doing a study on ink coloration impacts on egg incubation. They’ve been doing it for a couple years so you could probably reach out 😊
@AylaGarton if no one cares, why would you reply? Clearly you care if you are willing to take the time to even bother sending a reply to the og comment.
Aww! I can't wait to see the baby! On another note, a couple of weeks ago we went floating on the Caddo River near Caddo Gap, Arkansas. While we were at a stop to eat lunch, I saw a couple of things in the water that, because of your videos, I knew were snake eggshells. I'd seen them before growing up but never knew what they were. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 💙💙
I've kept leopard geckos for almost a decade now but I've never successfully bred/hatched one so I'm a bit jealous you did it on accident but also super excited to watch this little one grow!
So we used to breed geckos and beardies growing up and honestly the geckos were the easiest hatches we ever had! I also won the science fair with the hatch because I documented the temp, humidity, and days
That’s most likely a watercolor pencil. Likely non-toxic. ❤ I had two brands in my house so I looked. The Arteza brand clearly stated “non-toxic” , the Derwent did not say either way.❤
I have always use ink on my conure eggs - not a lizard but roughly the same size egg. 11 years in and never had an issue. (Also, SnakeDiscovery here on YT always uses ink on all their different species, I believe even their leopard geckos) Little one should be fine. 😍
I follow another channel that does snake breeding, and they always draw a bunch of stuff with sharpies on the eggs and the babies always turn out fine, so you have nothing to worry about
I love lizards I like geckos and I also love owls and I’m an animal lover and butterfly and dragonfly. Only thing I don’t do is spiders. Creepy crawlies
How's that female doing? Did she lay a second egg? Hopefully you have separated her from the male and gotten her eating calcium and vitamin dusted food. Cheers, Chris
I think black ink is fine with any eggs, but other colors might do something to the egg because I've only seen people use black ink markers or pens and they usually stay away from other colored ink pens/markers, but I'm not a breeder and i can't confirm any of this, so please don't take my word for it
Never heard of an ink pencil. But looks like it's developing well. ❤
It’s likely he grabbed a watercolor pencil. They can be really expensive but are fun to use as they can be used wet or dry.
@@jaykneegarner2479that’s what I thought lol

Never heard of an egg but my frying pan is ready.
it's a watercolour pencil
I show my six year old daughter your channel. She thinks all your snakes are cute.
My kids love his channel too. They love learning about snakes lizards all kinds of reptiles.
@@shaxzoda7379 it’s an educational channel and I love it.
They are very cute 🥰
@@Am3lia77 my daughter kept on pretending to eat them lol. She loved these videos.
My 5 year old sister loves snakes and got excited when I showed her his channel all about snakes 😂

Snake Discovery are actually doing some experiments with sharpie ink, if you're interested 😄
i was going to comment this too lol
Came here to say this 😂
This is so interesting! Thank you for following up on the egg. ❤
I can't wait to see a beautiful gecko
I’m pretty sure that’s a watercolour pencil! Also why the humidity would have it “bleed” so to speak.
Yeah, that's what I wanted to say too, watercolour pencil, all seems good ❤

No one cares if you're first or not.

A blue gecko will be so cool though

You're doing great so far!
They are all so beautiful
I am glad that you’re treating the egg just like your tree of the snake eggs because it is really cool how you can have a gecko
I'm so excited to see it when it's ready
Bro the gecko be like: who turned the lights on
Edit 1: ty for 5 likes!
Leopard Gekko moms are always caught on film kicking their eggs like crazy lol. Like Sis. It needs to sit Still and Upright.

My cousin likes your videos.
Oh a little gecko :)
Would be hilarious if the gecko comes out blue 😂 like "hi I absorbed the ink, didn't know what to do with it, so I put it everywhere!! 😃"
You gotta admit, its probably vary unlikely but it would be cool if when it hatches it has a small blue stripe

I can't wait to see that little geko!
Looking good 👍🏼
Waiting for the outcome. ❤
Amazing life you got man, if only i had such an exciting amazing life !!
looks pretty healthy to me not gonna lie
One time I had a dream where I found a snake egg and it was a blue eyed Lucy ball python.
I hope it all goes well but that's my first time hearing of a ink pencil keep us posted plz so far so good I'm learning a lot!!
Looking good! Crossing my fingers for you! Average 50-70 days, long haul for the lil one!
How's the gecko doing? Btw I love your channel, so fascinating and relaxing too!
We are on day 38! I just posted an update.
Lol it's like shut that light off i am sleeping in here
Could you go into detail about the incubation set up for the gecko. Like is that perlite your using? How is it staying humid?
The gecko be like why is it so bright in here
You should try to do chicken eggs, trust me, it's actually really fun
I saw someone use a crayola marker on their gecko eggs, I think this will be okay.
Cool 😮
Cant wait for the hatching!
It may be a watercolor pencil cause they go on like normal and then become watercolor so it mightve just spread cause of the humidity
This is so cool 😎
This is so awesome
Ah a hectograph pencil yeah they’re really fun to use in art but be careful in any other application 😅
This vid gets my hopes up!!! I have 2 gecko's, 1 boy 1 girl, the girl could have eggs! Its been digging a hole and its been a bit mean and shy!
As Snake Discovery would say, "Incubate 'til there's no debate."
Snake Discovery are doing an experiment atm to see if orange ink is bad for eggs. Every other colour seems to be ok though.
Imagine the gecko turns blue😂
Cant wait till.she hatches.
I can't wait to see if this egg hatches!!!
Some gecko expert: This- no- 🤦♂️
Verry good
I have a feeling that was a watercolour pencil and the humidity made it smudge/ sink in

Willy wonka vibes but with reptiles 👍
Oh thanks🍩😍😝
"i have never heard of ink ever impacting an egg" because everyone knows better and doesnt do it lol
That looked like a watercolour pencil.
Aw, expecting a BLUE gecko 🦎 😅
Yeah looks like we might have an embryo facing the left in a c shape
It will take 65 to 70 days to incubate. I have mine incubating at the same temp.
If she has a green birth mark we’ll just blame you 😊🎉😂❤

It probably looked like hiroshima in there for that baby gecko
Is the enclosure a little small tho? Leos need at least 20 gallons, but 30-50 are recommended.
Eggs are marked with sharpies all the time and incubate fine
Nice
Damn gecko eggs hatching all over the place in my home in the tropics. I hate them cos they make such a mess!
it's actually pretty similar to a chicken embryo but all vertebrates embryos all look the same
It should be ok because some people mark their eggs with sharpie
imagin a blue gecko came out of the egg
You should put a link for part two
Looks like a watercolor or some type of oil pencil.
I have a lepord gecko!
I feel so bad for those geckos ):
Lol it looks like a eye 👁
Can the gender of the gecko change depending on the temperature that’s it’s incubated at
Watch the gecko come out blue 😂
Damn 😢😮 it’ll be alright
What happened to the egg? I really need the update!!
Watercolor pencils I use them daily
I have a leopard gecko
Maybe it'll be a blue gecko
Finally moves on from snakes literally every video I watch was a snake
Wait so lower temperature and longer incubating makes it a female for geckos?
Incubate till there’s no debate!
If you didn’t know, you spoiled have educated yourself to avoid harm to the egg/geko
I think it was a water color pencil. It should be okay.
❤
What do you do with your snakes after they shed? do you seek them or keep them?
he just said the tempreture would make it a femaile?
