Brilliant. I’m Islington born and bred and still living here, that’s 71 years. You would not believe how much it has changed, take me back to the good old days, it was a bit rough but much friendlier.
I worked in the Angel Islington, the market. I was a sales assistant in a jewellery shop, I loved that market, it had a Littlewoods and load of other shops that I can't remember the names of and wonderful market stalls. The jewellery shop I worked in was next to a butchers, and bit further down was a supermarket. I bet I wouldn't recognise it now, I am 72, and like you thought those days were the best.
Im 70 now and the street i grew up in is around 1minute58seconds h(58Rawstorne Street) back in the day it was Finsbury would move there if I had a couple of million quid to spare
Another former resident here. The block of flats shown at 3.41 were either Peregrine House or Kestrel House both built by Islington Council as part of their slum clearance measures in the 1960s. The apartments are now privately owned and can cost over £1 million to buy.

Still remember those brilliant ice creams from De Marcos in Chapel Street Market. Loved the lemon sorbets.

Makes me think of all the people that are no longer here and the fun we had around Islington..if only we could have one more day
