I love watching a good declutter because it reminds me not to second guess myself with fragrances. I have ones that I hang on to thinking I'll grow to like them. Generally I don't. I stopped myself from buying Ylang in Gold for that same reason. I thought the flecks would annoy me and I'm so glad I did!

Finally - someone who does not get the hype of M. Micallef!! To me, there is always some underlying funk sneaking around their scents.
Micallef Note Vanille is a funny one. It really got hyped by influencers. It’s nice, but I think the hype was off-point. Me and all my friends get a strong powdery vibe from it. It is getting better with age, and when I wear it around the house I like it, but I never reach for it going out.
I feel like it is a beautiful understated vanilla, fit for a a thin young gorgeous woman who wears an all nude tone wardrobe, always has perfect hair and nails, doesn’t fart and is always ready for business meetings and martinis, but goes for runs at 5am everyday.

Jazz Club gave me the same vibe!! blind bought it after watching reviews of it, but It pulled way too masculine on me and my guy wasn't keen on it either!!

I paired jazz club with Valentino BIR it was beautiful and makes it easier for me to wear
I really love Whiff of a Wafflecone and feel the exact opposite. I emded up selling my bottle of Mahni Cassonade because I couldn't smell it at all on myself. The performance was so terrible. But I do love Whiff and will definitely buy another bottle when I run out.

I agree, I like ylang in gold but the glitter on my clothes is annoying and I don’t ever only spray my skin. So with that I’ll have to spray that on my skin and something else on my clothes 🙄

Thank you for always telling it like it is! I was feeling 💩 about self, I don’t like ylang in gold on me or in bottle! It’s tropical but lactonic. So it’s warm in a cloying way. So it won’t be worn when hot. But the type tropical DNA is not something for winter. Mixed blessing note V was oos so I didn’t blind buy
Hey Ayesha! I don’t reach for Whiff of a Waffle Cone. I feel the same way about tea fragrances. Ylang in Gold is one I can only spray on my skin because of the glitter. Nice declutter.

I agree with you on the 2 first M. Micallef fragrances. They just didn't work for me either... and Oud Jaune Intense was another one - really pretty but not special enough for me or for that price. I resold it.

Great video, Ayesha! and thank you about the heads up on the declutter. I totally get it when you say that a particular house just doesn't agree with one's vibe. I think each parfume house has particular DNA that one either likes or not. I usually try two or three parfumes from a particular house, and will know if we are a match or not. I also enjoy wearing different scents every day and rotate them every week. I have an issue with scents that are too linear, that smell the same from begining to end. For example, Lira by Xerjoff was one of these that smelled like a lemon cookie from beginng to end on my skin. I like when a scent is a composition that harmoniously changes throughout the day. Do you run into this as well with any of your fragrances?
I think it's time for us to start the campaign of harassment to get Micallef to bring back Ylang without the shimmer!! I remember hunting down a bottle sans shimmer back in 2021 because I couldn't stand the thought of having poofs of shimmer all over my clothes. Ended up having to get a bottle shipped from a boutique in Spain because it was the only place on the entire internet that I could find it. So I don't even wanna know if it's possible to source right now. I don't know why they got rid of it, but I need them to bring it back.

I don't get any similarity with La Belle and Vanilla Woods. They share some notes but their overall scents are different imo

I still love "Fan Your Flames". I'm sad that it's no longer a love for you.
For me vanilla woods it doesn't have similarity with La Belle... For me is more similar to Cheirosa 40 Sol de Janeiro, but more smoky and not that sweet
