I agree. The molecular level of medicine isn’t as necessary for a nurse to fully grasp and retain as it would be for say an MD.
That knowledge would be necessary for grasping for if we’re hoping to become a (psych) NP right?

Totally agree that people should start wherever they want to or get a job in. As a med-surg new grad I've learned so much and I've gotten so good at IV's. It will be a learning experience no matter where you start/end up.
I hate starting IV’s I feel like I’m the only one that feels that way too... like I’m not bad at doing it... I just hate having to do that to people 😂😂
Day shift is definitely better for sleep patterns but nights are better for having most of your day. This is great to listen to!
Honestly I find nursing a career that you live and breathe in. Same as being a physician. This is because you’re working a lot. I am currently an LPN (In Canada the LPN and RN have almost the same scope of practice), and I find that you have to be prepared to be anxious and stressed out because of the responsibility
i’m in canada too, what’s the difference really between a lpn and rn?
So with you - I am much more functional on day shift than night shift, no matter how much sleep I got the night before!

im a pct and i remember one of my first weeks on the job a nurse asked me to help her with a patient that she had to insert an ng tube on and tbh i did not kno what i was getting myself into. whenever nurses ask me to help them with something i never say no bc obviously it's my job to help them as a pct but it's just funny bc sometimes they'll ask me to do something that i've never seen before and im just like ofc i can help you with that but inside im like wtf am i about to do lmao. this might sound dumb but i didn't kno what the fuck a ng tube even was at the time that the nurse asked me to help her so when she told me to give the patient water i didn't kno like oh shit this is going to be a minute bc a tube is literally going thru the nose all the way into the stomach and the patient needs to be drinking water the entire time which i didn't grasp until a few seconds in. like good thing i didn't completely take the water cup away but there was definitely a pause in there where i was like oh shit i need to actually hold this straw and make sure the patient keeps drinking and swallowing

Why are you still partying and hanging out with groups of people during a pandemic? I get that Texas isn’t close but it’s irresponsible, really. Maybe it’s because you’re not really dealing with these hard hit COVID cases. It’s such a shame though. It’s not just you, but quite a few UA-camrs too.
